  • :blushing: Guilty of breaking a few Some of those are hilarious!
  • Lemon Shrimp & Angel Hair Pasta 1 lb shrimp (or more depending on your family size) raw, thawed 1 box Angel Hair Pasta Olive Oil Lemon Juice Lemon Zest Melted Butter (1/2 stick) Salt & Pepper Shrimp: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lay shrimp out on cookie sheet (I put them on foil on the cookie sheet to make clean up faster)…
  • I second the iron level check.
  • Congrats on the PB! I did another 5 mile run this morning and it felt good but now I can't walk. I did P90X legs yesterday and there were 4 huge hills on the run today, so my legs are SHOT! I am happy that with my calorie burn from the run this morning, I had enough calories for pasta for lunch AND dinner today....HEAVEN!
  • I do my long run on either Saturday or Sunday, so my long run that week will be on Christmas Eve morning. I know people say they "love Christmas," but I REALLY LOVE Christmas, so I don't want to take so much time to run then shower & get ready again on Christmas day.
  • Can't help you, but I was about to post on this too!
  • I drink 3 cans of Diet Coke per day. Sometimes more. I reached my GW and am now on maintenance cals and have still lost more even eating maintenance. If it kills me, I'll die happy.
  • Ashlee--I think 1200 is good for someone your size. Maybe try 1300 for 2 weeks though and see if that works? I'm in maintenance cals but I lost .5 lb on maint. I think bc it messed with my metabolism (in a good way). I'm following a training plan for my half marathon in March and I just ran 5 miles. I wasn't dying, it was…

  • I can't believe Christmas is 2 weeks away! Gotta get some good ab circuits in these next 2 weeks!
  • 25.4 miles for the month
  • Just an opinion on the not showering right after part... I totally understand where you are coming from OP! Sometimes, I just have to run errands right after the gym. I know that that is often the only way I can get a work out done that day...you should NOT feel bad about what some people have said about it being "gross"…
  • Like it has been said earlier, BLING! I wear it in public to show that I am married and "off limits." I also just like to see the sparkle out of the corner of my eye, I'm not going to lie. It is a reminder to me of someone who loves me--when I'm staring at the keyboard trying to finish homework frantically, I'm reminded…
  • Glad your school stresses are behind you bfischer! Mine aren't done until the 16th! I did my upper body strength earlier this morning. Going on a date with my husband tonight but part of the date is ice skating, so I will be bundled up, not in a cute dress, haha. Thanks to a run and strength training, I have enough…
  • Great information, everyone! Thanks
  • I'm at 13.4 miles...leaves 86.6 miles for this challenge

  • I think it is very realistic to improve that much in 6 months considering that you are practically doubling how long you have been running (only 6 months for your first 1/2, 1 year for your 2nd half). My time goal is under 2:20 for my first half marathon and I've been running right at a year now (mine is also in March…
  • Thanks TD & Sittingduck! The bike is by far my weakest leg of the tri and as of right now, I'll only be doing Sprint & Olympic distances with whatever bike I buy now. By the time I am ready to do a Half Ironman, I'll have a much larger budget to purchase a high end bike.
  • Thanks Jackson--I am NOT a good rider. I knew the geometry was very different between the 2 bikes but couldn't find (through google anyways) what difference the geometry made based on my riding experience. The bike is my weakest leg by far. For now, I am doing sprint tri's and maybe an Olympic distance tri. By the time I…

  • So I need to just buy the bike for my height range, then all the other adjustments will come after I have the bike, right? Thanks for the info!

  • After organizing my own race last year, I learned the costs really are considerable. The price they are charged just to use the chip timing is quite a bit! Then to have a website domain to register online or print a ton of paper forms, then all the post race food/beverage, then the race bibs, then the extra security, then…
  • Nice race recap there & CONGRATS!!!
  • Yesterday was a 5.5 mile run in the rain & cold. I did negative split it and was happy about that but still a slower pace than I would have liked. It was a great mental hurdle for me though in that I live in the south, where I can run in 90+ degrees on a regular basis so even a 50 degree run feels cold. Now that it's…
  • I only use Under Armour sports bras. I'm not usually brand loyal to that extent except in my shoes, but they wick away the sweat very well and are very supportive.
  • I cannot do yoga! LOL, but really. I know it would take a lot of practice--the only times they offer it at my gym are not workable at all for my schedule and I could never learn it from a DVD (I've tried, haha). I have been mainly using randomabs lately. I really love it & I'm glad you referred me to it! Today is my rest…
  • I've been on maintenance for about 3 1/2 weeks now and I've pretty much eaten right up to my 1880 maintenance calories, but I lost .5 lb. I haven't been on the scale since I went into maintenance so it was a nice surprise. My clothes are STILL getting looser, which at this point is kind of annoying because I'm happy with…
  • And I used to LOATHE oatmeal but I eat it a lot now that I found the flavored instant oatmeals, especially in this cold weather now.
  • Make a salad without the lettuce...no one said you have to have lettuce. Mix tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, onions, etc. and add some salad dressing. Maybe you would like that? And is it all lettuce that you hate? Maybe try fresh spinach leaves (that's what I use instead of lettuce) or Romaine instead of basic shredded…
