Well this weekend was definitely not the most healthy weekend I've ever had. I didn't log foods on Saturday for the first time in forever because I had already decided just to have fun. Now to eat super clean this week to clean myself out =) I'm finally getting to hike a beautiful mountain that I've lived only an hour away…

Where are you guys at this week! Hope you are all staying on track for the first week of October. The time to set your habits is NOW, RIGHT NOW before the holidays come. If we can all set our habits and get in GOOD routines and don't let ourselves make excuses for exercise, we can power through the holidays with losses…

Happy to say I weighed in at 136.5 this week, down .5 lb! I have a shin splint in one leg now and I'm trying to let it heal but my 10K is now 1 month 3 days away and I've only done 1 60 minute run...kind of nervous now! I wanted to be at 8 miles by the time I raced the 10K, not barely at 6! Praying the leg heals quickly! I…

10/1: 3 miles walking 10/2: 1 mile walking Total 4 miles I have shin splints in one leg now...GRRRRR. Trying to let them heal so not running for a couple days. Then tried to go swim today and the pool was closed. Seriously?! LOL story of my life. So I just walked a little bit then did strength training...hoping to get some…

You can do it. There are tons of people on MFP who have had the mindset you described but have lost TONS of weight. You are not a waste of space, never let yourself think that! Get on the scale now to set your starting weight and maybe only weigh in once a week or twice per month, then you are seeing pounds dropped at…

I want to join this if it's still open! I swam my whole life until college, quit for 2 years in college and started again last year. Now I do triathlons so it's hard for me to stick with it and convince myself to go out into the cold to swim when I'm not competing in swimming until April. Looks like you guys do some great…

Try to find healthy alternatives to the food you crave: Special K Cracker Chips are a great alternative to regular chips; Fudgsicles have 40 calories and give you that chocolate ice cream fix; dry unsalted peanuts are a healthy snack you can munch on while getting in lots of protein and healthy fats versus the unhealthy…

Yes, healthy breakfasts again this weekend o3bfischer! I'll be having oatmeal and yogurt before I take the LSAT in the morning! Not going to lie, I am giving myself a treat of eating out for lunch then shopping bc I can't give myself a treat of not doing homework/studying but I deserve something after this stupid LSAT! I…

Not so much with chips for dipping, but the absolute best chip alternative in terms of similarity is Special K Baked Cracker Chips! They have sea salt or sour cream & onion flavors. I eat the sea salt cracker chips all the time, they really taste a lot like Lay's Original chips but instead of 15 Lays for 160 calories, I…

Hoosiermamma- So sorry for your loss. Cancer has affected so many loved ones. :flowerforyou: Welcome to mcctin! SW: 164 (pre-MFP) CW: 137 GW: 135 (ish...maybe closer to 130) Since school started again, I've gone back to some unhealthy ways. Some of the habits are not even that bad, like eating crackers or cracker chips for…

Read this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/279198-running-tip-so-you-are-about-to-do-your-first-race Great info on there & Good luck to you!!

Wow I cannot believe we were in 1st place!!! That is amazing, you guys out to be proud! Loveme-I used the "One Hour Runner" program. There is a thread for it on here and I just "liked" One Hour Runner on Facebook to get the plan. Each week has 3 runs, one is always 30 minutes, one is the "long run" and one is the "medium"…

I really want to do the Race for the Cure this year! I am going to Honduras either that weekend or the next....hoping the next weekend so I can finally do it! I think it's awesome that little Arkansas has the 3rd largest Race for the Cure in the nation!!

Saving this link for later. Great info there!

I've never done the plan but I do drink their shakes as a lunch sometimes when I am too busy to get a meal. They really are tasty (I love cappucino delight and it really tastes like I am drinking a bottled frappucino from Starbuck's).

I think that was a great list! It showed you choices that weren't the obvious like bananas, carrots, broccoli, etc. that you see on every list you look at and foods that you actually crave. Great way to get your fill of "junk food" in the healthiest way.

I'm in Arkadelphia...so of course I have to tell people from outside AR that I'm from LR, lol. Do you guys do anything like 5K's or the Big Dam Bridge, etc.? And elcanela, I'm from Fort Smith originally! =)

Swimming tends to make people super hungry, so I would probably recommend eating dinner after you swim only because if you ate before, then swam, and got hungry again, you may go for the unhealthy snacks or eat a whole dinner again. Again, if the calories work out to allow you two dinners, go for it. I certainly ate two…

Welcome to JJudy! Glad to have you with us! I use an HRM when I exercise but it is a little low on the calories burned, I think. It is strapless and those aren't as accurate anyways, so I usually average what MFP says for the exercise and what my HRM says. I do try to eat my exercise calories back, even if it is by means…

I need something too! My daughter wants to be Rapunzel (she's obsessed with Tangled) and I'm not going to be Rapunzel's ugly mom, so I have no clue!

Wow, I've gotten behind on this thread! Welcome to bz120 & HealthyWayorNoWay! I have been eating extra fruits most days, I did eat extra green beans as my extra veggie one night. Trying to enjoy the last days of decent bananas & strawberries. Cookie, I'll be interested to see how the lower carb & high protein works for…
