  • I don't add anything special. I just buy good tasting whey protein so that I don't have to add anything and I'll still enjoy drinking it.
  • CONFESSION: I have been on a cutting cycle since 02/20/13. I have not yet reached my goal weight, and I'm actually at a bit of a plateau. I'm absolutely dying to switch back to bulking early before I reach my goal, simply because I miss eating at a surplus and enjoying unhealthy food more often. It is getting harder every…

  • YES. THIS. Btw, cutting cycles suuuuuuuuck.
  • In all honesty, if you are trying to gain weight, and you don't particularly care what kind of weight it is, you can eat whatever you want as long as you get enough calories. That being said, its going to be healthier for you to avoid very high fattening foods so that you don't develop issues with cholesterol, etc. I would…
  • Obviously low body fat % is going to help, but there are people out there who have extremely low body fat that don't have visible ab definition because they don't train those muscles with any resistance. When I was a teenager I was in shape, and obsessed with the idea of getting ab definition, and did a lot of resistance…
  • Twice for me. I fast until about 2pm and have a light lunch. Workout after work, and then have a big, high-protein dinner by 6pm. 4-hour eating window. When I switch to bulking, I'll change it to an 8-hour window so that I can take in another meal or protein shake.
  • @ Joy_Joy, I also understand what you're saying, and yes, it would be better if she just liked her own image more. That being said, she didn't come here asking for self image help. She came here to find out how to get smaller thighs. And I didn't suggest anything that would be considered unhealthy. But nobody really knows…
  • Ok, well maybe I'm wrong here, but I think it might be good to try to help her with getting what she wants rather than trying to change her opinion of herself. She wants smaller thighs. Is this achievable? The not so simple answer is MAYBE. It is true that genetics plays a part into the shape of your body, and it may be…
  • -What was your starting weight? 196 -What's your target? 160 -What are you now? 169 -How many calories/day do you consume? Currently 1580. Was more when I started. -When did you start your weight loss journey? 02/20/13 I was bulking immediately prior, so the first 10 pounds I lost was mostly water weight, and came off very…
  • Nuts are actually a very good source of protein. The problem is that it is hard to find them unsalted or unseasoned. All the added sodium is the killer.

  • I don't know about every day, but I certainly eat the same things very frequently. A pretty low calorie lunch and then a high protein dinner after I go to the gym. Because of the amount of protein I need, dinner usually involves some kind of rotisserie or grilled chicken, and protein shakes.
  • I think you should listen to your body. This may be more of a question for your doctor.
  • Personally I don't believe in "target loss". To get a loss in fat in any area of your body, you have to lose overall body fat. Fat comes off in the opposite order that you gained it. The first place you gained weight will be the last place you lose it. If you were in good shape in the military and still had belly fat, then…
  • Part of my eating plan used to include cheat days about once every 8 days. In the last few weeks I cut that out and got past a plateau. I've been doing really well until my gf and I broke up a few days ago, and the next day I was more tempted to blow off my diet than ever! Took every ounce of will power, but I pushed past…
  • Ok, I feel like chiming in. Personally, it sounds like you might be overworking, and not getting enough rest. When your resting, your body is finding ways to adapt to what you just put it through, so no rest = no gains. Besides that, I would say that your routine is mostly about personal preference. You can make progress…
  • As it has been said by all of these other fine members, being here is about health, goals, and support. Everyone is welcome.
  • Whats up everybody? 5'10" 25/M Heaviest - 196 (02/20/13) Lightest - 160 (End of high school) Current - 173 Goal - 160 (by the end of this cut)
  • I agree with mock. Without opening, we don't really know. All I can say is that there isn't an easy way out. Losing weight isn't easy. You have to find a balance between eating what you want and having self control. For a long time I had to have a "cheat day" once every 8 days so that I didn't go nuts, but staying within…

  • Motivation is going to be the most important thing. You don't have to absolutely kill yourself every time you go to the gym. What matters most is that you go consistently. The days that you're tired, and thinking it would be so much easier just to stay home and veg, but you go to the gym anyway, those are the days that you…
