Married girl here but I do leave my rings on. For years I COULDN'T take them off but now that I can I still just leave them out of habit. The more I lift though I'm getting a pretty ugly callus right below my rings so I may have to rethink that.....

Try for a bigger breakfast -- something with protien in it to get your day going and add in some nuts or yogurt or something as snacks throughout the day. Being that far below your goal won't do you any favors in the long run.

I don't have an official "cheat day" but sometimes I do take a break from it all for a day. Just be careful, I'm still trying to come back (weight-wise) from a cheat-weekend which hit me pretty hard! Ooooooh but it was fun!! Also, make sure 1300 is enough for you. I'm doing much better on more cals per day, even with an…

I started at 235 and have a goal of 170. I might change that when I get there, might not. I've always been a curvy girl and have no delusions of being "skinny" by any definition. In fact, at 5'6" I'll still be "overweight" even at my goal, just not obese! I just wanna look good -- in clothes and out! Feel free to add me if…

Chicken breasts wrapped in proscuitto and baked, swapping ground turkey into my fave recipes for sloppy joes, meatloaf, salisbury steak, etc.... I read Cooking Light like it's a novel -- I'm always finding tasty stuff!

Have you considered getting your body fat tested to see exactly how much lean vs. fat you have? I'm the same height as you but I know that I have about 134lbs of lean so I could never get to even your weight! It's a nice way to get a full picture of what your body is really made of and what may/may not be realistic for you.

I was thinking shoes too.

Gorgeous! And you give me hope that my arms may someday look like yours!
-
Definitely keep going! It will get easier and soon you will be amazed that it ever felt this hard!

I saw results quickly BUT in addition to upping my calories I also upped my protein, decreased my carbs, added a strength training class and started using heavier weights in my conditioning classes. Not sure which thing was the key or if it was the combo but I broke a 4 month plateau and lost 8lbs in two weeks.

you have to rinse the sweat off your contact lenses so you can see properly to drive home.

I only recently started adding MFP friends that I don't know and they've generally been more active and supportive than my "real life friends"! I like to friend people with similar lifestyle/goals/age range :-)
-
Keep going! You will be sore for a while but you'll adjust!
-
/ Under Check In where you'd normally record your weight/measurements there is an "edit previous entries" link so you can put a date and weight in there. Mine is from 9/2010 and I didn't start using MFP until summer of 2011. It helps me to see my actual weight loss! We work hard for every pound -- celebrate every one of…

Of course! I'm like you in that I lost some weight before I joined MFP and it always bugged me that my ticker was off from my real loss so I went back and changed my original weight so now my ticker shows ALL the weight I've lost since I started working at it. It made me feel at least a little better ;-) Tomorrow is…

Me too :-)

Russian Twists with a weight or medicine ball
-
I was throwing a medicine ball against a wall and instead of catching it with my hands I caught it with my face. Ouch.

Go to the gym and if you still need the ice cream after then stop for frozen yogurt or something on the way home ;-) You won't feel as bad later!
-
I portion out a bowl of nuts or whatever snack and log the whole thing right away. Then I savor each one and see how long I can make it all last.
-
Eat it all and enjoy :-) I don't always eat all of my exercise calories back but I try to get most of them. I started with a lower calorie goal but have done much better since upping my calories.

I didn't say anything about rapid results or trying to change overnight. I'm just saying that I've been at more traditional gyms before with treadmills and weight machines and had little to no progress, my body has responded really well to more dynamic workouts like the burpees and box jumps and dumbell/kettlebell…

The gym I go to is not "officially" a CrossFit gym but the workouts consist of the same exercises, just without all the lingo! And its been the best thing I've ever done. Expensive yes, freakin amazing results, yes. I've belonged to multiple gyms in my life in a range of prices per month and I would cut so many things out…

I started at 235, am currently 187 & size 12. My goal at the moment is 170 and then I'll reassess. I'll never be tiny though, I've got about 135lbs of lean mass and am strength training so as not to lose it.
-
I don't think you need to be able to do that many reps. I do a lot of lifting in a women's strength training class and we do less reps with more weight. In one class we "ran the rack" doing 2 push presses on each arm, starting at a comfortable weight and moving up in weight with each set of two. I normally use a 20lb…

Just ignore her and let your results speak for themselves. And she doesn't sound like much of a fitness guru ;-)

Ibuprofen, tons of water, make good friends with a foam roller (it will hurt but it will help!) and don't quit! You will acclimate and feel like a badass in no time!

Two weeks ago I changed my goal to -1lb per week to up my calories, I also (per my trainer) upped my protein, added a day of strength training and started using heavier weights on my conditioning days. I've lost 5 lbs and an inch and a half just off my waist. In TWO WEEKS! Plus I don't have that bummed out feeling of being…

Does anyone know does this apply more to people on the thinner side? I'm thinking about starting weight training but as I'm currently still obese I doubt I'll see much muscle so it will be hard to distinguish this from weight gain through fat. But as I am bigger anyway is it more likely it would just help my…

I was having the same problem and my trainer told me to up my protein, add a day of strength training and use heavier weights on my conditioning days. It worked almost instantaneously. Broke a FOUR MONTH plateau!
