  • 1. I used to think if I sat really still in the car that people passing me would think I was a statue. 2. That the car didn't move, the road moved and the gas pedal and steering wheel just controled how fast the road moved
  • It's really all that works for you. I'm not really a breakfast person. I try to have something before work just because once I get there, it's crazy. However, I keep emerald almond "breakfast blend" in my desk so when I want something I can have it. I'm kind of the same way, I'd rather save it for later. But, i exercise at…
  • The more the merrier. Great place for support here. You can add me if you'd like
  • I didn't give up anything. I just pay closer attention to amounts. There are things that I don't eat as much of or as often but when I want it, I get it.
  • I've done it about 3 times. I just purchased it about 2 weeks ago and had 2 long weekends in a row where I was gone so I haven't been too consistent. I did notice that even with a few days in between, my 3rd time was WAY easier. Don't get me wrong, I was still exhausted at the end but I was able to move this morning. I…
  • You can add me if you'd like to. I'm on here ALL the time!
  • I live in Montana and I LOVE the snow. I don't do much sledding, skiing or other snow-y activities much anymore but I love the peaceful and cozy feeling that I get from the snow.
  • Mine has been open, mainly because when I started using MFP, I wanted advice for how I was eating. Now, I know the drill. I log a few days a week, never on the weekends because I'm gone. I almost NEVER "complete" my diary at the end of the day and for the most part I found if you don't complete it, then no one really looks…
  • I think it's because some people get really discouraged by seeing the daily fluctuations even if they know they're there. Personally, I weigh at least every morning and most evenings before bed. I don't log it until my AM weight has been the same for several days, that's when I know I've actually lost the weight. I feel I…
  • If you don't have a food scale, GET ONE! I was guessing on what 4oz of meat was or 2oz of noodles and I was way over estimating. Logging is great but you have to be accurate for it to make a difference.
  • I'm on here ALL the time. More than FB and pretty much everything else. More friends and support always help! I've been on here about a year and a half have made steady progress. I'll be the first to admit there have been weeks where I don't keep track as much or don't exercise, but I've always maintained, haven't gained…
  • When I'm sick, I am never as hungry anyway. I don't force myself to eat if I'm not hungry and I don't track anything when I'm sick either. I also don't exercise until I'm sure it's all gone. I don't want to risk overdoing it and ending up sick again because it wasn't gone.
  • Usually if I have a craving that strong, I have it. I find that if I REALLY want something, it's easier for me to give in and have it. If I put it off and put it off, when I finally do give in, I'm more likely to binge on it. If I have whatever I'm craving, when I'm craving it, I can usually stick to 1 piece or a handful…
  • I started Jillian Michaels 30 day shred today. I totally got my *kitten* kicked! I wanted to quit but then she said "if you feel like you're dying then watch ____" so I did that and kept going! day 1: Jillian: Shar:0
  • You totally can!
  • Welcome everybody! THis place is the best! Anyone can add me if they want!
  • One thing that helped me when I started was only to track calories. I found that in order to really get in the grove and stick to it without going crazy, I had to ignore the sugar/protein/fats and just go for calories. I noticed that after awhile, I was making better choices in general and all my foods pretty much fell…
  • I started at 208 and am now 145. So that's 63lbs total I pretty much just use MFP like it's designed. I stay within my calories, I eat my exercise calories back (or at least try to). I have "free days" and I didn't cut anything out. I do much better with specific questions so feel free to ask and I'll be happy to share…
  • Hello and welcome! You can add me if you want. Tons of support around here!
  • I noticed that the longer you exercise, the farther apart MFP gets from my HRM. Example - If I exercised 30 minutes, any type, the numbers were usually 30-50calories different. If I exercised 45-60 minutes, the numbers were 100+ different depending on the exercise. Not really sure why, maybe it has to do with your heart…
  • Hi! No better place for support! Feel free to add me if you'd like!
  • That I still have hot coffee and toys on my desk to distract me from the working thing...
  • I've always had a hard time with this! I've tried everything from eating dinner right when I get home from work to eating later in the evening. Nothing really helps. I always try to save calories for a snack and I try to make it something that is in pieces so I can pace myself and make myself eat it one at a time. Eating…
  • I'm 5'0. I started at 208 and currently at 145. It's taking me a long time and I have about 25 more lbs to go before I hit my goal! Feel free to add me!
  • Hi and welcome! You can add me if you'd like. I'm on here all the time. It's the best way I've found to be held accountable and lose consistently!
  • Add me if you'd like! I'm on here ALL the time!
  • A little sugar and creamer. My favorite is the Creme Brulee!
  • Due to Illnesses in December and January, I kind of dropped the ball a bit. Didn't gain anything but didn't lose anything either. Back on it now so I understand! Add me if you want!
  • Betty Crocker also has a "Crock Pot" cookbook. I got it at Costco for like $12 bucks. There's a ton of stuff in there!
