People generally do not affect how I eat but situations do. For example, if I'm alone, I don't eat as well. I eat great at work. When visiting family, I usally eat more because of all the goodies.

My pet peeve is when people say, "You should watch it, you're going to get too skinny." I'm far from skinny and a long way from my goal weight. And, my goal weight is not skinny anyways.

I am hypothyroid, diagnosed about 6 months ago. I bottomed out and gained 70 pounds in a very short amount of time. Finally, my doctor tested me. I am on meds now and slowly losing, it's tough but not impossible.

I have a salad bar at work and I put in romaine lettuce, spinach, roasted chicken and a light dressing or a calorie-wise dressing I brought from home. With all the options it sounds boring but it is super satisfying and simple to me.

Limiting my alcoholic intake by a ton and counting calories to stay under/within my goal. Two small things that made a big impact/change!

Everyone is different. I weigh myself daily in the morning. This helps keep me accountable.

Sounds like you've got a plan - good luck on your journey. I weigh myself everyday - habit and keeps me accountable. I log approximately once per week - gains and losses because I can learn from the truth.

OP, thanks for your post. I've been nursing a bad head cold and concerned that I haven't been to the gym in a week and a half. I'm starting to feel better now and am thankful I was patient to let my body heal. I suggest that you do the same - listen to your body.

I finished the program and lost 25 pounds - I loved it. Yes, it was hard but it got results. I also really like Jillian Michaels - I find you have to "click" with the instructor to aid yourself in persistence. Good luck on your journey and don't give up!

It's a slow process but quitting won't speed it up.
