Thanks all. I guess I'm just a little nervous. I've never cooked until recently and am not always sure what's a "proper full meal" and what's not. LOL. This soup should taste delicious but will be super simple.

I never hit rock bottom. I was just bored and did a search on my droid and found this site and hopped onboard. LOL!

Okay, as long as we're on the subject of foods/items we can't stand I'm weird because I HATE Wrigleys Spearmint Gum. It tastes like old people's breath smells. Reminds me of the nursing home I used to work in. LOL!

I love yogurt but personally think Greek Yogurt is just about the nastiest thing I've ever experienced. G-R-O-S-S!

Add me! We are a LOT alike, in fact, my profile says just about the same thing you just posted. LOL!

Now we know why Japanese women have such fabulous figures. Look at the crap they're trying to feed them!

Too bad you're not closer to TN. I have a FABULOUS silver purse that would have gone perfect with that dress! You look great!

Dogs like carrots? I didn't know that. LOL. I would be really irritated by that if I were you! Are you personal friends with your boss and perhaps he's just taking for granted that you don't mind, or is he completely overstepping his boundaries?

You can do it! I had to pass on the Krispy Cream, chocolate iced, cream filled donuts last week. My FAVORITE! Guess I'm well trained though. When I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes my husband would go to the donut store and pick up hot, fresh donuts. Always had my favorite and then said, "You can't eat THAT!"…

If you're not pregnant I'll eat my shoe. Time to take a test! I was actually 2 months pregnant before I figured it out, and it was after I started throwing up all the time. Usually nausea doesn't start until about 6 weeks so you need to test soon. Time to get on those prenatals and start eating extra folic acid! Oh, and…

Oh! Thought you might enjoy this. When my oldest was 3 we had a daily routine of singing together on my karaoke machine. I made a recording of us singing and made a video out of it. You can hear her behind me. It is soooooooo cute. She still enjoys listening to it still.…

Darling you are telling my story! Well, except the ciggs. That's still a work in progress. I don't have thyroid disease but I'm "trending that way" and have to be checked every 6 months. I'm prediabetic and Type II runs in both sides of my family. I don't want to be diabetic so I need to get healthy. Because obesity runs…

Nope, you're not the only one. A very good girlfriend of mine--who is my usual walking buddy--snapped at me this weekend for no reason. She was extremely ugly and hateful to me, and I've NOTHING to deserve that. As a matter of fact, I'm the only friend who has stuck by her over the years. She too has been demoted. I'm over…

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I cannot say I have walked in your shoes, but I do know the fear and devastation from learning that what was thought to be a healthy pregnancy wasn't the case. We found out our little on had a genetic disorder and a less than 1% chance of survival. She did survive, and is healthy but…

I wouldn't necessarily call this a snack but if you can sneak a bowl of my "poor man's chili" in it's loaded in protein and very filling. Extremely low carb and low cal too. Brown 2lb of lean, ground turkey burger, season to taste with chili powder, add a can of Bushs Chili Beans, 1 jar of chunky salsa, and 8 oz of low…

Sooooooo, what you're saying is I should be logging 30 additional minutes of exercise a day? MWAH HA HA HA HA!

I have 2 children. My oldest will be 6 in August and will be in the first grade this year. She's head-strong, outgoing, and very imaginative. She is constantly singing and making up new songs, and at least 20 times a day I hear "hey mom, wouldn't it be funny if..". This usually results in a story about a turtle who can fly…

You'll find this one of the EASIEST tools to help make a healthy lifestyle change EVER! It's amazing, once you start logging, to realize exactly how many fat grams, calories, sodium, and carbs you're taking in. Hard to continue eating certain foods once you see in black and white that it will cause you to gain weight.…

Two points here: #1--my yoga classes always had at least one man whenever I went. #2---you, the only man, in a room full of chics and you wanna go somewhere else? What's wrong with this picture? LOL! (just teasing) Don't worry about it. Women are very accepting creatures. I'll bet if you join them they will not only be…

Oh ACK! I'm only on day 2 and I am SORE SORE SORE! Yep, the arm lifts get me as well, but my problem area seems to be the squats. My legs were hitting muscle failure yesterday and are very sore today.

Hello and welcome! You're taking a great step towards your health by using this site. It's one thing to count your calories and watch what you eat, but it's a whole other story when you start receiving the support of the wonderful people on this board. There are many of us who have, or still are, walked the same journey as…

I would hire my own personal chef to make all my meals, snacks, and drinks. Then I would hire a professional trainer, who would develop a relationship with me and become my best friend (female of course since I'm married. LOL). We would travel the world for our training. Mountain climbing, biking, hiking, rafting, rock…

First of all, WELCOME! Don't think of this as a diet. If you do then you'll gain back all your weight eventually. This is a lifestyle change and MFP will help you find out how and what to eat in order to help your body lose, and then maintain, weight. I can't STAND exercising either but 2 things have happened just in the 2…

Well you're in the right place! MFP will certainly help you with that. :flowerforyou:

You're in the right place and GOOD FOR YOU for quitting smoking! That's a battle I continue to lose but it's all good because I intend to win the war!

ROFL! Good job!

I'm 5'6 with a current weight of 185 and a goal weight of 158. I'm also large boned though so that plays a role in it. 158 is just perfect for me. I wouldn't complain or protest if I got down to 145 but nothing smaller than that.

I completely understand how you feel. I began volunteering at the age of 13, was hired on by the company I volunteered at the day I turned 16, and had always worked right up until I had my first child 5 years ago. My goal was never to be a stay at home mom, I was a career woman! But--it was in the best interest of my child…
