Hmm.. a lady never tells. But let's just say I tend to delete my internet history every so often :blushing:

I've been single for a few years now. The toughest thing about being single that I've found is that you can go to extremes. Either you go crazy (WOOOO I'm single) or you get depressed (oh man, another night alone). It's that point where you can truly feel happy being on your own where you're like, at least I'm living and…

I agree with whatever macro you are shorting. Short on carbs- forget about it, or eat more protein! Short on protein or fats, I like to have some greek yogurt, peanut butter, string cheese, or pistachios.

If the birth control is new, it is a possible source of weight gain. You body will need to adjust, but keep in mind that many BC pills will cause weight gain or prevent weight loss even once you get used to it. I tried 2 different brands, and not only did i NOT lose weight, I developed hypertension while on one of them.…

Pick a goal to work towards, even if it's not a weight one. There are lots of races that are around the holidays, I know I started to enjoy running by participating in the local Thanksgiving 5K. Also, I find that it's easier to spend more time in the gym cause there is really nowhere else to go in the dark and cold. So…

Yes, these are one of my favorite movements! I also do the traditional squats, deads, OHP, bench. Weighted lunges and step ups are also good. One thing that you have to realize is that if your body is shaped like a pear, it's always going to be that shape. All these thread of ppl saying weights make them bigger are…

Let's go Buff-a-lo! (even though we score so infrequently that we cannot do a touchdown celebration correctly)

Yes 1400 calories a day may work FOR YOU. Everyone has different biomechanics. You'r BMR appears to be 1350...so eating 1400 could work. My BMR is 1600, so eating 1400/day would NOT work. I also don't know what your TDEE is, but mine is 2600. I try to eat 1900-2100 per day and have been losing 1-2 pounds per week. That's…

But, I eat at a deficit and burn 1000 calories every day!

No one is being mean, you asked about slim fast, and we are telling you of our experiences and opinions. And this is a fitness website, not a "fitness" website (nice quotations). We are concerned with overall health here, and slim fast isn't the best thing for that. You can choose to do whatever you would like.

Still in progress, but I love seeing all of your transformations! Fall 2010- 278 lbs Spring 2013- 187 pounds. Not done, but getting there!

I tried slim fast twice while in college. The first time, I stuck to it for about 6 months and dropped about 25 pounds, with exercising. The problem though was that I got big in the first place because I didn't know how to eat properly. Once I stopped the shake, I put back on about 35 pounds. When I tried the diet again,…

Thanks guys! I'm glad that there are so many on here to agree. It's hard to start a fitness or weight loss journey, but I'm finding it tougher to keep the intensity up as "the journey" turns into just life. Yeah, you can work out like crazy, diet and focus to get the weight off, but keeping the excitement up and making…

I'm currently training for a marathon and the distance running isn't great for fat loss. Try more sprints or cross training a bit to keep your body guessing. Also, if you're like me, minimize these runs...

Just enjoy it, and maybe do an extra workout if it really bothers you. This was me last night

Shoes are obviously the best thing to start with. As far as the excercise itself, if you want to prevent injury there are a few things that you can do. Try to incorporate some strength training into your leg muscles. Even if it's body weight exercises like squats, lunges, etc. Strengthing your muscles, will steady your…

Food calories can be looked at at nutrient dense, or nutrient lacking. Can one lose weight on a diet of fast/processed/synthetic options? As long as you're at an overall deficit, yes. However your body needs to take in many things to function properly. You somehow need to find a way to provide your body with essential…

Calories are burned during exercise. It is the type of workout/exercise that dictates whether you burn calories in an aerobic state, or in an anaerobic sat (i.e. using your oxygen energy pathways in your cells or not). A lot of your basic cardio uses aerobic pathways, which can be good for your heart and give you high…

Usually just some coffee. I will also have my slice of 7-grain bread with peanut butter if I'm going for my long run.
