  • Cavemen didn't eat brownies!!!!

  • The thought of following a regime where I eat non-processed, virtuous-feeling foods appeals to me and I have gone down a 'clean eating' path before, on several occasions. I was miserableeeeee. I was so sad. I was telling myself I was happy because I was taking better care of myself and getting rid of processed foods and…

  • Don't get into the habit of eating your feelings... listen to what your body is telling you. It's not that it's hungry or even that it wants food. Your mind wants to mask and distract from your feelings, and in the back of your mind you probably think that because you have an excuse you can give in. This is going to sound…
  • Pigs feet Chicken feet Pickled eggs (though I want to try it maybe?) Black pudding Miracle Whip Calamari with heads and tentacles!!! ugh give me deep fried rings or keep your nasty sad-looking squid to yourself Never had cow tongue either. Or Rocky Mountain oysters...something in the back of my mind is telling me it's…
  • Oh boy; turns out I'm just as awkward with displays of affection over the internet as I am in real life...sigh just my luck...  :flowerforyou:
  • Do you people not have jobs/schoolwork/families? How do you manage to discuss and debate the same topics day in, day out? I understand poor OP who doesn't understand that you can search the forums to find such information...but the old-timers with 25 million posts...how do you do it every day? Seriously - is it a sincere…
  • I find it funny that the general "eat all the foodz" sentiment of the MFP forums shifts on Planet Fitness threads. "Free pizza! Why would anyone eat pizza if they're trying to lose weight?! Never going there." Other than that, it seems as if these horror stories are pretty isolated incidents. I think it's safe to say that…
  • To all those enjoying their snort fest (not the other fun kind, I'm referring to laughter), do you really input every item of food you eat manually? Or do you only use the USDA, MFP approved entries? If you all do, that's really great, but a lot of people rely on user-inputted entries when logging. I assumed that's why…
  • Hey, sorry, but did you really refer to "oils" as "junk food"? I sometimes misinterpret things in written form and just want to be clear before I silently pass judgment.
  • You're trying to be 3 lbs heavier than you were when you "were" anorexic? It sounds like you still have a problem to me...you said you're scared of meals, eat cheerios and grapes and exercise 2 hours a day. If you aren't already, please speak to somebody who will be able to assist you. OP, you're drinking a lot of beer…
  • Sometimes my cat steals food off my plate, and then I have to throw it away because no WAY am I eating after her!
  • He's saying that aside from any arguments on the grounds of moderation that can be made on behalf of the oreo ball, he thinks the ball is gross and the recipe is not worthy of being posted.
  • Can we get a TL;DR please?
  • I don't think it's imposing rules on others so much as it is advising others as to what is sustainable and what isn't. And in a lot of instances a person's "groove" is unsustainable or worse, unhealthy and damaging. There's no virtue in watching someone potentially harm themselves without saying anything because they are…
  • Lol. You are a ridiculous person. I mean that in the nicest of ways. But please don't respond to this, I see that you are busy discussing your powerlifting accomplishments (of which you should be quite proud - I assume, I have no idea what you're talking about as I'm just a Crossfitter) on the thread of someone who…
  • That actually was mild sarcasm, I'm sure that you are generally able to pick up on sarcasm with ease so I take full responsibility for you missing that. Thank you for explaining your point to me so nicely though, I do appreciate it (seriously).
  • Well I saw very few 'lols' and only a few blinky-face flower-offering smileys in the comments so I assumed the laughter was minimal...don't judge me. Y'all are derailing his thread for no good reason. Let him find his real powerlifting soul buddies in peace. god. Also, if you are able to/are interested in read/ing through…
  • Post should be promoted, congrats on your progress! Keep going, rock that bikini!
  • *****ing...giving the impression that they are offended that he doesn't include non-competitive lifting programmes as being comparable to what he does as a competitive lifter....making comments which could be interpreted as snarky or snide/making comments that may be 'blunt and truthful' but could also come across as if…
  • Omg, the guy only wants to talk to other people IN THIS FORUM who are competitive lifters. Granted, his word choice "just a person who likes to lift" was a little poor, but why get offended? Most of you who are pouting aren't even powerlifters as far as I can gather. You don't have to derail EVERY thread because your job…
  • Yeah, I'm much bigger and heavier than you, and when I first started lifting the bar was too heavy for me too. Weak is weak! Just keep going...modify by using a lighter bar if necessary. It'll get easier, and your success story will be sooo impressive when you can talk about how you started struggling on the empty bar, and…
  • I've learned how much food I was eating!! I always thought I wasn't eating too badly, but once I learned what a serving of food was (as compared to what I THOUGHT it was) I was floored!! I've learned that I need a lot less food to be full than I thought I did, and that the bursting at the seams feeling that I once aimed…
  • That sounds really good. Do you know if the cabbage was cooked before the lasagna was assembled?
in Cabbage Comment by royaldrea March 2014
  • I love cabbage, I just boil it with carrots and salt and have myself a good time. One of my favourite side dishes.
in Cabbage Comment by royaldrea March 2014
  • I'm really glad that you're seeing results, but that diet sounds torturous to me. I would be so miserable. Do you think that it is sustainable? Are you going to be able to eat like that forever?
  • Don't be gross :(
  • Best advice is to be patient/don't give up. If you've lost an inch and a half already you're doing fine. Don't worry about the scale so much, though it sounds as if you're well informed and are keeping a very level head. Keep on working out and watching what you eat. Look into using your scale - tbh I lost a lot more, a…
  • Use the "cross-training" option. But you have to be a bit cautious - you're probably not working out for a full hour, there'll be breaks in between. The WOD is generally around 30 mins. Also, MFP is said to overestimate calorie burns. I usually use 30-40 mins just to be on the safe side.
