The BodyBug is a heart rate monitor. I saw it at 24hr Fitness for $299.00. I bought the Polar F11, another heart rate monitor, on Amazon for $160.00 and it is GREAT. The Polar has gotten some really good reviews-I had googled it.

Your poor husband-he sounds very sad...perhaps, it if the foot situation and the pain that makes him sad. Demanding men are hard emotionally-I feel for you (I went through a health crisis with the live-in bf this past summer. We have gone through several, actually). Try very hard not to let him derail the changes you have…

Welcome! :flowerforyou: This is a great, really supportive site-and fun!

I wear mine directly below the bra strap and directly above the sport bra band, under the sport bra, with the Polar icon front and centered. I wear mine comfortably tight. You have to moistened the electrodes first otherwise you may not get a correct reading-it says that in the manual. I haven't had any problems with my…

I can't take credit for this one...but I love it It is easier to keep weight off, than to take weight off

Oh, yes! The vitamins are important. I take a multi-vitamin, fish oil, Vitamin E, and Glousomine/Chondrotin every morning. The bf does the same with the addition of a Metamucil tablet. (ever since he added it-I have heard no complaints from him! Thank God)

WOW: I missed the party! I know this will sound a bit evil, but  I am so glad that I am not the only one that has fallen off the wagon! I have been stuck in neutral since last Friday! The last day I exercised was Sunday. The last day I didn't go over my calories by 1,000-1,500 was Saturday! 4 day! That is…

I like having Oatmeal or Cream of Wheat in the morning. I add ground Flaxseed to both and fruit to the Oatmeal. If I have the Cream of Wheat, I have the fruit on the side. Sometimes I add vanilla yogurt to the Oatmeal. Most of the time I add a bit of honey. For a treat, I will occasionally have a toasted english muffin or…

That's funny! Men need so little to amuse themselves.

Relax. It isn't likely you gained weight overnight, so it isn't likely that you will lose it overnight.

For a lot of years prior to having a gym membership, I worked out with weights at home. All you need, really, is a pair of dumbells and a good fitness magazine. Not fluff kind of fitness magazine, but one that speaks to the whys and hows of the movement. Usually, they do issues with full body that have tear-outs you can…

I have noticed what seemed to be a re-distribution, but what really the result of loss of muscle tone. The only time I have heard of something like what you are describing are those that have gained weight post liposuction. I only know of one woman that got lucky and had weight redistributed to her breast.s Unluckily for…

I am usually able to control myself, but this past weekend I failed miserably! I will be lucky if I maintain this week! Eating all my calories pb before bed or other things don't help me. I am not eating because I am hungry. It is stress. What are some good way to combat stress or break the stress eating? Thanks

Are you in pain or is it sore? In March, I got pain in the hip bone area on my right side. The doctor diagnosed Bursitis. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/bursitis/DS00032. The treatment? NO RUNNING. I was allowed to swim, ride a bicycle, and the uitilze the stairmaster. It took until August for me to feel nearly 100%.…

I tested the HRM when I woke up Sunday morning. I had thought that was best since it was the most likely time all day that I would be relaxed. My measured heart rate went down slightly. I gained about 20 calories on the read out that evening at the gym. The Ellipitcal is is still around 100 calories off for a 30 minute…

You are my hero-I would NEVER let the bf know how much I weigh! :noway: :flowerforyou: Congrats on the 4lbs!

:drinker: Glad you made it through with yourself and your house! :drinker:

He is right-BIG waste of money! I have tried quite a few different ones, and they don't work. What really works is exercise and consuming less calories that you expend. A lot of the beauty and diet industry is, my opinion here, is geared toward making a person feel helpess against the "ravages" of time and our own…

I am assuming you mean body scale and not a food scale...Digital scales are the most accurate. I like my Weight Watchers one. Don't go cheap-you get what you pay for in this case! :flowerforyou: Good Luck

 The bf just left...now I have 1 day and 1/2 of a day to do whatever I like! I think I will spend the better part of the day at Barnes and Noble then the Mall then the gym. I have been thinking a lot about what it means to have a healthy diet. Is it more than just eating plenty of fiber and drinking plenty of…

My Uncle Charlie is AWESOME. I know this is about our goals, but I find him inspiring...I found a e-mail about him in my in-box this morning. (He lives in Ohio, and we aren't a close extended family on my dad's side. My dad wasn't into family-not even his children.) He is 59 years young, and partcipated in The Lake Geneva…

Well, if the HRM is overestimating, then I am in real trouble!

:noway: Is that trully possible? I tried Carob once and soy chocolate peaniut butter ice cream...did not work out for me.

Polar up-date pt 2 (I hope this doesn't become an obession...:ohwell: ) The Polar calculated 200 calories less than the ellipitcal; 60 calories less than the stairmaster; 50 calores less than the treadmill. However, the heart rate was still within a couple of degrees. I am wondering if I did the "test" wrong. You do this…

I wish that would work for me! I find if I have a little ice cream-I buy an ice cream bar from the 7-11-then it cures my craving without doing much damage.
