If you get the kids meals now days you don't have to get the fries ( which are a real calorie killer) try the apple pieces. Their pretty good and fewer cals. Probably better for you as long as you avoid the dipping sauce.

Two words ICE CREAM. Just kidding I haven't really rewarded myself. The best rewards I have gotten were when my daughter said Daddy you look different and my son said Daddy you need a belt because your pants don't fit. New healthy lifestyle-hours of intensity workout cloths-$5.00 New diet- lower calorie intake People and…

The others have pretty much covered the basics. Listen to your body and don't fret too much about cals for one day. BTW thank you for donating blood, my daughter has 'ALL' and needs transfusions all the time. Anyone who donates blood is a hero to me. I wish I could but being in the service I have been to too many countries…

I used to be this way also. I had vanity issues, I couldn't feel good about the way I looked my weight. I expected results right away. Remember that you are doing this not just to look better but to be healthier. I had to do some things to get out of the habit of looking at the scale, here's what worked for me. Put the…

Along the same lines as simon. You should yo yo the exercise from week to week also. Do a week of on type say running/walking and calastinicks(sp). And then the next week do aerobics and weights. This keeps the muscles guessing and you will get better workout results.

What Simon Says is right on. I wish I could afford a HRM but am forced to do it the old fashioned way (finger on pulse for 15 seconds....) anyway as I've lost weight and exercised I've noticed a difference in HR and calories burned.

Holding your urination is probably good advice for females. But from what I have read men should not hold it too much. It can be damaging to "performance" as it puts undue stress on the prostrate or something along that line. Having said that I drink around 10 to twelve cups on most days and still only pee about 6 times so…

This is a sleep walking related disorder. The best advise I can give you is see your Doctor and probably a specialist. Good Luck.

Just be careful with gyms when choosing. Many of them will be full of beautiful people and have lots of shinny expensive equipment sitting around. Just because they look nice doesn't mean it is a good gym. After all you are not paying them to have a pretty place and all the latest equipment, you are paying them to help you…

Me and my wife are both on here. We are different ages, different weights and of course male and female. The MFP calories for the exact same workout are completely different. Consequently I have to work out more to burn the same calories as her. The counts are fairly accurate (one of my bosses is also a certified trainer…

Yeah I was in the military at the time and doing a lot of sit-ups when it really started hurting. So you are probably right about the sit-ups. Good luck and I hope it turns out better for you.

Take care of it as soon as possible. I had an Umbilical Hernia (probably since I was born and one day it just started hurting when I touch it. It took two surgeries and a lot of down time to fix it. Don't delay asking the doctor about this It can be a big deal.

I want to lose weight because: -My knees hate me. That's right they were swearing at me every time I walked on them. -I want my kids to learn how to live better healthier lives from watching me. -It just feels better in the long run. -I don't want to end up as miserable and unhealthy as some of the fellows I work with. (…

That little message at the bottom of your daily diary is about as accurate as the BMI calculator. It is averaged for most people and your own personal results might not be the same. It sounds like you are at a plateau, try varying your workout. Do some exercises you are not used to doing. When your muscles become…

You will most likely burn calories for some time after a very intense workout but it is better when watching you calorie count to be a little conservative. I do this even though I am doing some weight training and building muscle, it helps to keep me honest (with myself at least).

Most good weight training can be done with a set of dumbells. Not the kind with fixed weight but the type where you can change weight on the dumbells. You will find them fairly inexpensive and easy to use. Get a tape or DVD of weight lifting to learn form and you should be fine.

If you have an Aldi's around you, you can stop in there and look for Millville Granola bars. They usually have at least 2 different types, though mine and my wife's favorite is the chocolate chip variety. They fill you up for a while, need no fridge, are nutritious, and only 100 calories per bar. Plus you should be able to…

Your husband may be right here. If you check on the label most pasta's give both the cooked and uncooked serving sizes. If not it is most likely the uncooked portion you are reading.
