  • I'm in! January & February may be low miles on the bike due to wind chill discouraging me from getting out there and I'm training for my first half marathon on March 4 so I'm focusing on running. 0 miles so far
  • I finally found this thread again! Goals for January: Swim: 2.4 miles Bike: 56 miles (Half IM distance...I know the wind chill will keep me from getting out a lot) Run: 75 miles (81 miles on my training plan but realistically know I'll get sick and miss a run or two) Totals: Swim: 0 miles Bike: 0 miles Run: 8 miles
  • Do you have a Crock Pot? I just got one for Christmas and have already found several CP recipes that are cheap, easy, and healthy. Salsa chicken: 1 cup of salsa (you could buy a large jar and use the salsa for several different recipes) 1 can of cream of mushroom soup (Buy low sodium or fat free to make it healthier)…
  • 1. Run my first half marathon. (Goal is to finish but I'm hoping for under 2:20) 2. Sub 28:30 in my 5K 3. Sub 58:00 in my 10K 4. Compete in the Arkansas Triathlon Series (minimum of 4 tri's/duathlons to be "in" the series)
  • They're aluminum unfortunately. I think I'm just going to live with them for now since it's just cosmetic. Thanks for the advice.
  • I decided one of my New Years Resolutions is to not accumulate so much JUNK. I'm going to begin immediately putting trinket toys or other "junk" gifts into a box for garage sales & putting things away immediately after I get home instead of putting them in the "pile" that piles up until I have time to tackle the whole…
  • I can't eat regular Greek Yogurt but I seriously LOVE Chobani Fruit on the Bottom Blueberry Greek Yogurt!
  • In this month & unless I DIE this month, I'm making it! 8 miles running this morning. Total: 8 miles
  • I agree on the training buddy idea, it helps to at least get you to the pool. It sounds like if you can get the suit on & get in the pool, you'll be fine as far as getting a good workout. Vary the distances...don't swim like you would run or bike. By that, I mean don't just swim for 30 minutes straight. Search the boards…
  • Hoosiermamma: My mom does the same thing when we visit & when she has my 4 year old daughter....more eating & baking treats, less trips to the gym. It's definitely understandable but at least you recognize you are slipping into those things, something most people don't realize until it is far too late. I hope you all had a…
  • 8 miles this morning. Total: 8/75
  • Thanks Dawn! There are some great ideas there!
  • Bump....I've been looking for one like this!
  • I read this thread in the forums & I'd love to join this group. I just looked at my training plan and I should do 81 miles according to the plan, but I'm setting my goal at 75 miles for the month. That would be more than I've ever run in a month & realistically, I know my pace will be slower on a few runs or I'll get sick…
  • I have done a mix of increasing miles & doing speed work. By speedwork, I mean I started by: sprinting 30 seconds, walking 1 minute, repeat 6 times. I now do variations of that. I really think gradually increasing my distance has helped more than anything though simply because running a 5K seems so short compared to a 7…
  • Through 12/31 Goals Swim: 2.4 miles Bike: 56 miles Run: 65 miles Totals: Swim: 1.2 Bike: 47 Run: 50.6 miles Missed all 3 of my goals, wow. Mostly due to things out of my control, partially due to a miscalculation on the miles planned (for running). I'll be back next month with a vengeance though! You guys are such an…
  • I've figured it all out except for displaying BPM while I'm moving, but that's minor. My whole training world has just been flipped on it's head by the 310XT. SO glad I got it--thanks to all who advised me to get it & for your help in figuring it out!
  • 95.1 miles for the month... I had a long bike ride scheduled for today but after I got in a big bike crash yesterday, I needed to let my body recover. I have a 5K in the morning, so I'll be SO close! We'll see if I can squeeze in an extra 2 miles at some point tomorrow after the 5K to get my 100!
  • Special K Protein Plus cereal is really good & obviously quick and easy. Quaker instant oatmeal has a million flavors that you can make in 2 minutes. I wouldn't advise vegetables (that does sound bad early in the morning, like you said) but fruits are good. Bananas, grapefruits, an apple, etc. Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage…
  • Thanks! Some companies tech support services don't explain anything clearly at all and I was afraid I'd end up more confused! My husband is about to see if he can figure it out and if not, we'll call Garmin's tech support.
  • Thanks trijoe & hslater for the help...my husband is looking at your responses & seeing if it works now. How do I change the display fields? Right now it has the time across both top quadrants, the pace in lower left, and distance in lower right. I don't see where to change it to 4 quadrants with one of them being BPM…
  • Welcome to TASoto! What is the difference between all of the P90's?? I've seen P90 Master, Lean, X, X2...I have the original P90X and just wonder what the difference is. I hope you can enjoy P90 Master Series fischer! Maybe for Valentine's, Easter, Mother's Day, Birthday you can get the ones you wanted?? I love that new…
  • I have a flexible flat foot and I super overpronate when I run. I got fitted for Asics at my local running store & love them. I keep re-buying the same shoe when they get worn out. I have inserts from the Doctor (I had bunion surgery on one foot a few years ago) that are ROCK HARD to provide the special arch support I…
  • Awesome idea from Evelyn about "listening" to the Bible! I know one resolution is to strength train twice per week through May. One upper body and one lower body strength training session per week. Still working on non-fitness resolutions...
  • The majority of companies clock hourly employees by 15 minute intervals whether you know it or not. By law, the "15 minute intervals" are rounded. Which means she could use 17 minutes on a break and only get clocked out for 15 minutes. If she takes 23 minutes or more, she is getting clocked out for 30 minutes. It averages…
  • I just think the logic of some of these mothers is ridiculous. The mom that started the whole controversy in Target said "Would you want to sit on a toilet in a bathroom and eat your lunch? No!" Sorry, but I wouldn't want to sit on the nasty floor in the middle of clothing racks and eat my lunch either (which is what she…
  • Merry Christmas to all my Last 10 Pounds Club friends! You guys are such a blessing to me & have truly helped me SO much on my journey! Hope you all had a great Christmas! Thanks to winning a competition at school a few weeks ago, I was able to buy a new bike. (I've trained on a Mountain Bike I've had since I was 15 for…
  • Congrats to Jay on getting the infamous Six Pack! Huffdog--good job on all your progress towards a 6 pack & keep working hard! Thanks for all the support & tips on abs training. I've enjoyed this challenge & I'm much improved over the beginning of this challenge, but I'm still chasing the ever elusive six pack!
