  • For sports bra brands, I suggest Freya, Anita, or Natori. I currently use Natori for running and playing racquetball and am getting ready to buy a Freya. I'm a 30G and they are great at helping pack the girls in. I do suggest a built in bra type shirt for extra support if you're running though. They are sized like a bra so…
  • I eat the Clif Crunch Chocolate Chip bars. They taste totally different than the other Clif bars and are super yummy. They have the texture of the Nature Valley crunch bars.
  • Bumping this one back up to the top since it's been a few months! Here's an interesting site with some of the upcoming races. I'm signed up for the St Patty Day 4 mile run. Thinking about adding another few for April and June. And I'm totally doing the Jingle Bell run next year... http://www.runnersedgekc.com/calendar.asp

  • I do the same. I typically end up eating back about 1/2 of my exercise calories. If I don't, I tend to get really hungry over the course of a few days and next thing I know, I'm binge eating. Consuming 50% seems to keep me on track and I still lose weight.
  • We eat red meat about once a week, raised on my parent's "hobby farm". Eating it any more than that tends to leave us feeling sluggish and bloated. Also, when we do eat it, we keep it to about 3-4 oz servings per person and ensure there are plenty of veggies on the side. That reduces cost and prevents some of the…
  • I'm totally in sync with you. I see too many overweight kids for them all to be "condition" related. Many of these parents don't know their kids are overweight. Studies show that parents with overweight children, when asked, genuinely think they are "ok" Ref http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19559989. While I would never…
  • Having been an employee at grocery stores for almost 8 year (in my former life) I can tell you that overeating is MUCH more prevalant during Thanksgiving than Christmas. The stores I worked at always geared up for their biggest week of the year right before Turkey Day. Christmas was never as crowded and even across the…
  • Yes!! I totally feel you. Each time I make healthier food for my parents when they visit, they automatically dislike the flavor... unless I don't TELL them it's healthy! All they do is comment on how they are going to enjoy life and eat whatever they want. And they go one about how at least they will die happy. Well, I…
  • My parents are the same way and it especially drives me crazy since my mom keeps the temp at 65 in the winter and 85 in the summer to conserve energy. And brags about the tons of other small things she's doing to cut costs. Then I watch her pitch a 1/2 pan of lasagna. Ugh. Anyway, about the original post. We totally do the…
  • http://www.tastebook.com/recipes/1282268-Healthy-Oatmeal-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies Yummy healthier oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Have about 75 calories each.
  • Why not buy yourself a box of breakfast bars, energy bars, clif bars... something so when you think about grabbing the candybar, you grab something healthier instead. Stash them in your desk. It's better for you and cheaper! I love chocolate chip Clif Crunch Bars. Yum!
  • Noodle and Troglodyte. Noodle is used in the phrase... "I will noodle on your suggestion..."

  • I was on steriods for a week, anti-inflammatories for a month, and physical therapy for 8 weeks to recoup from pinched nerves in my hip. It took about 3 months from the beginning for all the pain to really subside. I completely fell off the exercise bus (I played raquetball all the time) and didn't really get back into a…
  • I commend you for taking on the Commando Run. I'll have to think about it and if I decide to do it, I'll sign up in January or February.
  • What's your calorie limit? I would starve on what I saw you had listed (or at least think I was starving). And I agree with the other poster, add more veggies and if you haven't switch up your salad to mixed greens since they have more nutrition than iceberg lettuce..
  • I didn't know about this one. Some coworkers and I are thinking about training for the Warrier Dash next year though. It's in May of next year. Maybe I'll be superwoman and try them both. http://warriordash.com/register2012_kansas.php
  • I'm Karen and live in the Olathe area. Have one 4-yr old and tentatively trying for #2. I'm working on eating healthier to give my daughter the good start I didn't have. My ticker says I've lost 7 lbs but I actually started out on another site years ago and have lost 30 lbs total. I really only want to drop another 5-10…
  • Maybe this link will help?? http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/kelly3.htm
  • And if you really need a sweet thing and the healthy stuff isn't cutting it, a Skinny Cow Truffle bar always hits the spot for me
  • For me, clean eating is defined by what's on the box. While reading the ingredients on that package of pancake mix, you're going to see several additives that were made in a lab. I either read the ingredients on the box to make sure I know what they are, or make it myself. I totally agree that eating "cleaner" doesn't…
  • I joined a local gym through a company discount and started working out with one of my girlfriends. We went to one of their aerobic fitness classes with about 10 people in it and mirrors on every wall (of course). I decided to go relaxed and wore my pink pajama pants and a t-shirt. I made it through the entire workout, got…
  • 1. 89% of people who have posted pictures on here have been at their goal weight at one point in time in their adult life, or highschool aged (don't know what to call that) life. - First, I didn't post a picture. Pretty much because I don't have any I like. However, I was at my goal weight about 10-12 years ago. So…
  • I agree. I've noticed if I keep my salt intake under control, because you seriously need less than 1500 mg daily to survive, that I have hardly any water gain before TOM regardless of how much I drink.
  • Also, don't try to go into the pantry and throw out every bad thing and replace it with all healthy stuff, or put in a full hour workout if you haven't exercised in months. It may work for some people (I wish I was one) but most people's bodies feel deprived and taxed and next thing you know it's 2am and you're at the…
  • Your body is designed to handle natural sugars. Also, remember that natural foods take up to 30% more calories to process, so you're definitely coming out ahead by eating fruits and veggies. I complain about the same thing with salt. Why is it in everything!
  • I exercise at my workplace... besides that, I just try to eat healthy. I need some peeps to keep me on my A game. I'm bad over the weekends...
  • College dance 2 weeks after he'd been dumped by his GF of 4 years and I'd been dumped by my BF of 2 years. Got along great, saw each other every day; didn't start dating, but kept in touch though we both got tangled up in other relationships. I became adept at stalking him because I knew I was going to marry him one day.…
  • If you are bad about emotionally eating, try waiting and calming down, but if you need to eat, at least make it something healthy. And just a question, but what is causing the emotions around dinnertime? Is this stresser removable? Then you could have a nice peaceful dinner on time.
