Can I be your MFP friend? Your post is absolutely amazing.

Feel free to add me - looking for buddies who login everyday :)

Hi all, A little bit about myself - I am 26 years old and live in Northern Virginia. I started running in 2006 with my first 5k race. I loved it and wanted to try again. Since then I have done a handful of 5ks, 10ks, half marathons even a 1k! :drinker: During this time I have lost weight  AND gained weight  so…
-
That is awesome!! Congrats!!
-
26 years old here - been on this journey since I was 15 years old with times at goal weight and times not so much  With that said I am an active MFP user - login daily and am looking for MFP who are as well. I follow IIFYM principles and currently am training for my first marathon.
-
At a minimum I would at least go out for a walk. I am training for marathon and the number 1 thing I keep reading is that a taper period doesn't equal sitting on your butt and doing nothing. Still gotta move somewhat. I would rest for a couple days and try to move at least once before race day.

Get a Polar watch with chest strap and call it day. Because you'll have boxing gloves on you may not be able to check it as much as you want to but I'm sure you could slide the glove down to check when you have a rest minute. Don't want to risk hurting your phone (you also said you can't have it out anyways) and watches…

Long run day = nap day for me (training for my first full marathon)
-
It really depends. If I went all out in a run/walk I could probably be around 10-11 min/mile. However, I am marathon training right now so my runs, almost all of runs, are done considerably slower. I am training now around 13:30 - 14 min/mile average for a run/walk. However, my speed is definitely improving as the pounds…

Same here. I took a Zumba class once with an instructor who was a bit overweight and her class was 10x better/harder/intense than another instructor who the majority here would consider "fit".
-
Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.
-
Exactly :drinker:
-
Exactly what I do. MFP was too confusing with eating back calories. TDEE has been much better for me.
-
Exactly, this holds true for A LOT of restaurants. And that meal mentioned, is basically what I get when I go there. Not sure if Chili's does this but anywhere with veggies make sure to say "steamed only, no butter" - irks when my veggies are swimming in a butta bath :explode:

I will chime in and say if you want to do WW - meetings are the way to go IF you have the right leader. I had an AMAZING leader and still follow him on Facebook. If I had unlimited bank account I would totally track with MFP and attend WW meetings
-
I have been on WW multiple times, online and at meetings. To be honest, I like MFP A LOT more. Why? Because of the social network that I have built on here. It keeps me accountable. I like that I have a feed with everyone's activity/that motivates me. True, WW has profiles too/add friends but I never saw people use it the…

If you're truly lost/not sure where to start a dietitian could help. With what you have explained, I think using a professional, even if it is only once to get movement forward, would be really beneficial. I personally have no foods off limits to me and just try for balance at every meal. I have been to goal weight and…

Very well put. As someone who was obese at age 13, I was shamed left and right by my peers. I was told I would only be worthy x,y,z if I was smaller. As a young woman I was completely embarrassed of my weight and didn't need others pointing it out to make me feel the need to change. Barely a teenager it was very hard to…

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have been on my journey for 11 years and have been at goal weight/back again. Do something you plan to do for the rest of your life. I feel into the trap of instant results. This isn't a 6 month fix and you're done. This is life. Well, at least for me it is.

I want to be Pusheen the Cat because I love to eat :drinker:
-
I am on here every day, multiple times a day and share my diary with friends. Feel free to add me :)

((gummi bears)) You should add me as a friend since we have similar goals of gummi bear consumption

I am almost 5'9" - about a 1/2 of inch shy. Hope that still counts :0 SW: 240 CW: 229 GW: 165 My story - Started my journey at age 15 (26 now) and over the years I have learned the ropes of weight loss AND weight gain. Definitely is something to maintain for life but I didn't realize that when I was younger. Never have…

Already got my workout in today - Pure Barre. I started a 30 day fitness challenge, move with purpose everyday this month. Calling it SeptemBEAR since I'm a panda, get it?!? Yeah, no one thinks I am cool but myself...but that's okay :drinker:
-
I also follow IIFYM. Has worked amazingly for me, almost effortless (getting on MFP doesn't feel like effort to me). Gave me different numbers than MFP.
-
Exactly.
-
Good morning everyone! My goal for day 2 is to get a run in today. In regards to marathon training, I really need to up my mileage game to be prepared.
-
Also - everyone/anyone feel free to add me as a friend :)

Hi everyone - glad I found this challenge. Looking for something to keep me going through the end of the year. A little bit about me...(I feel like this is old school a/s/l  ) 26 years old female from Northern Virginia - USA I have been living a healthy lifestyle since age 15. Before then I was a very obese…
