Congrats on your Ebay 'score!' :) I LOVE TurboFire - it's a lot of fun and I always get a great workout. Don't worry if you can't keep up at first. Just do what you can, keep moving, and try to push a little harder each time you do it! ENJOY!!!

I like the GNC Lean Muscle Meal protein shakes - I'm typically a chocolate fan and the chocolate is good, but I REALLY like their vanilla cream! I like to drink these on the mornings when I hit the gym early. And I agree with TexasNurseMom - I've had both EAS and Muscle Milk and like those, too...chocolate is my favorite…

You don't have to have workout equipment to do a lot of the TurboFire DVDs. But for the strength training, you should have some resistance bands/cords or weights.

I've had the same thing! I had asked my trainer about it when I noticed my calorie burns dropping (using Polar HRM). She put it to me in a way that was really easy to follow. As you get smaller, you're carrying less weight through the same workouts AND your body has gotten fitter and more efficient with performing that…

I went to my local running specialty store and had them fit me for cross trainers - I ended up in Asics Gel 170s and have REALLY noticed a difference in how I feel after doing TurboFire at home or taking classes like BodyStep, BodyCombat, or BodyAttack at the gym. I still wear my Adidas running shoes when I'm actually…

My husband mixes a teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water and drinks it...seems to help him.

The TurboFire DVD set is good. There are various workouts from 15 - 60 minutes, including some intense cardio, stretching, strength training, core work...there's a lot of variety! I agree that a combination of strength training and cardio is important - along with good nutrition! Good luck!

My husband and I both use the GNC Pro Performance Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 - chocolate flavor - and really like it. We think it tastes pretty good mixed with water (even better mixed with milk or, in my case, soy milk), and it really seems to help with post weight lifting recovery (less soreness). The nutrition facts…

While I didn't 'fall out,' I didn't have nearly enough to fill the cups of my old bras and they were caving in here and there, making me look like I had really weirdly shaped boobs! :) That was the incentive I needed to get a few new, SMALLER bras!
-
Funny - my husband has the same model and the same problem right now! I was thinking we'd start with replacing the batteries in the transmitter and the watch/receiver.

Sounds like it could be caffeine withdrawal. Due to health reasons, my husband had to give up caffeine. He went 'cold-turkey' and was pretty sick for about a week. And unfortunately, he didn't JUST have the headaches that wouldn't go away. He thought he had the flu because he was also completely run down and achey. But the…

I've got a 'waffle' (as SweetP88's hubby calls it!). From what a few doctors have told me, I will need a tummy tuck if I want to be completely rid of it. Unfortunately, what I've learned is that genetics also plays a role in your skin's elasticity and I apparently don't have good genes. Boo! I've decided I'm going to give…

I've been using a weight loss program through my gym, which I started in early March. My nutrition coach set my percentages at 50/25/25 and that's worked really well for me - so that's what I've stayed at and still continue to use. Like a lot of other things where diet/exercise are concerned - I think what works for some…

I'm not sure how to post links here, but if you go to youtube and type in Turbo Fire vs Turbo Jam - you can get the answer directly from Chalene Johnson herself.

That's great! It's sometimes hard to see the progress yourself, so it's always motivating when someone else notices it and tells you about it!
-
Thank you! I'm certainly going to do my best to make it a great year!

How about the La Tortilla Factory Low Fat/Low Sodium Tortillas? They're available in my local grocery stores and have 110 cals, 1.5 fat, 120 sodium, 23 carbs, 4 fiber, 1 sugar, and 4 protein.

I have a Polar FT40 HRM and have found that my calories burnt in Body Attack have decreased significantly over the past couple of months...during which time I've lost 26 pounds and gotten in much better shape! I'm almost 40 (a few more weeks of my 30s left!), 5'4" and currently weigh 148. When I was in the 160s I was…

Just as an FYI, the new Polar models allow you to change the batteries in both the watch and the chest strap transmitter. :-)

WOW! Congrats on your achievements and your continuing drive to maintain your healthy lifestyle You truly ARE an inspiration!

I don't mind them, either - but my husband and kids would prefer NOT to eat them. :) I agree with the other comments about the "chewy" texture - I think rubbery would be a good description. I live in PA and can find them in Wegman's and Giant (organic food sections - they're refrigerated!).

Are you doing the one in the Poconos?

No worries at all - if the belt doesn't fit you, you can stick it in your pocket or even in your waistband. Don't let the size of the belt deter you! :-)

Totally agree - if you need a 'sweet,' Hungry Girl has lots of recipes for your sweet tooth that won't break your nutritional 'bank!' She uses canned pumpkin with brownie mix and cake mix in a lot of her recipes (you add NOTHING else - just the pumpkin). One of the other things that "Hungry Girl" is a fan of is "Vita Tops"…

I just bought two cases of the premixed vanilla 14oz. bottles (since they were buy one get one 50% off AND an additional 20% off with my GNC Gold Card). I like to drink one before hitting the gym at 5:30am. They give me the energy I need to get through my workout, but don't weigh me down and have zero prep time. I…

I had used an older Polar model for YEARS and loved it. I just bought a new one in the spring - the FT40. I LOVE Polar and highly recommend them. I finally convinced my husband to use one and bought him the FT7, which he really likes. In addition to wearing it for 'real' workouts, he's even worn it to mow the grass a…

I have Zumba for the Wii, the Zumba "Exhilarate" DVD set, and I take Zumba classes at my gym. I find them all to be decent workouts (lower impact than something like BodyStep or BodyCombat...and FOR ME, a lower calorie burn), but on days I'm doing strength training, they fit the bill and are a whole lot of FUN!!!
-
I love the Biggest Loser videos (CardioMax and BootCamp), Zumba (have the "Exhilarate" set), and my newest obsession - TurboFire with Chalene Johnson. I enter my videos as either aerobics general (Biggest Loser / TurboFire) or Dancing General (Zumba). I have a heart rate monitor (Polar FT40), so I just enter the time I do…
