  • The 1st time I got pregnant it was the month after I casually stopped using birth control to "see what happens", so it was a shock. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage so we were left with a hole. I had one period afterwards as instructed and then got preggo again! I must admit, I noticed thick cervical mucus around the time…
  • I will make a kale smoothie (raw kale, carrot juice, fruit) to eat with 2 hard boiled eggs, or treat myself to egg, potato and turkey sausage at the cafeteria, very rarely a gluten free bagel or something if I am craving carbs If hungry midmorning (usually!) I will usually have Greek yogurt or a banana with some peanut…
  • Thanks sas, things got better, hopefully the moodies will stay away for all of us. I posted a new profile pic - I'm getting huge! How did that happen with no weight gain?:noway: Where is everybody? :frown:

  • AFM - could be better. After months of doing great DH and I have had more and more arguments over the last few weeks. He used to have a bad temper years ago when we were dating that resurfaces from time to time, but recently it's been constant. I think it's his way of handling stress but in my hormonal state I just can't…

  • sas – sorry to hear you’ve been so wiped out, hope you start to feel better. Best of luck with the move. You’re lucky your DH is pampering you, mine will probably make me do all the packing. Your calories seem fine to me, if you find you are gaining to fast you can dial back a little. Christina – Congrats on moving your…

  • Destiny – thanks, I like your bump too ☺. This yucky stomach does suck but my little guy’s movements are making up for it so far! I hear you on the squished, took a quick peek of my LO on the ultrasound at work and he is just packed in there! Glad to hear your daughter did well at the doctor’s office, but sorry things…

  • Bumping for my motivation for 2 months from now!
  •   love this one! This thread is interesting, I was a non drinker most of my life but since grad school I have a drink every blue moon (the type where the alcohol is disguised). Most of my family are also non drinkers. We just say we don't drink and no one minds, especially if we drink/eat something…
  • Hmm, what a rare problem! At the same time, since you're interested in acting I see their point. I agree they should tone it down, but I guess it's like people telling me to study when I wanted to go to medical school, it's part of the beast. Theatre is more forgiving I think but if you are going to have to decide if an…
  • Taldie - congrats! Missconfidence - I think we all experience anxiety from time to time. I tend to cope with it by using denial and procrastination to keep myself calm, am starting to get more stressed though! Hope you are well MrsJax - great job getting active again! Emily - glad you enjoyed the birthday party!…

  • what a silly thread. I shouldn't post but I have nothing better to do  . I agree, cardio is cardio, and the workout is dependent on who is on the machine. I can make any machine hard or easy, great burn or poor burn. As a doctor I will tell you the elliptical should NOT be discounted. It's much safer on your joints…
  • Destiny – yay! Glad to see you here. I like Serenity a lot (of course I also like Quinn). I am also irritated with some family member’s perspective on the name we chose, so I know where you are coming from. Have fun at the zoo, and don’t forget if there’s a hotel gym you can get some time in there as well. sas – Happy…

  • I was searching for something to get me out of my lazy funk and found this thread. Definitely feeling more and more lazy as my pregnancy progresses, but I'm afraid if I stop pushing myself to exercise then everyday activities will get harder and I will not want to do anything until my due date, after which I will have a…
  • Yikes, I've been lifting heavier than that while pregnant! But my uterus is still growing.... Although, seriously there has been a link between placental abruption during pregnancy and heavy lifts, especially when associated with breath holding. But that's about all I got
  • Try the fit, fabulous, and pregnant group. We are all watching what we eat and exercising (i'm one of the few slacking on logging). I personally find it hard to find groups, so I'll provide the link http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/1903-fit-fabulous-pregnant
  • I love Udi's sliced bread and bagels! The bagels are great toasted.
  • Kristi - I've heard of maternal vitamin k shots but apparently people are doing oral? It's also not clear about the leukemia (some studies say no risk) and the shot is supposed to prevent bleeding in the head. I think unless the birth is traumatic I will refuse though. Here's some…

  • Kelley - definitely you should consider Vegas, a family might enjoy circus circus and other kid centered fun hotels. Good luck with your agent test and with your toddler - sounds like fun times are ahead for me, lol! Sounds like you have been busy, keep up the good work! Amanda - lol at the wood explosion, hope your hubby…
  • Kelley - yeah, Vegas is great for the food and the shows, you should go! I agree the vit K is for a deficiency that can cause bleeding problems. I think it's good to administer but an advantage of BF would be that it can come from me. Still don't know how you are functioning without knowing the sex. Do you have dual names…
  • Tara- super exciting! I'm sure I'll log on and read your baby story any day now! Kelley- Happy shopping and best of luck on the nursery! Yeah, the institution of the drops was critical years ago because it did safe a lot of babies from blindness, and there are definitely women who contract STDs during pregnancy and don't…
  • Jalyn – Your OB is likely thinking you will end up close to 35lbs which is within range. All we can do is continue to eat right and exercise anyway, it doesn’t make sense to frantically count and slash calories since our bodies are likely doing what they need to. How exciting about your shower! Your business sounds cool as…
  • Calcium and moderate exercise, as well as birth control pills have been shown to help. Talk to your doctor
  • 10lb weights are great to have around, but the rep count in 30 DS is high. Depends on your strength, mbut I would have lighter weights available
  • I tarted with 3s but had to use cans for the shoulder raises, now I use 5s with 8s for chest press. Love that workout but have been more focused on ripped and her other DVDs recently
  • Ha – towards the middle of week 28 and finally posting on this thread! Gonna jump in and drop some commentary – y’all need to pick up the pace in here LOL: Kelley – long time no see. I can definitely identify with the twinges to leave nearer to family and the Caribbean time. I still remember my family being stunned when…
  • sas - are you any better? Brunettewife - your activity plan sounds like a good one. Glucose testign should be 24-28 weeks, so they are running out of time. You should ask if they are going to do it or not helen - your stage of pregnancy was awkward for me as well, but I then I just stopped gaining and my belly is still…
  • Awww, sorry! Ginger ale and peppermint tea (drunk in close proximity) helped with my heartburn. Also Zantac and tums are safe for pregnancy, try also elevating your bed or at least lying on mysore pillows. Benadryl is a sleep aid that is safe for pregnancy as well. Feel better!
  • Hello ladies! myiceisonfire – been having weird dreams for a while now, my last two were about bleeding and DH and I getting a divorce, so I’d just as soon not have them! Yahyamommy – thanks, I’m already in love with him, watching him yawn in 3D was amazing, how did he know to cover his mouth? Your weight gain…
  • yahyamommy – I’m sure a lot of us have an extra kg of poop/water we don’t need, just stay hydrated and eat lots of fiber helenmelon – yeah, I feel much better, my rapid weight gain was frightening me! With your boyfriend’s experience he could probably deliver your little one, huh? Sorry to hear about all the…
  • The tandoori stuff is pretty healthy but with your cals you could spring for one with a sauce and some naan. I don't suppose you're in n cal, went to an organic ndian restaurant in Berkeley with brown rice and a lot less oils used. It was fantastic!
