I love that!!

My kids love that channel. And have come up with some very yummy, and healthy, dishes. If it works for you, go for it!

When I get annoyed that things are not moving as quickly as I would like, I do what you did and reach out for some support. You can do this!! You've done a great job so far! And if that doesn't work, I get out some clothes that either fit or were slightly snug before and try them on. Seeing them fall off never fails to…

 What did I get myself into!!?!! LOL I think today will be a rest day! Good luck to everyone as we beat August to the curb!
-
That is so cool! I love when people notice the changes. Keep up the great work!

They are hubby's. You have to love them, but you don't have to like them all the time! I joined the gym in late May and went every day. Which he laughed at! (You at the gym? We'll see how long that lasts!) And then the nice weather came, so I was walking outside, mowing the lawn things like that instead of the gym. And he…

My sister has this now, and it is a ongoing and very serious problem. They are still trying to determine the cause. But as long as you are feeling well (no weakness, lethargy, headaches) you are probably fine. Next time you are at the doctors, ask about it.

You can do this! Start small. Like commit to drinking 8 glasses of water per day, and that's it. Then stick to it. After a week, maybe add in 20 minutes of walking. Or just that you are going to honestly track your eating every day. Baby steps. Making major changes in your lifestyle all at once is really difficult! Slow…

Many people don't eat when under really serious stress. Believe it or not, I am one of them. (Unfortunately, I eat AFTER the stress is over.) When my Mom was dying, I did the same thing your boyfriend is doing. So what helped? My daughter sat me down (and she's only 19) and told me she was worried about me. She was pretty…

It's kind of scary what we used to do to ourselves, isn't it? Now the question is: what are you going to do about this? I hope you forgive yourself for being human, move on and start again tomorrow. You have done a great job so far! Don't let one bad day derail your progress.

Good for you! And you deserve every one of them!

It means that you are interested in the topic and want to be able to find it later. When you "bump" or comment, it moves the thread to "My Topics" so it is easier for you to find again.

That is so exciting!! Keep up the great work!

As long as you clean off your machines after you use them, don't hog the machines and don't drop the weights with a huge bang, no one is probably going to notice you. And if they do (and it has happened to me) they are very encouraging and supportive. So get to the gym! (And have fun!)

Didn't know they had something like that! Thanks for sharing. OnDemand on cable also has an exercise channel, including a walking at home video. I thought it would be useless, but was really able to work up a sweat. And it was too hot to walk outside and my son had my car, so it was a great way to work out!

Bump I am going back to work soon, and love my Crock-pot when I am working! However, my recipies are not exactly heart healthy!

I am going for 10 lbs in August. As for challenges, the strength challenges should be something you can do at home for those that don't have access to a gym. Maybe curls/situps, lunges, squats, push-ups. You get the idea. Strength training is something I need to do, but don't. (Yet!) For food, my biggest challenge is…

I hope you feel better! People should not be putting you down, period. They don't know your situation. I think that you are making good choices (better than I would have!) when you eat the oatmeal and salads. And you have been successful so far, so don't let them get to you. Continue to make good choices, get in your…

I do both as I find it encouraging right now. I also have an analog scale that is way off-10 lbs heavy and getting on it if I can't get to the gym is not fun. I know I just subtract the 10 lbs, but it is nice to have the scale smile at me!

Noticed that today myself. Went to Burger King (long story-but it was my best option) and got a Whopper, no cheese, no mayo. And it was very salty.

Those sound yummy! And my niece can probably enjoy them as there is nothing there she is allergic to either!
-
What a wonderful story! I'm not quite there yet (the not stressing out part) but I will be. And you give me hope that it won't be too long before I can go to those parties, eat anything (portion control always!) and have fun. And what a wonderful NSV for your ex to share with you! Enjoy your grandbaby! They are the rewards…

Lion King soundtrack (Hakuna Matata) is great for walking to also!

You could do what I did, and just suck it up and go! Really, the people at the gym (at least most of them) are too busy with their own workouts to be concerned about what you are doing. And if they judge, well that's their problem not yours! Good luck and have fun!!

The cake is great! Ignore all the know-it-alls. They drive me crazy whether it is fitness/nutrition or how to best motivate a classroom of adult learners, everyone has their own style and as long as it is working MYOB! By the way, my niece is allergic to nuts and eggs, so that cake is great for her at birthday…

I met with a trainer the first week I started this, and she told me that while weight lifting is good (builds muscle, raises calorie burn) the cardio is where I needed to concentrate to really see weight loss results. 7 weeks later, I am down 18 lbs. I would say it is working for me!

We had a week-long family reunion (and all the ensuing drama that goes with 10 siblings, 8 of their spouses, 24 neices and nephews, 5 children of my own and 1 grandchild!) I changed my calories to maintaince (my goal was to at least not gain weight and I was still only 1 month into this process) and bumped up my exercise a…

First week losses are usually pretty good, but they are still losses!! And they inspire you to keep going. It's why a baby is so cute. Otherwise, all the diaper changing, feeding, rocking, crying could really get to a person! (And I'm a mom to 5!)

OK, this may sound mean, but my biggest inspiration is revenge. From the catty comments in high school (and that was 30 years ago!) to more recent run-ins with family, I want to show them I can do it and to show them up. (I told you it was kind of mean!) But it gets my butt out of bed and exercising. It helps me say "no…
