I can think about it for both heat and cold temperatures. When it's cold the partial pressure of oxygen in the atmosphere decreases a tad causing your HR to maintain a good flow of oxygen. Your respiratory system also warms the air you breathe a bit which uses up energy. It's similar when you drink cold water instead of…

I started workout around age 15 and mostly followed conventional wisdom of my peers. It took a while before I started researching for myself and making better decisions. "Good decisions come from experience, and experience comes from bad decisions. " Either get someone he looks up to and get them to give him proper advice…

They have many health benefits. I think it's one supplement I would recommend to everyone. I use flax in everything I make and take at least 3 fishoil caps a day.

Boiled, scrambled... I love omelets! I actually have a tub of egg whites in my fridge. From time to time I'll mix it with juice or something and just drink it like that...

Just a personal opinion. They use this to tighten up troublesome areas before a contest or modeling shoot. It removes excess water so it gives the appearance of skin being tighter. It's only temporary fix and I don't think it's a good idea to use this.

At the risk of sounding feminine I'll offer some personal experience. Use lotion, exfoliate your skin, and drink plenty of water so your skin doesn't get dry. Fish oils also help... I started working out when I was 14-15 and unfortunately my arms/chest grew really fast (42'' chest , 32'' waist 16'' arms all at age 16!). My…

Sometimes I mix in pineapple or strawberry jam. FF CC is probably the most amazing source of pre-bed protein I can think of and up until last week it had been a staple in my diet for 3 years.

I've never done any recreational drugs or drank alcohol.

If you go to the top and click on the reports tab you can get a nice graph of your net calories for the day. I'd be interested in knowing if it was WHAT you ate as opposed to the zig-zagging. If you have the time feel free to keep my updated.

I personally wouldn't bother. Lowering calories even further for me would make me want to cheat later on. If I had a snack out of my calorie range normally I'd just be a little bit more active to make up for it.

Used to drink 1 cup a day and during finals week I'd drink maybe 2-3 a day but I stopped a week ago and switched to tea. Almost tastes the same without the caffeine.

I stopped eating McDonald's after I realized the ingredient profile of a Big Mac looks the same as a deodorant stick. Drink some orange juice or Gatorade.

Most of my pair of jeans fit correctly without a belt at 187lbs but when I get to 184-85lbs they become lose and require a belt. At 182 it's a lost cause.

I'm in. At 189lbs right now so 184lbs is the goal by July.

Wrist, face, legs... then waist... I have abnormally large arms and chest which don't seem to go away.

Try switching to carrots, broccoli, popcorn... Also try to keep busy. If you get hunger pangs just think of something else to quickly occupy your time.

Feel free to add, I've got 15 lbs in the next 2 months to lose.

Unless you have Phenylketonurea :) Kinda makes me curious about all these people saying they get headaches after drinking diet sodas containing Aspartame.

Supplements aren't regulated by the FDA. Because supplement companies don't make drugs to cure or treat an illness the FDA has no oversight on them. There is practically no regulation and sometimes inconsistent quality. Unless there is proof of a supplement causing harm to people there is no oversight of the manufacturing…

Yeast is a Fungi (eukaryote) not a prokaryote (bacteria). It's only purpose is to be used as a leavening agent. It ferments sugars in warm temps and then dies at higher temps. I don't know what you mean by bacteria in the blood? Also the Glycemic Index is relative and I'm sure using different sources of CHO has an effect…

For nutrient partitioning based on Calories it might be easier to use macronutrient ratios. 40/40/20 (Carbs/Protein/Fats) is what I use.

I'm trying to find an article in Behavioral Neuroscience where a study showed diet sodas caused people to eat more Calories than non-diet soda drinkers. Right now I can only find an article in Scientific American (http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=artificial-sweeteners-confound-the-brain). Here also…

This might also have something to do with the fact all Calories aren't the same. Thermodynamically the amount of energy needed to burn 2,000 kcal is always the same but the affect different macronutrients have on metabolic pathways is different. They have different physiological responses. A good example is when people do…

I'm in. ~ 9 mile jog tomorrow.

My face, arms, and legs are the first to lose fat while my mid-section is a tad more stubborn. Unfortunately there is no such thing as spot reduction of fat since it has to do with genetics, hormonal factors (cortisol), and adrenergic receptors. The last place you lose fat is the first place you gain it back.
