I cut wheat out of my diet. Almost all of my cravings and overeating impulses have disappeared with it! The only time I want to binge is when I get really hungry, but that rarely happens anymore.

it is good for you, better than canola or vegetable oil! It also has a higher smoke point than olive oil so its great for cooking with. I use it for cooking veggies, eggs, meat, anything! I sauteed some cabbage in it last night with a little red wine vinegar and it was super tasty!

I always love it at chinese food restaurants, so its great to get a few ideas about what to do with it at home!

I have been following the primal lifestyle for about two months (not strict, but working towards it!). The only book I bought was Robb Wolf's Paleo Solution and that was only after a month of eating this way in order to gain more info. I learned everything I did from the internet and listening to paleo/lowcarb/primal…

maybe as tri-tip?

Have you tried the thick cream from a can of coconut milk? This causes the coffee to be a lighter color, like half and half. Pour out the watery part or use it in a smoothie. I use like two or three tablespoons in my cup of coffee and it is yummy :) Wanted to add: try some guacamole on your sandwich or in replacement of…

I usually eat the whole egg, but if I need egg white for a recipe (or yolks) I crack the egg and pour the whole thing into my hand. the white slips into the bowl and I don't have to worry about crack the yolk on the shell while passing it back and forth.

ugh, that is annoying. I eat a gluten free/ grain free diet and people give me strange looks when I ask for no bun or no bread. Its not that I am really tempted by the items if I get them, but if my burger has bread stuck to it from me peeling it off then I usually get a stomach ache. No fun. I love restaurants that have…

cutting out gluten and grains has made a huge difference in my energy level! I've found that I am not sleepy (except in the early morning since I wake up at 5:20), even at that "midday crash" time around 3. No blood sugar crashes or "shaky feeling" either anymore.

Use that as fuel for your weight loss fire! Don't ever let yourself get there and best of luck!!!!

You look like you are at a pretty healthy weight, but if you would like to lean out and eat healthy, delicious food at the same time, check out the primal/paleo way of eating. Check out Mark's Daily Apple or Robb Wolf's site. The food is delicious. You get to eat healthy fats, veggies, fruits, meat. Its not hard unless you…

eat spaghetti squash instead :) lower cal, tasty, grain free!

Spaghetti squash is an awesome alternative. I don't eat any grains, so this is an awesome alternative. I love making spaghetti squash carbonara!

Had an avocado mixed with a can of oil packed tuna and some tomatoes for lunch today! It was over 550 calories, but I at it at 1130 and I am just now feeling hungry at 615 at night. Fat doesn't make you fat. Make sure your fats come from healthy sources and enjoy :)

No, but I heard they taste kind of funny unless you rinse them really well and have a very flavorful sauce. Have you tried spaghetti squash? You can eat a ton for very few cals!

Not an atkins dieter, but I do the primal way of eating (no grains/legumes) and I eat pretty clean and it ends up being similar to the basic premise of atkins. My suggestion for doing atkins is to eat healthy, natural foods and don't bother with the "low carb" products aimed towards atkins and low carbers. They are usually…

I for sure agree with most of what you said, I just wanted to point out that muscle does not weigh more than fat (a pound is a pound/a kg is a kg), but it does take up less space than fat!
-
You can do it! also, you'll probably notice that you feel awesome in a few days. I've been gluten free for about two months (I believe I unintentionally ate food with gluten twice and I felt like poo). It was a great decision for me. I get up easier, have more energy, and feel healthier all around. As for your diary, looks…

I love tuna in a can (although rare seared tuna is much better)! I love to mix a can of oil packed tuna with half an avocado! Yummy lunch! It is good for you, but twice a day might be extreme. If you need cheaper forms of protein, buy cheap cuts of meat! Chicken thighs are pretty close to the calorie count of breasts and…

Maybe you shouldn't log your weight this week in order to get a more accurate reading. The loss of fluids and the lack of food will put you at an falsely low weight I believe. As for exercise, don't start again until you are strong enough. Give your body some time to recover or you may open yourself up for more illnesses.…

I've been doing grain-free since the first week in January and had about a month before the holidays that I was also doing it. Sometimes I lose weight in a week, sometimes I don't. I'm reading wheat belly right now and have been eating a fairly primal diet during this time. The biggest thing for me is that my tummy is…

.8 pounds in a week is almost a pound which is a great weight loss for a week (if i am reading what you said correctly). Some weeks you will lose, others you may not. Just think, that is almost a pound that you never have to carry around on your body again.

nice, thanks!

I think its time to retire those clothes!

you look wonderful!

Interval training is supposed to be great for fat loss. During cardio, do some sprints mixed in with your regular routine. Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred is also good for interval type work.

Don't be afraid of fat! You said that you don't cook any of your meat in fat and you steam your veggies, but some coconut oil or grassfed butter might be just what your body needs. We need fats for many bodily functions. I have seen great results from cutting out the wheat. My belly is going away (see pics on my profile)…

berries are actually some of the lowest sugar fruits. As to what to eat instead of carbs: Replace pasta with spaghetti squash. I love the way this stuff tastes and its really easy to make. Breakfast ideas: eggs, bacon, smoothies with half an avocado and berries with some coconut milk and/or yogurt. Cut out the bread and…

Try healthy fats and proteins with lots of veggies. A breakfast I enjoy is a three or four egg omelet with salsa and cheese. Eggs are very, very good for you. Eating a breakfast like this will make you feel great. Another lunch that I love is an avocado with a can of olive oil packed tuna mixed together. I eat this with a…

a tablespoon or two of coconut milk (the stuff from the can) is so good. Or I use heavy whipping cream, which makes the coffee taste like a treat.
