You rock the pirate dress

Gorgeous smile :)

My strategy has been to drink lots of water and tweak my meals until they fall within the calorie range.

Congratulations on your progress so far, and coming to MFP! I'm currently in the process of losing 250 lbs, and as of today I am 78 down! Lots of water is a good way to help, and log everything as accurately as you can. You may even want to invest in an activity tracker. I didn't get a fancy one, it was only $35 and well…

I have hypothyroidism, and trying to lose 175+ more lbs. I am drinking water like a fish to boost my metabolism. I'm typically drinking 20 cups or so per day now.

Ah, ok! I thought exercise reduced the tally, didn't realize it was adding to the goal.

I am a creature of habit, so I mostly eat the same thing every day. Dinners are wild cards however. In the morning I eat 2 servings of oatmeal, during the week I have a grilled chicken sandwich and cheddar sun chips for lunch, and on the weekends I'm currently eating 2 corn dogs for lunch. I have been purchasing lean…

Maybe it's based on the 5 week calculation when you complete your daily food diary...

I am, but it's the target number that changes, not the tally number

I too vouch for Rage Against the Machine!

You can't really make up for excess calories, so don't starve yourself thinking you're balancing out. That's what leads to the overeating. Each day is a new day, treat it as such. We take this journey 24 hours at a time.

I don't have my tracker linked (wasn't an option). The plot thickens...

Pretty much the entire Transformers the Movie soundtrack (animated film from the 80s). It has what I like to call inspirational metal. Dare, You've Got The Touch, Nothings Gonna Stand in Our Way, etc.

*facepalm* can't post the pic from phone...

Here is mine so far, 76 lbs down.

Fantastic! Awesome job :)

There are a lot of things motivating me, but the biggest has been a couple of health scares. I suffer with high blood pressure and recently low blood pressure...both cases were extreme enough that someone in the medical field asked me "How are you still alive?". Also, I'm not diabetic even though there is family…

You can add me if you'd like. I deal with knee issues myself!
-
You can add me, I'm working on losing 250+ and am 76 down so far.
-
Just tell yourself "Meh" and do something else...this has worked for me so far. Be strong!

I've always been overweight, even though growing up I rode a bike, hiked, played basketball during PE, etc. I will admit I did spend time in front of the tv and ate for the most part typical southern food, but still I was active because all of my friends were skinny and I had to try to keep up. Much later in life I was…

My target intake is 2650, which I'm usually a good bit under. Also, you need to take the other values into consideration. I do fine with my calories, but I am having a hard time keeping my sodium down.

You look great! :) We are our own worst critics.
-
I'm the same way, I look to find the healthiest options within what I like to eat. If you get fries, get a small and eat slowly. Since you're social, talk more than you eat :) You don't have to eat as fast as everyone else.

*Super big hugs* There's a percentage of the population that really sucks...and it sounds like she may have issues beyond being a jerk. Don't let it get to you, you look amazing and are doing great! :)

Just thought I would share, there's a bigger difference than I thought! Obviously I still have a long way to go, but this is encouraging!
-
You are awesome and doing great! Don't get discouraged by the Captain Oblivious' in your life!

I am in a similar situation! I was 511 last October and am currently at 435. This is quite inspirational! Thank you for sharing!
