  • Do you have access to a microwave? If so, you could do any number of salads with a meat on top (e.g. grilled chicken, taco salad). Just keep the stuff you want to nuke in a smaller separate container and dump it on top when it's hot.
  • Just FYI, the Polar FT7 and I think F6 also meeting this description.
  • There's a ton of posts on here about this, so if you search for HRM you will find some good links. But in general, I would recommend one with a chest strap (I too have a Polar FT7) for accuracy.
  • I agree, we eat like crap in the US, but consider the fact that in Europe they drown their french fries in mayo!
  • Well, last week was a bad week for me. I didn't make it past Tuesday in terms of not drinking and never went back on the wagon. Yesterday was the first time I worked out since Tuesday as well (not counting golf on Thursday). And I lost two pounds. Yeah, that's messed up. Good luck to everyone this week! It's going to be a…
  • On My Home click on Goals. That is where you put in your weight. However, if you are talking about those little tickers that show what your goal is, that's under "Tools." 8 ounces
  • I had the exact same experience. It almost defies logic that so little of a change can make such a difference so quickly. And my god I want to play that course! I retract everything bad I ever said about your city (it's a hockey thing)!
  • Hi Kim and welcome! Please tell me more about your time in Chicago so I can live vicariously through you and get nostalgic about my home town. Everyone on here is individual in terms of goals. As you can see from a few posts prior to yours, some people are going cold turkey. Mostly I would say people here are…
  • I admire your candor, as well your efforts! Keep coming back here and I will ride your *kitten* like Seattle Slew if you need tough love
  • So, apparently the message board for drinkers on here draws heavily from Wisconsin AND Fort Wayne, Indiana. Scary. :drinker:
  • Tabby, I completely agree. Having one or two a day is by no means drinking too much. Hell, isn't the American Heart Association, the AMA, or whoever still saying that a glass of red wine a day is good for you?!! You and Jessica both hit the nail on the head - we live in one of the unhealthiest countries there is, yet…
  • Like it? I was substituting words to the song The Sound of Silence (for you "kids" out there it's the song playing in Old School when Wil Farrell takes the tranqulizer dart in the butt and falls in the pool). And yes, I did write that FROM the bar, but had only had one at that point. Yeah, way off the wagon. And I'm no…
  • Hello barstool my old friend I'm here to drink on you again A full cocktail I see before me but soon in my glass nothing will be But the sound.... Of ice cubes
  • This is actually an interesting question: would it be better to work out and drink but stay within your calories or not workout but also not drink and stay within your calories? Or doesn't it make a damn bit of difference?
  • Robin - I wouldn't go beating yourself up over a half glass of wine! George - welcome, and yes, many people here would tell you they exercixe SO they can drink, so walking to the liquor store counts! No alcohol for me last night (day 2). Really not sure with my whole modified "use your drinks when you want" plan this week…
  • Ugh. Good luck with that Jen.
  • Damn thing posted twice and I can't delete. :grumble:
  • Welcome Pita NIta! Yeah, I had a similar experience as my cocktails are generally strong. Mama T - well, we knew this would be a tough weekend for you. I can't imagine they have many healthy choices at a mud drag! Don't beat yourself up. Life's too short. I definitely threw them back this weekend but have abstained today…
  • Before last week I was in the exact same boat... losing while still drinking but then hit a plateau. I was working out like a dog and thought why bother depriving myself when it didn't make a damn difference. Personally, I drank like a fish this weekend, but have resisted the urge tonight.
  • Well, it was a good run. How much do you think you lost during that time (vs. how much you lost before you went on the wagon?)
  • Is grilling an option? Burgers or hot dogs for the kids, chicken (shishkabob maybe?) for the adults?
  • Here's the thing... for every time I have been discouraged by the fluctuating scale and perceived weight gains, I have also been ENCOURAGED by losses, especially when I see they are sustained over several days in a row. This only motivates me to keep it going. That's why I can't stop weighing myself daily. The whole thing…
  • HA! Were you referring to, uh, RIchard's Sporting Goods, aka....? That's where I got mine.

  • Good morning! I once again binged last night (as planned). But I have my kids today for Father's Day so it's back on the wagon! Yvonne - thanks, I forgot to mention the whole single, lonely alcoholic part lol. If you didn't live in the UK (I'm assuming) I would ask you out to dinner :flowerforyou: :drinker: Jen - welcome!…
  • If you search the message boards there are a ton of good posts about HRM's. But I agree, you need one that has a chest strap. I personally have a Polar FT7 I got less than a month ago and it's great.

  • You're pretty much doing what I would suggest - look for something similar in the database. If you are not sure if they are similar, I look for the menu online and see if they sound alike. Mmmm, nachos.
  • Me too. First I get called fat, now I'm an alcoholic! :drinker:
  • I feel like singing Oh Canada! :drinker:
  • Hmmm, interesting idea about logging them separately. I put them in under "snack". And I just logged last night - well over 1000 calories. :noway:
  • Good morning all. Liz, nice to see you back. Sorry about the troubles at home. As Homer Simpson once said "To alcohol, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems" Katie, anybody who has dropped 119 pounds can drink whatever the hell they want as far as I'm concerned. Alison, Alison, Alison... we shall forgive you…
