  • Helen - thanks I love this shirt! Hope you feel better. So happy your scan went well! Those little taps are so exciting, congrats! Speedyme - my DH keeps me up at night too! And now baby kicks wake me up in the am. I'm sure you will feel yours soon as well. Good job with the walking! Xosugarbabie - I'm sorry you felt bad…
  • Indeed! No need to leave MFP! Join us! For the record - you do need extra calories after first trimester and it's expected and good for the baby to gain weight using pregnancy. And there's nothing wrong with having cncerns about weight gain and wanting to stay fit during pregnancy. Everything else is bunk.
  • Amberwebb - congrats on all the movement, it's a great sign. Might be feeling more cause of your placenta's position, your babies position, etc. I had that for a while and then was sad when it calmed down. A leash sounds like the safe way to go! Brunettewife - great job on your 5k! You did the right thing taking it easy…
  • Currently shooting for 270 days without and it's fine  Seriously, most of my family doesn't drink at all and we get together and still have a great time. A great way to cut cals would be to, after the 30 days are up, decide to either drink really rarely or not at all. Add processed sugar to the list and most people…
  • I am interested in cloth diapers, but kind of afraid of mess/stink and laundry loads. Thinking to start with gdiapers. Thoughts?
  • Sas- your trip sounds like it will be loads of fun, make sure you update us on the US before you go! Kelley - glad your baby moon was a success and it sounds like hubby really stepped up to the plate! I'm with you on trying to maintain up until 3 rd trimester! Thanks for the list. What's "tummy time"? Brandy - congrats on…
  • Can't wait to get this but forcing myself to tick with her older DVDs then use this system as part of a post-preggo routine!
  • Jcgutierrez - congrats on your 90% chance baby girl, lol! Let us know how the recheck goes Sas - hope that pain went away! Seems there are all kinds of reasons -growing uterus, round ligament, baby kicking weird places, etc for us to get these pains! Myiceisonfire - I get a tiny cramp every blue moon, assume it is uterus…
  • I'm still not sure if my issue is wheat or gluten, but a gluten-free diet covers it for me: - WEIGHT GAIN 5+ pounds overnight that takes weeks to go away. I tried some during this pregnancy cause I heard some women lose their allergies while preggo and the overnight weight never came off! :noway: - Skin rash/acne…
  • i miss whole wheat, wheat thins, grape nuts, barley, etc. can get imitations of the naughty stuff (except cheez-its!!!) but nothing matches that wheaty taste :frown:
  • wow, these look like a great sandwich bread solution rather than the high carb, higher calorie gluten free products!
  • Totally agree with this too!
  • I do wish you luck! Popcorn is something I usually just have to budget for calorically cause i love it. since it's just you and the teeny boppers if you get a smaller size (no more than a medium) no one should overdose!
  • Mrs jax - that's quite a bump you have there! You look legitimately preggo for sure! My scrubs fit but they're starting getting a little snug over the tummy this week Emily - We are expecting a boy! hope you're feeling better! I had a colonic a few times when I was in soCal and liked it but I've moved since so I have to…
  • This is an interesting discussion. My DH is very into fitness and into eating whole foods but he is very against calorie counting and such. I think the fact that i'vE been banned from discussing calories may help me because I want my kids to pick up on fitness and balanced eating of whole foods but I don't want them to…
  • Sarah – I feel like most of my weight gain has been in my thighs and hips, sheesh! I definitely get achier faster despite the fact I never really stopped working out. I think it’s a hormonal thing. Will be hoping the best for your US tomorrow! I rarely go to baby showers so I don’t know what to expect at mine either except…
  • oh yes but I packed on too much weight during first trimester when I wasn't supposed to gain and hadn't changed my diet, so I'm trying to maintain for a bit to even things out! Congrats on the scale fix!
  • I have stalled on my weight loss many times and now have a related problem. I eat at or below maintenance during pregnancy and I still gain! Wtf? I thought I would have to eat extra calories for that but apparently not! Not sure what the answer is.
  • I think you would get great results with that routine!
  • Hey, where did we all go? Catching up myself! Amber - Glad to hear your LO is better. DH and I argued about the first name for a long time, still haven't settled on a middle. DH was the one turning down all my ideas and that was frustrating! Sorry to hear your MIL is mean, definitely wouldn't chose her name. However, my DH…
  • yes! It's true! It's us type As out there I guess, lol
  • I workout at my little apartment gym - the tvs - dropping/clanging weights - talking on the phone - talking with a friend - heavy perfume or other stink Or basically anything that disturbs my iPod groove or breathing. Best if no one else is there but if they are quiet I don't care what they're doing and I am even happy to…
  • How do you know you burn that much (seems like a lot)? Do you wear a HRM? If you do it's ok to count, if you don't I wouldnt
  • True I guess it depends on what you consider nice abs. I like flat abs with a little definition for a woman, and I do feel most people are not missing the rectus abdominus so much as they are covering it in fat and failing to engage the ta and obliques. You cut off the rest of my thought where I talked about lowering body…
  • Ah, my favorite trainer! I have all of Jillian's DVDs outside of the biggest loser set. 30 day shred started me on the path to fitness and changed my body, I still love going back to it. The 3-2-1 system is awesome, and she brings it back in different but just as effective if not even more effective ways in Ripped. Extreme…
  • I agree with the pp. Great abs are about engaging your core by pulling your belly button in towards your spine (transverse abdominus) in everything you do (squats, etc) and getting to a low body fat (I used to have decent abs before the pregnancy anyway). But for straight up soreness I love burpees or really any…
  • Not too much of a stretch, I have done all 3 for sure. They are 3 different programs and it depends on your starting fitness level. I would start with 30 day shred to get a decent-->great level of strength and cardio conditioning for $10 and 30 minutes a day. p90X is a great system, it focuses on strength with a little…
  • Kristi - catch you on the flip side, I'm sure you will be another success story for our group! MrsJax - water actually helps heartburn, just drink it like crazy when you're not eating. I'm glad the meds are helping though. I believe you're just going through a growth spurt, try to eat maintenance and not less and it will…
  • Congrats! Your weight gains will depend on where you're starting from, as long as you're not underweight you can eat maintenance 1st trimester, then tailor your calories after that to your final weight gain goal (25lbs or so for normal bmi). Most importantly, eat balanced and take your prenatals and initiate prenatal care!…
