My Endo suggested I keep my A1C between 6 & 6.5. You are below both. Even if your doctor isn't proud of you, I certainly am.

That sounds like something my daughter would love. However, I have no idea what coconut cream is? Is that different than coconut oil?

Thank you!

Hello. I'm Jillian. I'm a plant based vegan (no vegan junk food). I keep an open food diary. Feel free to add me.

I would like to join. I only have a little mountain bike so I don't usually go super far (but at least I can go somewhere right? )

My cholesterol was 278 spring of last year. I switched to a plant based diet (vegan). My cholesterol dropped about 100 points. I've always eaten very clean but genetics were always fighting against me. This was my last attempt at trying to save my health before the doctors were going to intervene.

That sounds cute.

My husband and I for the picture and a butterfly to complement it.

I'm totally jealous.

Nuts. I'm sure I could eat an entire package and not think twice. I could add a couple thousand calories to my totals so fast. :grumble:

Beans. That is a staple in my diet but I definitely take a big hit every meal I eat them.

How horrible.

Wow. That sounds so good (and I don't even like cheese).

I have a 20 month old. And work outs usually means me on the treadmill (while Lilo and Stitch is on), running (with her in the jogging stroller), Zumba videos (she tries to do it too) or the gym (where she goes in the play room). My kid has the same bedtime as us so we usually have to involve her in our activities.

I like bring left overs from the night before. Since I made it fresh then, I know exactly what is in it and if I'm going to like it or not. Then I usually just bring extra fruits, veggies, or nuts to add to the dish for lunch.

I like mine pretty plain. I put it in the skillet with just a bit of black pepper. I don't really care for it so much but it was suggested to me that I start eating more to raise my HDL. I'll definitely try some of these suggestions.

That sounds kind of good.

lol. I bet people don't log them because they don't eat them. Me, being a vegan, that's pretty much most of my diary.

Have you tried the ones at Lake Grapevine? Those are some good trails too. River Legacy (Arlington) has some too but I don't think they are all that great. Where do you go in Dallas?
-
I don't eat most grains (or processed foods for that matter) but my diet is pretty heavy with beans. Sorry, I am no help.

Well I guess I'm in trouble then. During both of my pregnancies and I had the paramedics save me many times.

red beans and rice split pea soup baked potatos/sweet potatos You can usually find pasta and canned tomatos super cheap too. Also try the dollar store. There are usually fruits, veggies, frozen food and some boxed type foods. If you have a Kroger or Farmer's Market near by, they usually have "manager's specials" which is…
