Just get in there and do it. I think most of us were pretty nervous the first time...but a few workouts into stage 1 you will feel like a beast (in a good way, of course) :) My first time trying Stage 2B workout, I did the cuban snatch, which requires laying face down on a bench at an incline. On about the the 3rd rep, the…

First B workout today. Reading back through this thread it looks like I'm not the only one who dislikes stage 2. I'm just hoping I can get 3 workouts in a week so it will go by quickly. Starting stats: Deadlift from box: 80#, but I just did the basic deadlift - will try to add the step or box next time Split Squat: 12#…

Did my first stage 2 A workout today. I was not expecting it to be so long or so much work! I saw 2 sets of 10 reps for each exercise and thought it would take less time than stage 1 - I was wrong! Including warm up and stretching it took just over 60 minutes. I can't even imagine how long the B workout will take! Starting…

I just realized my exercises were a little off...oops! Jackknife should be in A. For B: Swiss Ball Crunches: 8 with 10lb medicine ball at chest level -- 15 with 35lb disk on chest

Haha, thanks, but no I definitely can't do a pullup or chinup yet. That would require lifting myself (200 lbs), and I've still got a ways to go before that. But my goal is to be there by the end of Stage 6 like the book says!

Go to File, then Export to Google Spreadsheet. Should open up a new spreadsheet you can save to your computer and enter your own information.

Check out the book "New Rules of Lifting for Women"

Hi everybody! I've been stalking this thread for a while now but haven't posted. I'm doing S1 5B today and loving the program so far. I'm working with a bum wrist...have a ganglion cyst that flares up every once in a while. I'm still able to lift with it, I just don't have the range of motion that I need - good thing there…

Feel free to add me as well - I'm just 5 workouts in so not far ahead of you!

Thanks so much everybody!

I'm usually able to find something very similar (if not the exact meal from the restaurant) on MFP. If there are sauces or condiments, ask for them on the side so you can have a better idea of how much you're putting on your food and log it. I also have a restaurants app that has nutritional information for a lot of…

I believe it is intended for 10 days at each level. I was getting way too bored doing level 1 every day so I started alternating level 1 and level 2 and now I'm alternating between all 3 levels. I also don't think it is good for your muscles to be worked the same way every day. Like someone else mentioned I hate level 2 so…

I think "Calesthenics (pushups, sit-ups), vigorous effort" would work and enter the amount of time it takes you to do it all. Or get a good HRM and see how many you really burn.

Thanks all! We will definitely take some $1 and $5's for tipping!

Agree! I love a good groupon but this one is a waste of money.

I would look for one that doesn't have the racer back but has the regular u-shape back with adjustable straps. You will probably have to pay a little more for it but it will be worth it. I have one from Champion that has underwire and was around $40 and the Maia from Moving Comfort (can find online at Zappos or at a…

There is a website - p90xcalories.com. I found it to estimate a little high but it can give you an idea. I believe the best way to track it is to get a heart rate monitor - you can get a decent one for $50-60. Then you can create new exercises on MFP for each of the P90X dvd's and adjust your calories as needed per day.

Thanks so much everybody. I have been drinking coffee in the mornings - it's the only way I can stand protein powder so I usually have a cup. I don't think caffeine is my problem...well, not all of it...I think it's the sweet taste and the fizz. I will try the green tea as a couple of you suggested. I really dislike fizzy…

This is fantastic! Thanks! :)

Hi - I said I would report back about my body fat testing this weekend. Based on taking measurements and using the calculators online, my BF% was 46%. On Saturday I had hydroponic body composition testing (weighed under water) and it was 41.3 Big difference. Still very high either way, but almost 5% lower than I thought.
-
I'm having mine tested professionally tomorrow - hydrostatic testing (getting dunked). I really hope it is less than the online calculators tell me, which is 46%. I commented on this so it's in my "my topics" and I'll come back to let you know if the numbers were drastically different.

You should check out the group Eat More to Weigh Less. It is focused on using food as fuel and not drastically cutting calories. I also started out eating at 1200 and lost weight quickly, but killed my metabolism in the process and had a plateau for about 2 months that I'm just now overcoming. Obviously everyone is…

www.p90xcalories.com Although I find their estimates to be a little high, at least according to my heart rate monitor. If you can get an HRM, do it...I find that I work out so much harder when I know if I'm in the fat burning zone!
-
That's amazing - great job! I showed your pic to my husband sitting beside me and he said "Wow that is fantastic"! :)

I would also recommend getting up early to exercise. Or at least planning to. I get up between 430 and 5 every day to have a chance to work out before getting myself and my boys out the door by 7am. My theory is if I set my alarm for 430 and don't get up at least I have the rest of the day to make it up. If I plan on…

Also agree with the Jillian Michaels DVDs. the 30 day shred isn't easy by any means, but the workouts are only 20 minutes so you should be able to work it into your day. And there are modifications for the harder moves until you get used to it. I've also heard that Turbojam (kickboxing) is a lot of fun. I've done the…

Also...do you have an iphone? The Nike GPS app gives a calories burned estimate and it almost always matches my HRM calories within 5-10 calories. That would be a cheaper option for you if your phone has the capability.

I'm not sure what you're able to afford, but I got my Polar FT4 with chest strap for $60, shipping and all from bodytronics.com. I love it! Good luck!

I'm in too - not sure how to sign up either.
