What are your goals? Do you simply want to lose weight? Do you want to be in better shape cardio wise? Gain strength/flexibility/balance, etc? Do you want to gain/maintain muscle and look more toned?
-
Any of those would work just fine, in my opinion the treadmill will work the most leg muscles if you run. But those machines alone won't give you toned legs, to get smaller you'll also want to eat on a calorie deficit. Set up your goals in MFP and it will tell you about how many calories you should be aiming for each day.…

I'm a little confused about your explanation of calorie numbers, but just about everybody on here who does Insanity says that they either gained or didn't lose much the first month. I lost a couple lbs I think but I wasn't really tracking my calories.
-
Sure, I guess it can "work". If by "work" you mean unhealthily drop a few lbs and then probably gain them back the next day. Juice does provide many health benefits if you combine them with a balanced, healthy diet. If you use them to replace two meals a day it just leads to an unbalanced, unhealthy diet.

I have before, great results. I'll do it again, just wanted to do something else for a while.
-
Yeah, that's why I said...some.

People seem to be mixing it with almond milk a lot, does anybody drink the chocolate with just skim milk? I'm allergic to almonds. How is the greenberry?
-
If you recently started exercising you could still be probably retaining a bit of water. Don't panic, you are doing a great job, just keep doing what you're doing for a while longer and hopefully you'll see some results.
-
Yeah if you gained 10 lbs while you were going to the gym regularly you probably gained a some muscle. Just doing Insanity is not going to make your thighs leaner, but doing Insanity and eating on a deficit should make your thighs leaner. It's tough to say where the weight will come off first, depends on your body type…

I've done Insanity before and I'm doing p90x3 right now. Never done T25. P90x3 is easier so far and more manageable, Insanity was a lot more challenging. I'd say if you really want to burn a lot of calories fast, do Insanity. If you want more of a manageable full body workout try p90x3. I would actually say do p90x3 and if…

Everything in moderation.

Well then we shouldn't be comparing a paleo diet to a caveman.

I've never really noticed. I usually get red before I start to sweat, but it doesn't mean anything. I did grow up with a guy with no sweat glands though, but I'm surprised you've never asked a doctor about it before.
-
Uh...cavemen more likely died because of natural causes or lack of medical care (thanks Obama!) than high cholesterol. The fiber from all of the fruits and vegetables they ate likely cancelled out any cholesterol from the red meats.
-
Have you ever asked a doctor about your inability to sweat? It could be that you're not properly hydrated or it could be a medical condition.

If you're not sure how to use a machine just watch someone else, ask a trainer, or somebody that looks like they know what they're doing. As far as what to do and how many reps, you may want to find a beginners program to follow. I hear good things about Starting Strength or the New Rules of Lifting.
-
Try circuit training, you'll get strength and cardio instead of just walking on a treadmill.

There are many different variations of the plank that are amazing for your core. Plank Jacks Mountain Climbers Donkey Kicks Side planks with leg lift Etc etc etc. But they all start with the basic plank, that's why they are important, but become less important once you move on to more complex movements.

1. The body does need sleep to recover, especially from strenuous activity, but you can still lose weight on with lack of sleep. 2. Obviously if you are a couch potato you'll struggle to stay healthy. But you can still eat on a deficit, workout for a couple hours a day, and still watch TV. Just don't snack too much while…

Asparagus is delicious, and this is coming from someone who hates most vegetables. It makes your pee smell funny though, but not everyone can smell it.

Accelerator kicked my *kitten* yesterday, I think that was the most I've sweat since I started the program. Donkey kicks were kind of fun though.

If it's anything like my gym 80% of the people don't rack their weights, there were probably weights on the bar when she got there. Not saying it's okay but when other people don't lead by example it's tough for newbies to catch on.
-
So yelling "RACK 'EM" loud enough for the whole gym to hear is the nicest way you could think to ask someone to rack their weights when they're done? Your lack of social skills makes you look like a bully. And I'll preface this by saying that I always re-rack my weights, but I think it's funny that people complain about…

I had the best luck doing full body workouts with mainly compound movements 3 days a week. Otherwise you are only working some muscle groups once a week.
-
People, all of those numbers are just estimates and should only be used as guidelines. If you've been eating in a certain calorie range for a few weeks and haven't lost anything, than gradually reduce it by a couple hundred calories until you start losing. You'll drive yourself crazy if you obsess on the numbers too much.
-
If you keep doing p90x it will be tough to gain any weight. If you do it will be mostly muscle, especially if you start lifting weights.
-
Very funny, they got a couple things right but none if it really explains why Americans are overweight.

Just started my first transition week and did Isometrix for my first time today, that one is definitely not my favorite. 30 minutes of planks or standing on one leg got old really fast. Actually stopped a few minutes early and did Dynamix as well. I'm actually not looking forward to the rest of the week since it looks to…

I lost a about 20 lbs in a few months doing mostly elliptical a few years back. I was doing about an hour a day, 5 or 6 times a week. It wasn't fun, but it worked for the most part.

A lot of people will get very technical and try to tell you exactly what you should do. They're not wrong, but they're also not you. My advice...run every other day. Run as far and as fast as you feel comfortable. On your off days you can do some lower impact cardio if you can fit it in.
