  • That's just the way I talk, don't worry! In my book, ALL energetic things are ill-advised. (That's also just the way I talk, I'm quite enjoying it really.)
  • I've been doing this for - ooh, six, seven days? (Not really paying attention!) I've been adapting Level 1 by doing wall push-ups because I've never in my life been able to do even girly push-ups, but a word of warning to anyone else who's doing the same - yesterday I had a bash at Level 2 (I decided I didn't want to do…
  • I always weight my calories very heavily towards the end of the day - I know me, and I know there's no point doing the whole finish-eating-early thing because I'll just start eating again. I do eat breakfast and lunch and snacks throughout the day, but I make sure I have plenty of calories left for a proper dinner plus…
  • The thing I really, really hate has nothing to do with other people; it's the way my legs rub together. In hot weather I end up rubbing my skin raw unless I always wear trousers or leggings, and it's horrible. I could live quite happily without that!
  • Well, you seem to have eaten bread, crispbread, potato, rice, tortillas and three kinds of biscuits, plus various kinds of fruit. None of those things are bad, but all of them added together does start to make things a bit carb-tastic! I wouldn't worry if I were you - getting everything absolutely perfect is pretty much…
  • A typical day would be something like: A banana for breakfast, plus one of those little packs of 'breakfast biscuit' things which I snack on throughout the morning. A salad for lunch - maybe chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, sweetcorn, low-fat coleslaw, and lettuce. A cereal bar sometime in the afternoon. Dinner could be…
  • I was just about to say this! I work in residence - I basically tell students off for a living ;-) - and I wouldn't take anything along unless you know it's permitted (I'm sure if you ask the accommodation staff at the campus you'll be visiting, they'll be able to advise you). Apart from anything else, you'll just set the…
  • It's possible (probable, even) that the figures the site is giving you aren't absolutely accurate, so maybe eat just half your exercise calories back?
  • What's your activity level set at? And how sure are you that what you've recorded is accurate? Because if you've eaten a bit more than you thought, or your exercise calories are a bit off, it could make a lot of difference...
  • I tend to take blueberries or strawberries; sometimes popcorn. I have been known to take a bag of pieces of cooked chicken and munch on those, though!

  • Within reason, yes! I'm eating chocolate right now! Obviously, that said, you want to eat a healthy and balanced diet, partly because it's good for you and partly because eating lots of fruit and veg and lean protein and so on will help to fill you up. But, if you want to eat something in particular there's no reason you…

  • It sounds like you're focusing on how you look - quite naturally, everyone does! - but maybe it would help to think about it in terms of a healthy lifestyle, rather than how you look and how much you weigh? Because, like you said, when you're making the 'right' choices you feel good, you have more energy - but then you…
  • It's definitely worth getting checked out by a doctor to see whether there's any reason - be it with your physical or mental health - why you're feeling so low in energy. But, if they don't come up with anything, consider the amount of extra weight you're physically carrying around with you now. There's an advert on UK TV…
  • I'm actually pretty good at losing weight - my problem is that I then stop paying attention and eat a load of crap and it all piles back on - and I can tell you that it's perfectly possible to lose weight and still eat sweet things every day (although I do tend to be over my suggested amount of sugar). Yes, sugar is bad;…
  • I always put in .5 (or .33 or .2 or whatever) of the serving of whatever it is I'm having, and it comes out right. What would the calories have been for a whole cup, and what did it come out as for .5?
  • I think you've pretty much answered your own question there - those exercise calories allow you to eat a bit more, so nothing is 'banned'. If you were trying to eat all your exercise calories in carrots or something, then yes, it might get a bit much. But in real life, you're going to want to eat the occasional potato...…
  • There are plenty of places in the world where eating at 7 would be regarded as freakishly early, and 10 would be perfectly normal...
  • If you don't feel like you can eat more in terms of quantity, just swap some things for higher-calorie foods. It sounds like you're eating lots of diet yoghurts and whatnot - why not just switch to normal ones?
  • Um - if my maths are right, you have 6 or 7 weeks (let's round up and say 50 days), and if to lose 1lb takes a deficit of 3,500 calories, then to lose 35lb you'd need a total deficit of 122,500 calories which divided by 50 means you'd need to have a daily deficit of 2,450 calories. To me, that sounds like a Bad Idea.…
  • I know that if I try to deny myself all sweet things I always fall off the wagon spectacularly, so I go the other way - making sure I get to eat something sweet every day, but choosing carefully so I don't live to regret it. And for a truly special occasion like graduation, I'd definitely eat (a small bit of the) cake.
