The lady with the allergens has a great idea!! Tell them that your body has issues with these foods and, to keep yourself healthy, you must say "NO" to all their offers, unless they are high fiber and natural. How does that sound? Have fun! :drinker: (lots of water)

I agree: popcorn is great, lowsalt and no butter. I have chewable calcium and vitamin pills (caramel flavored). I have those two sweets in the evening--giving me essential vitamins and taking care of my sweet tooth.

Muscle takes up less space than fat for the same amount of weight. Example: 5 lbs of fat = But 5 lbs of muscle = . So you may not have lost weight because you gained muscle. Congrats!!! ;) :drinker: (lots of water)

Water washes the toxins out of the body so our weight-loss efforts are more effective. I try for 8 cups of water a day, because it is good for me, helps keep me functioning better, and (IMHO) helps me lose weight. Hugs, BJB :drinker: (lots of water)

I've noticed that clothing in very expensive stores is sized differently. A size 12 woman in Walmart would be a size 8 in those very upscale stores. I prefer to get a size 12 in Walmart, rather than spend $1000.00 on a size 8. Just my opinion. :drinker: (lots of water)

Good question! I have been counting my green tea bag and water as water, but now you have me wondering. Good luck with the answer! :drinker: (lots of water)

One of our members has this suggestion: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/365227-ripped-in-30-in-november-does-anyone-want-to-join-me Have fun! :drinker: (lots of water)

If you are doing the cooking, replace oils in baked goods with applesauce. And replace regular milk in the mashed potatoes with skim milk. If you must use fats, try for mono or unsaturated oils in place of solid fats of any kind. If you have to choose what type of pasta to eat, go for the tomato-based instead of the…

If you are breast feeding, you might consult your doctor on how many calories a day you can have. 1200 will be a little low for breast feeding. Hugs, BJB :drinker: (lots of water)

The 1200 calories is to go for a 1 lb loss per week. Did you lose a lb a week on weightwatchers? I am using the 1500 calorie diet and not counting exercise calories. This would cause me to lose about 1/2 lb per week and I am much more comfortable with the 1500 calorie diet. If I am having a family celebration (with fatty…

It feels good seeing food in a whole new way, doesn't it? Have fun!! :drinker: (water)

Or, you can walk/exercise in your house in bare feet.... I wear a pedometer (it is part of my cell phone) and walk for a certain time, very quickly (4mph) and get my walking in that way. I love being barefoot. ;)
-
Your cell phone may have a pedometer. Wear it, on vibrate, and walk away those pounds! ;) My daughter works at Walmart and lost down and has kept her size as nicely slim with all the walking, plus she loves green beans and creamed corn--at least 30% of her diet.

Thanks, I'll try it. Enjoy your journey. :drinker: (water) I am 154 and 24.9 body fat. 154 x 0.249 = 38.346 lbs of fat on me. Note, I almost fit into the 21-24% body fat goal for fit folks. I want to lose to 142 and maintain it. I will figure out that info and work on it. Thanks again for the site! ;)

Mac n cheese (boxed, with premade cheese pack) has 320 calories for a 1 cup serving. - 10g fat (90 calories), - 900 mg sodium, - 45g carbs, and - 1g fiber. I just wanted to remind you what is in boxes of noodles and premade cheese, without you having to make a special trip to research this item. Your choice! ;) :drinker:…

You are not alone. You are surrounded by many snackers. We have our good days and bad. The secret is to have more good days than bad and to minimize the damage on the bad days. Last year, I lost a total of 30 lbs, as of Sep 10. In the past 13 months, I gained back 15 of those lbs by giving in to my snacking impulses!! I am…

Fabulous! I hope it works for you. If it doesn't, you can put it on your head and practice proper posture and balance techniques! ;) Have fun! :drinker: (water)

A touch of salt can replace butter or margerine. I realized the reason I loved butter so much was the salty flavor (and I hated the greasy feel). So, I just add a bit of salt to anything I might have used butter on before: Pancakes, etc.

What a beautiful statement! This weight loss thing took years to occur, so give yourself years to ease on down to a healthy weight. This is life-long. One day at a time. A new way of thinking and keeping your body in motion (walking, stretching, etc.) We all need to remind ourselves that we only have this one life. Cherish…

I suggest you walk carefully and do not put lots of stress on the knee until you see your Dr. Do arm weights, waist twists, deep breathing, and keep away from the knee work until the professional checks it out. :drinker: (best of success!)

Let me get my breath back! ;) If I had had this reminder before this moment, I would have checked my breasts much more regularly before now, or at least watched the film a lot! He has very good advice and gives us a little cardio action just watching him!! :drinker: BJB

You can baby wipe, change underwear, and get back into the sweats. That way, you only have to change the outer clothes once and the undies twice.

I'm addicted to Mayo, so I choose high fiber bread (rye wraps, etc.), lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, black olives, bell pepper slices, a touch of mustard, and a tablespoon of the mayo made from olive oil (healthy fat is better than the rest!). I get fiber, vitamins, and olive oil for my body, and especially my joints. Will…

You are right--the advise is so simple, but we all have ignored it until a special point in our life where we say, "I want to be healthy and live a good long life." Another simple choice that I never even thought about until Jan 2010: If your pants start getting tight, do not run out and buy larger pants. Just push away…

Mine wasn't as steady as your's. I lost about 2.2 lbs per week, gaining a little in the middle of the week and losing it again so I posted a loss before the end of most weeks. There were a couple of weeks I did not lose any, but, luckily, most were winners! ;) Congrats on the 40 lb loss! :drinker: (drink lots of water ;)

Interesting pic! ;)

I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic, but I hope you get your Bud. :drinker: (lots of water)

Wear a pedometer and go shopping! ;) It is amazing how much a person can walk at the grocery store and mall. And if you push a heavy food cart, you can count it as pushing a child in a stroller. It can be addicting. I have a pedometer on my cell phone. I get my movement measured and walk to various sites in the game…

It tastes good. It's only 100 calories (right?). The hard part is limiting onesself to one a day! ;) :drinker: (lots of water!)

Doesn't it feel great? ;) Less weight also means smaller chance of heart problems, bone problems, cancer, and other 'old person' problems. Love it! BJB--58yo.
