no advice on cooking, but that is cool!

Add fats into your diet. That will help increase your calorie intake since fat is 9cal per gram and carbs and protein are 4. Try a can of oil packed tuna on spring greens with tomatoes, cucumbers, and any other veggies you want with some vinegar. Its simple changes that will up your calories and I bet you will feel great…

a large part of the problem with having a large deficit consistently is that it isn't a sustainable lifestyle. You are working towards a goal now, but can you keep eating like this forever? Or will you even be able to do this long enough to get to your goal? I've done the 900 calories a day thing and would binge like crazy…

You aren't eating enough if your diary is accurate. Eat close to what MFP suggests, especially since you are working out. If that's you in your picture, you look great. If you are trying to lean out, try lifting weights and eating all of your calories. Women don't typically have enough testosterone to bulk up like a man…

I would consider going no grain, which can help PCOS from what I have read. Google "paleo and PCOS" and see if you get any information that would help you.

if you don't like yogurt, don't eat it, but if you like regular, non-Greek yogurt, then I have suggestions: Full fat yogurt is very good for you and tastes better than the low fat stuff Stick with plain yogurt and add your own sweetener. My favorite yogurt "recipe:" 1 cup of Stonyfield full fat plain organic yogurt, 1…

If you aren't hungry first thing in the morning, don't eat. You aren't going to starve or kill your metabolism. Just make sure you are eating all of the calories MFP suggests in the 2 meals you have later in the day. Also, try eating foods that aren't breakfast foods in the morning if you are hungry.

taking a quick peak through, I would highly recommend more fats. I never get the tired, cold feeling of dieting that I used to after upping my fat intake. You also won't get hungry as often with a higher fat intake. I eat approximately 50% of my diet from healthy fats.

I would start by eating more. For a 1 lb a week weight loss at only 5 pounds away from my goal (I'm 5'11") I was supposed to be eating 1550. I always ate back most of my exercise calories and I am down 38 pounds (2 pounds from goal now). I'm not saying you need to eat back all the exercise calories, but food is fuel and we…

that's what I do too. I never go crazy for a planned day. Occasionally I will have a day that I eat way over, but its not a planned cheat day or something I feel bad about. It happens, I enjoy the food, and I do my MFP thing the next day as normal.
-
yum, you always have great food! I'm having late st. patty's day and I made corned beef with cabbage and carrots. Made it in the crockpot and it is falling apart (in a good way). Also, its an uncured, nitrate free corned beef from TJ's

yup!!

what about mixing your tuna with avocado? or have it over a salad with olive oil and vinegar have some veggies with your dinner protein and saute them in olive oil or butter have some kalamata olives for snack and eat full fat dairy products

Your fat intake is really low. I would up that a bit. Healthy fats are not bad for you. Why don't you track other things besides fat and sodium? Sugar might be a good option to track. It looks like your foods might be a bit high in sugar. Some meals to try that are lower sugar and higher in healthy fats and proteins (not…

grains can cause bloating/gassiness in a lot of people. Perhaps reduce these?

I think its a lot easier to lose those last 10 pounds when at 1/2 lb a week. I changed mine recently and it seems to be working well.

this is my almost paleo shepherd's pie. There is cornstarch in it. Anyone recommend a thickener that I can use to replace cornstarch for "gravy"? http://ibuyflour.blogspot.com/2012/05/almost-paleo-shepherds-pie.html

I usually stick with stonyfield whole milk plain yogurt or local yogurt from grassfed cows. For some reason, the greek yogurt hurts my stomach. I love the probiotics from yogurt and kombucha though!

I think this is the brand that the ladies on balanced bites podcast recommend. I might have to give it a try

slice them thin, sprinkle on some olive oil, salt, and cinnamon and bake Mash them as you would regular potatoes bake one, fry an egg and eat it altogether for breakfast. Shred and make a hash with onions and some breakfast sausage

hm, I may not be the best person to ask about recipes because I don't like really sweet stuff! Here goes: 1/2 cup full fat yogurt 1 cup frozen strawberries 1 tablespoon raw honey 2 handfuls spinach a leaf of kale some water or some coconut milk
-
why low fat? low fat doesn't equal low cal. Many low fat foods end up being higher in calories to make up for the lost fat. For lower cal snacks: kalamata olives, string cheese, 1/2 cup full fat yogurt with unsweetened coconut and a 1/2 tbs of honey, nuts, veggies
-
i do this too and you can't taste the spinach at all! Try kale sometime!

http://ibuyflour.blogspot.com/2010/03/pumpkin-soup.html and http://ohsheglows.com/2010/11/11/garlic-pumpkin-mashed-potatoes-with-spinach/ Both of these are super tasty :)

This whole thread is hilarious. I love that a lot of these contradict each other. My favorite myth, which has been mentioned a few times already, is that eating fat makes you fat. My diet is 50% fat and I've never looked or felt better.

I have been doing this since January. I eat occasional corn and white rice, but its like once every week (as in one or the other, not both once a week). I've maintained gluten free, because that bothers my stomach to no end. The weight loss is great, but the way I feel is even better. I have more energy, my gut is happy,…

my diet is made up of at least 50% fat and I have never felt better. My skin has cleared up (though that may be the coconut oil I put on it daily), my blood sugar has stabilized, and I have lost weight fairly quickly. Eating more fat is excellent because you don't get hungry as quickly. I eat healthy fats: coconut oil,…

I would ask about the chicken's diet. I hate when egg cartons say "vegetarian diet" because chickens aren't vegetarians! They should be eating bugs!! Farm eggs are great. The yolks are bright orange usually.

check out nomnompaleo.com for some gluten free and low-ish carb ideas. you can also check out my diary and ask any questions you want :) I'm gluten/grain free and usually under 100g carbs a day.

try olive oil and balsamic or red wine vinegar instead. A tablespoon of each will set you back about 110 calories, but they are real foods and taste great. For extra awesome flavor, go with a really good olive oil.
