  • Hi Carol, welcome to the group!

  • The packers are here today. I stayed up until 3:30 this morning getting ready for them. I haven't had time to read a single word yet. I'm going to go along with whatever you two choose. Tomorrow all of my stuff gets moved to storage. Maybe I'll hit the road on my cross country adventure on Friday or Saturday. I'm driving…

  • I'm in the final push right now - 2 more days until the movers arrive. I haven't read a single word of our book yet!

  • Changing it and moving to a different book is fine with me, too. I can purchase something on the road. That would be fun!

  • I decided to buy it for my e-reader. I'm in the middle of packing up my house for the next week and then I'll be on the road, traveling across country for the next 2 weeks. I plan to read it along the way when I have a few minutes. I'll be traveling with 2 cats, so I don't know how much time I will have, but I will need an…

  • It's my pet peeve, too. I've seen this on other weight loss web sites - not only by participants, but by the professionals responding on the website (specifically, the biggest loser website).
  • I'm looking for Nano today.

  • It's called Death Benefit; have you read it?
  • I saw the previous book, too. I am fine starting with that one, if agreeable. It would be easier to get from the library.
  • Maybe we should start a new thread called March book. I don't want to confuse any potential new group members.
  • That's fine with me.
  • I finished the book! I was a bit disappointed in Valentine's maturity level in this book, but then I was reminded that she was only in her mid-thirties. I have to say, although Gianluca seems like a great guy, I just don't see how he can be right for Valentine. Anyone else think that? Any ideas for April?
  • Thanks for this post. It was extremely helpful. I can go for several months without a binge but I inevitably end up binging again. I always seem to forget about the connection between eating and feeling and I go straight to the guilt and then I get lost for weeks or even months. So, thanks again for this post and this…
  • I'm at the part where Valentine's airplane is descending into Buenos Aires. I'm happy to keep this group going, too.
  • I'm just checking in. I'm 1/2 way through Brava Valentine. Still enjoying it; just enjoying it sloooowwly.
  • I haven't read Molak'i but it sounds intriguing. I once rode a mule down the edge of a steep mountain to view the leper colony.
  • I'm still at the wedding, actually, they just arrived at the restaurant for the reception. I hope to catch up with you today. The first thing I noticed is the start of the book involves a wedding. I wonder who will get married at the beginning of the third book???
  • I've never met any authors. That sounds so chic. Have a great time!
  • I'll be starting Brava Valentine today. Do you think she pronounces her name the same as St. Valentine's day, or would she pronounce it like Valenteen, which is the way I would pronounce it if there was an 'a' on the end - Valentina, like her father calls her. Or maybe both ways?
  • I'm going to the library today, too.
  • I'm fine with that idea, too. I'm leaving it up to you (because the January book was my pick).
  • That's really great that you've seen the Christmas windows in person. I never have, but would like to someday. Being single (actually I'm divorced, but I was only married for 7 years, so I really do feel like I'm single), I appreciate the sentiment that being single is a life. The Robin Cook books available in my library…
  • Yes, I would like to read a Robin Cook novel.
  • Yes, I admire her for giving him the benefit of the doubt. She is a kind person; we need more kind people in this world. I really like her attitude - this Cinderella is going to make her own shoes and not cram herself into someone else's. Great advice, don't you think? I'm finished with this book and would love to read the…
  • bump for later
  • I only have about 30 pages to go! I'll jump in with the discussion when I'm done. I'm at the part where Valentine has just returned to NYC from Capri and things seem awkward between her and Roman on the ride home from the airport.
  • Prostrate. too funny!
  • I'm glad vegan is working for you. I didn't have the same experience with it. I'm certain I ate "right" because I learned how first-hand from a doctor who is vegan and has published many books about it. But I had many unpleasant side effects from it. I've also tried low carb and that didn't work for me, either. I have…
  • That's so funny! I was thinking of reading the second one, too. I think it's a trilogy. I really liked the way she interacted with her ex-boyfriend at the swanky party. I like her confidence. Oh! and the church scene with the shoe was so unexpected!
  • You're finished! I'm only on page 50. I'm so impressed with her descriptions; I just love the way she writes. So, I've been going back over it and rereading some things just to enjoy the pictures she evokes. It looks like Valentine is going to have an interesting love interest, and maybe her grandmother, too. BTW, I'm…
