Make sure you are breathing properly when you are doing planks, pushups, etc. I actually experience something similar, but I get dizzy before my set is even over whenever I'm doing an intense activity in plank or similar position of facing down (pushups, renegade rows, suicide planks, etc.) I try to keep my breathing stead…

Get the Organic, NON-GMO kind and you will be fine eating soy in moderation a few times a week. I stay away from the "fake meats" generally and focus on tofu, tempeh or edamame (which is the least processed). Soy beans and Corn are two crops that the american farm industry have ruined in order to maximize a large quantity…

I recommend that you continue to interview other trainers until you find someone you are comfortable with. (even better yet - see if you can observe them training someone else... discretely - I always watch the trainers in my gym and that's how I would weed them out of consideration or add them to the short list to be…

You can also get Liquid Braggs in a spray/pump bottle so you can use less than if you poured it on - the taste is similar to soy sauce, so you don't need a lot to get the flavor.

bump. So many people ask about spreadsheets to log their workouts, perhaps we can make this a sticky thread?
-
Thanks - I will add more protein shakes - that's easy. often do one a day, but I probably need to bump it to two... I got my spreadsheet from a link that was posted in this group forum. Let me see if I can find it and repost. EDIT: Here it is:…

Is anyone seeing a difference in measurements during Stage 1? I just started the second half of Stage 1 and haven't re-taken measurements yet, but I definitely feel more muscle in my butt and quads (exactly where I wanted them... thank you, squats/lunges!). My scale has not gone down, but I've been eating over my calorie…

 Any extra activity counts! You are doing great. It's a wonderful way to start the day, get your circulation going, and gives you more energy. If you can only work in 15 minutes at a time, a 2 - 3 times thrughout the day, it adds up. Perhaps you can add in a short walk during lunch, or take a 15 minute walking break…

Good for you! I'm only half way through stage 1... can't seem to work it in more than 2x/week.

In addition to possible caffeine withdrawal and what some other posters said about not eating enough calories (Your net calories should be 1700, not 434), it doesn't look like you drank enough water. You mentioned drinking 10 glasses of water, but that really is the amount you should be drinking on a normal day without…

Dear Posters, I'd like to offer a brief explanation of the locking of this thread. It is getting many abuse reports and there are too many disrespectful and argumentative posts to realistically be able to review/edit and leave the thread intact. Respectful debate is allowed, as long as it is done in a mutually respectful…

OK... I think everyone has offered their opinions on these two products and has answered the OP's question. Unfortunately, this thread has evolved into more of a running argument instead of a respectful sharing of information and opinions. Please take a moment to review the MFP Community Forum Guidelines and keep them in…

My personal trainer finally convinced me that to lose weight it is essential to track calorie consumption - there is no way you can work it off with exercise if you are eating too much food, even if it is healthy food. Sounds basic, but I've been athletic my whole life and was always able to maintain a fit and healthy…

WOW! Did you do any core exercises above and beyond NROL4W? Congrats on your accomplishments... very inspirational for the rest of us.

Thanks for posting! I went through a few Michelle Trapp videos and she is really good at explaining proper form and some pitfalls of bad form to avoid. I liked her dead lift video too.... this is an exercise where things can go very wrong without proper form: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hW36j9frZg

The way I understand it, it should go like this: Squats 1 x15 and rest Squats 1 x15 and rest Push up 1 x15 and rest Seated row 1x 15 and rest Push up 1 x15 and rest Seated row 1x 15 and rest Step up 1x 15 and rest Prone Jack knife 1x 8 and rest Step up 1x 15 and rest Prone Jack knife 1x 8 and DONE And yes, you switch off…

This is why we are all here! To get stronger! Push ups are HARD.... and when they become less hard, you make adjustments to your form and then they become really HARD again! I always shake at the end of my sets as I squeeze out the last couple of pathetic looking pushups, but I know I'm working the muscles. Just keep at…

Doesn't sound like sciatic, since the sciatic nerve runs down the back of your leg to your foot. The knee doesn't get involved. Is the pain on the outside of your quad and knee? It may be IT Band. Google for IT Band Syndrome and see if that makes sense. I've struggled with both sciatic and IT Band issues over the years. IT…

I started on Monday and have done the 1A and 1B workouts. I plan to do 1A again tonight. I am in an adjustment period, so not sure how I feel about this program yet. This is a definite paradigm shift for me to give strength training the priority instead of cardio. I have done 30 minute cardio sessions after the workouts,…

I use Vega products as well. Sports (Vanilla) has high protein for the calories. Their meal replacement power in Vanilla Chai is much better tasting, but has less protein for the calories, so I generally stick with Sports Vanilla.

Hi Stacey! I started Stage 1 this week also and did Workouts A and B on Mon/Wed. I also follow with 30 minutes cardio. I haven't been up for cardio on my off days yet, but diet has been pretty on target this week. Did you get sore at all? I only have a little bit of soreness, but not bad at all. Did you take any…

Stage 1 begins on Pgs 139/140 in my book. Within the workout there are page references for each exercise that describe and show pics of each exercise.

I would follow doctor's orders and take the time off. You don't want to injure your knee further, requiring much more recouperation than a couple of weeks. Rest. Ice. Follow doc's care instructions. (maybe some physical therapy would help, also, if your insurance covers?) Come back to the program when your knee is healthy.…

Another thought for consideration: Check out the calorie calculators and free podcasts on www.fat2fitradio.com. the podcasts are full of information and are good sources of motivation and inspiration, too. One of the co-hosts has lost about 100 lbs and they promote lifestyle changes and losing weight slowly and safely.…

Belvedere vodka and tonic. Cheers!

Perhaps try with a medicine ball or a 10lb+ plate or dumbbell? Also having the ball lower on your back will give you more range of motion, so you were heading in the right direction with that refinement.

I would not recommend buying property with a boyfriend with bad credit.
