I'd be very cautious using an elliptical's calorie burn estimates. Mine claims I burn 1600+ calories in 45 minutes. I estimate maybe a third of that, based on HRM calculations. ETA that my elliptical doesn't allow me to enter my stats, so it's about as inaccurate as they can get.

Feel free to add me. I've been on MFP for like 3.5 years now, though I did have a few 6-month-hiatuses. I'm on every day (usually multiple times, if it's a slow day at work >:) ) I do a mix of cardio and strength training and am currently eating at a fairly restrictive cut in order to lose the weight I gained after a mild…

Mine's public; feel free to add me. I usually eat around 1700-1900 calories and try to hit over 100g of protein. Right now I'm doing a more restrictive cut and am eating around 1500. I'm not sure how useful my diary would be in terms of meal ideas, since it gets repetitive; I tend to go through phases where I want to eat…

(Edited to fix quotes and also to comment that I just realized this is kind of a zombie thread, oops.) You're from my old stomping grounds, more or less! I grew up around and went to college in Madison. I do miss the cheese, beer, sausage, and bloody mary's! Oh, and the fish fries. But the BBQ here is better... Aaaanyway.…

I've also noticed that the type of shoes I wear has an effect on this - I have a pair of newer running shoes that have a thicker sole at the heel, and they cause my feet to tingle more; I'm not sure if the higher heel causes me to put more weight on the balls of my feet. I find that if I wear shoes with flat and uniform…

Another vote for hip thrusts, for sure. They sound dirty (which is half the fun), they look dirty, they can give you weird pelvic bruises and be a pain to get set up for, and they're totally worth it.

I'm not exactly sure what you consider to be high in fat or sugar, but for what it's worth, I make a pancake recipe with rolled oats that works out to about 260 calories for 2 pancakes, 9 g protein,10g fat, 4g fiber, 13g sugar. I'm sure you could reduce that by using non-whole milk and subbing some other sweetener for the…

Gotta agree. If a man is intimidated by the fact that I like a well-rounded fitness routine, he's not someone I should be dating in the first place, so we're both probably better off if he runs away sooner rather than later.

rofl, I like the way you think

When I used to eat at work, my go-tos were usually beef jerky (all the time, so much so that my clients used to make fun of me for it), greek yogurt singles, and clif bars. But I stopped this a while back because I realized I would just mindlessly graze while working on paperwork >.<

I really like this idea! If I were not single, I would totally steal it. Although what the hell, I might anyway!

I prefer my hot coffee black, but for some reason I'm not fond of the way iced coffee tastes black. I usually add whole milk and sometimes protein powder, which makes for a good pre-workout snack.

Having a male friend refer to my butt as "luscious." I have always been extremely self-conscious about my rather large booty, but now that it's mostly muscle instead of fat I'm starting to enjoy it.

Oh my god, that IS a dangerous idea... hmmmm... >:)

Beef jerky, protein muffins, oat & apple pancakes (I love that I can just pop them in the toaster), cottage cheese with cocoa and honey mixed in, Greek yogurt with jam or honey, toast and peanut butter (peanut butter and banana sandwiches, if I get fit it in my day), Clif builder bars. Pretzels. ETA: Roasted chickpeas. I…

I pretty much always have a clif builder bar and iced coffee with whole milk, sometimes with protein powder added. I do IF, so that's my "breakfast." I usually work out shortly after and then have dinner.

Tabletop gaming, for me. Nothing says sexy like a good quest.

I pretty much just look at calories/serving size and protein

Yup, just water retention. I habitually "gain" 3-4 lb after lifting. If the scale bothers you, just don't weigh in the day or two after a strenuous workout - or weigh every day and learn to recognize how your body fluctuations in response to things like rigorous exercise, high sodium intake, alcohol, etc.

Confession: My FWB wants a more serious commitment, and wants us to move in together. I'm seriously considering it, even though I know it would be a terrible idea and that we have no future; I am only here long enough to get some actual experience in before going back to grad school in some other state, and we don't want…

I really like this thread. I came in here expecting a lot of "eating after 6pm will make you FAT" nonsense, but instead! Anyway, just to add my two cents, I am also a late night eater. I do IF, but I have an opposite window to the person above who stops eating at 9:30pm; I usually start eating around 4:30pm, 5, when I get…

Maybe try playing around with your meal timing a bit? Or as others have said, changing what you eat for the earlier meals. I have found that I crash pretty hard if I eat breakfast/lunch. I do much better when I stick with intermittent fasting and not eat until I get home from work. I tend to have pretty sustained energy…

Yes. And I have an unholy passion for clif builder bars (but only specific flavors... mint, peanut butter chocolate, s'mores, cookies & cream, etc).

What's better than your mental health and happiness?

Sometimes, even though I know exactly what I need to do in order to lose weight and even though I know with fair accuracy my TDEE and what is a healthy and sustainable deficit for me, I still wish I could starve myself skinny or find that magic fix, even though I know there isn't one. I don't mind the calorie counting. I…

Ooh, this isn't online dating, so not entirely on-topic, but back in college I got to know my next door neighbor because we took the same bus to campus. We got to be friendly enough that we would spend a lot of time chatting on gchat during the day, but I had a boyfriend at the time and this guy was not someone I would be…

Mmm, I love chana masala. Being single, I tend to live out of my freezer, but I'm undecided tonight. Maybe empanadas or samosas, or pork enchiladas de mole, or sweet potato and bacon quiche. Of course, my macros are out of whack right now, so the lazy and protein-needy side of me says "eh, tuna melts." Actually, I'm gonna…

This is probably not the reaction I should be having to these posts, but I have a very, very strong desire to join a variety of online dating sites, now. I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of humor and some amazing anecdotes. Fortunately (?) I am way too lazy, which is why I haven't ventured into online dating before now.

This looks delicious, thanks for posting!
