  • Wow! You look incredible! WTG! It's incredible what you can accomplish when you set your mind to it.
  • I'm right there with you! Layers of clothing is the answer! AND have you starting feeling like sitting on chairs or riding a bike is harder on your bottom than they used to be too? I can't be alone in this one.
  • You can add me... I just turned 47. I was nearly 160 and worked my way slowly down to 137 and holding. I desperately want to lose at least 2 more and then may try to get down to 130 which I haven't seen since high school.
  • More fiber by the way of green leafy vegetables and if that means salad to you then go with out cheese, croutons and nearly no dressing. Fresh fruit with raw almonds is a great snack that fills you more than the pumpkin seeds. I'd cut some of the pasta and replace it with vegis and more protein like grilled chicken breasts…
  • WELCOME TO MFP! You sound to be getting off to a good start! Keep up the great work. It must be difficult to do on your schedule and especially hard to keep within calories being a chef. Good luck! I may email you for a recipe hint some time.
  • Hi Kathryn! Welcome to MFP. I love this site. I hope you find it as helpful as I have. Pam
  • WELCOME TO MFP! ! ! Good luck on your fitness and healthy eating journey!
  • Thanks for your feedback. I'll add in only 100 at a time to see what happens. I will also try new exercise routine. I'll change up with some new cardio. My problem is the fact that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and heavy work outs or too much repetitive movement of any particular joint can cause a flare up and then I'll be…
  • Ahhh, yes it was. Thanks! I was thinking I was going crazy... Geez... now it says I can eat over 1500 calories! YIkes. I hope I don't gain following this intake. I'll give it a week and see what happens. Wish me luck!
  • We love our "Concept 2" rower. It's an all over body work out that burns more calories in less time than any of the other machines. AND it costs a lot less than the other machines as well. I watch tv or listen to my music while I'm rowing. Sorry if she wants to read at the same time. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I have…
  • By cups they mean 8oz or 1 measuring cup. If you know how many ounces your glasses hold you count them accordingly. I drink from a very large 32 oz cup at my desk and when I finish I count it as 4 cups in MFP. Hope this helps.
  • I also wish there were an area within MFP dedicated to a recipe database. Luckily I have other options, but when I'm not finding inspiration it is always nice to only have to be in one place at a time to find what I need related to my diet and fitness plan. Even if it is an additional tab like that takes us to another…

  • Funny that you chose this topic at the very same time I had the exact discussion with three friends not on MFP. I had recently adjusted my goals because I am still battling the muffin top even at the lightest I've been in a decade. And what I'm hearing and finding online is that I should be adding more core strengthening…
  • Thanks for posting you words of wisdom. I needed to hear that all week! You are absolutely spot on. :flowerforyou:
  • You are in a tough situation. Call an attorney for legal advise on what you can do in the state you live in. Regardless of where you live you need to take the high road and be sure to never say anything negative about your ex in front of the children. That is for the sake of your children. Be strong and take the steps you…
  • I am right there with you on the walking alone. I always feel fairly safe with my dogs all 70lb range and one very protective of me. I guess I'm lucky that I'm in a high populated area but recently there have been some armed robberies in an area near the university where I walk when I don't have my dogs with me. It's close…
  • Welcome Sue! I only started a few weeks ago on MFP. The site (also on my iPhone and it's community helps so much! I finally am aware of the calories I've been taking in (ugggh), the lack of water I've been drinking and how much i'm burning in exercise (yippee). I need to get back into shape (get rid of all the jiggle,…
  • I've gone through the same struggle and finally started only weighing in the first thing every morning, beginning last week. It has been very difficult to stay away from my scale. It has been so worthwhile to changing to only A.M. to get the most accurate count. I hope to cut back getting on the scale only weekly,…
  • Welcome to MFP and good luck! I'm personally shocked every day by how little I knew about the calories in my food choices.
  • THANKS! ! ! I needed this. I was running out of ideas and have been getting bored with my meals. BUMP!
  • Woo Hoo! You've accomplished so much! This is such an incredible service. Keep up the great work. My oldest daughter quit smoking and then slipped back into the habit after not smoking for 8 months due to stress at school and work. She is working on quitting once again. I wish you great strength to stick to your programs.…
  • Welcome to MFP. I have RA and have been on numerous medications over the past 17 years. It is under control now but the severe flare ups still come occasionally. If you have any questions feel free to ask... They usually want to start on the least strength meds they can and slowly move up from there to find the right fit.…
  • Welcome! and congratulations on a great start! It is so easy to log your food and exercise using MFP. It will become an obsessive habit, I guarantee it. I have i on my iPhone so I can check in and look up calories for items on menus when we eat out too. I'm telling you, I'm completely obsessed. The community is great and…

  • Thank you sboothe24 for stating the obvious! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and cannot do as much as I want. I exercise within my own limits. Only recently, when I began MyFitnessPal did my last RA flare up calm enough to start walking our dogs again. And I could only take our oldest who is slower than the others and less…
  • Woo Hoo! ! ! That's great! It is incredible what a little exercise can do for your entire life. Just taking regular walks has done it for me. Keep up the good work. It will pay off in spades before you know it.
  • Good luck! You can do it with the help of MFP and all the community inspiration and support! I'm a newbie too and found it through the iPhone app. I've been over a size larger than I should be for some time now and haven't been healthy enough to exercise. But now that I am I'm sticking to it. If you ever need help with…
  • You look AMAZING!!! and so happy and confident! Keep up the great work!
  • :flowerforyou: Thank you babyteine and Tammy-Girl for your support and good wishes. I was shocked to even find replies to my post. I love this site!!!! You guys rock. I wish you both the best on reaching your goals. It's really surprising how easy it is to use this site. I may be more addicted to this than that horrible…
  • Hi! I'm a newbie too suffering from RA. I was diagnosed with RA 16 years ago. It took my becoming crippled with pain and swelling, to the point I could not even open a door knob or walk without a severe painful limp for me to go to the doctor to figure out what was wrong. That was then. Recently I had a severe nearly…
  • Thank you lilchino4af for stating the obvious that seems to be lost by most. If they removed all the HFC from their drinks that would be a hugh step in the right direction. It has already been shown in a new study made at Hopkins University that half the amount of HFC in a diet vs twice the sugar calories causes severe…
