  • Delayed response on my part, but I'm in! I will probably stick to walking and I walked for an hour yesterday. My husband got me a Fitbit for Christmas, and I love trying to get more steps and flights of stairs accounted for each day.
  • Hi guys! My name is Karen and I live in the Buffalo NY area. I am 40 Yrs. old and I'm a stay at home mom of five kids. I joined MFP a while ago, but never bothered to actually use it until recently. I finally decided to get serious and make a change for the better. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and…

  • Good afternoon! It's been just a few days since I started taking this seriously and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I feel great just knowing I am taking the steps I've needed to take for a long time to get healthy and slim down. I love that this group was started to keep me accountable and upbeat!

  • I like the idea of having having something to focus on each week. I'm not so much into seeing if I can outdo other people, but I like to see if I can reach a certain goal for myself.
  • Count me in! I have been a member of MFP for a long time, but never really took it seriously enough to lose weight. I am starting now, and intend to make it work. I weigh 180 now and my goal is 135 or 140. I can't believe I just made that public.... Now, I really have to do it!!
  • Congratulations!
  • So, eat some ice cream today and get back on track tomorrow. If you slip on the ice in the winter do you sit there forever, or do you get up and try again? We all slip now and then---just get back on track.
  • Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. It has been so busy here! Anyway, I have been trying to fit in some excercise; but have only done the shred a couple of times in the last week. Now that the weekend is here, instead of slacking off like I usually do, I am going to make sure I invest the time in excercise. On Monday,…
  • Good morning! I slacked off all weekend and meant to get to work this morning; but took my daughter to the doctor instead and am now heading to the pharmacy. This evening I take my son to baseball and my other daughter to softball, so if I have any energy left I'll think about excercise. More than likely, you'll hear back…
  • ebickford- When you get your DVD let us know what you think. The more people we have supporting and motivating each other, the better. Some days the only reason I bother doing the Shred is because I know when I log on someone else will have done it and I don't want to feel guilty. It helps me keep going. Have a great…
  • The only reason I got up and worked out with Jillian this morning was so that I could post that I did it. Thanks for forcing me to get moving everyone!!! How is everyone else doing?
  • BGent--I think you can still consider your workout to be day 2. I'd only call it starting over if you let a bunch of days go by without doing it. I only do it every-other-day as it is. I've been sticking to the workout schedule I made and now I have to focus on my eating habits. Baby steps, right? I always start out the…
  • Ok, just finished the shred again this morning, and feeling very proud of myself for doing it even though I got up late and thought about waiting until later. Every time I say I'll do it in the evening, I don't do it at all. Nolachick--On my days off I have been getting on the treadmill and walking/running. I have never…
  • Hey there nolachick! I hope it's not just me and you!! I did the shred yesterday, as promised. I'm on an every-other-day schedule, so I'll be doing it again tomorrow. I went back to level 1 and I think I'll stick with that for a while longer. Let me know when you get around to L2 and maybe I"ll try again. Keep it up!!
  • OK ladies. Today is Sunday--it's the start of a new week. If you haven't been finding the time to excercise, try to start again today! I've been hitting the treadmill; but not shredding. I'm going to do the shred again in a few minutes and see how it goes. I guess I'll stick with level 1 so I don't get frustrated and stop…
  • I finally tried level 2 this weekend and it was kind of funny. I couldn't keep up, and had to keep stopping. I thought maybe I was ready since I could do all of L1 without modified moves (except push ups.) Oh well, I guess it's supposed to be hard or we're not going to get any stronger, right? I'm just getting back into a…
  • nolachick-- I don't think it matters which levels you do, as long as you are doing something. I haven't tried level 3 yet, so I don't know how hard it is; but if you do what you can of it, it's probably better than being bored and not doing anything. Switch it up every day if you have to, or, if that's too repetitive, do…
  • I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I tell myself how I plan on eating and I even plan healthy meals, and it all goes down the drain when faced with a choice. There is no point in being ashamed, though. Today is a new day and you have to just keep trying. See if you can choose what you are going to eat from an online menu ahead…
  • OK, it's Monday morning and I'm back on track. I stumble a bit on the weekend; but today is a new day. My shoulder is 100% and I'm going to begin the shred again. I'm keeping this short and sweeet and I'll check in later. I have to get it over with before the plumber arrives to fix the rusted out pipe in the bathroom.....
  • Rachel-- That tiny little gain is nothing to beat yourself up about. You're right to ignore it--you've basically maintained for a week and that's just fine. I've been struggling to do the Shred because my left arm hurt so bad for days. I'm not sure if i was doing push-ups wrong, or hurt it doing something else; but I…
  • Welcome to everyone who just joined! It's great to have so many people helping to keep us on track. I've decided to add some extra cardio to my plan, so yesterday I ran/walked on the treadmill for about 1/2 hr. in the morning and did the Shred later in the evening. I think that's going to work for me most days. Today a…
  • I took a day off on Sunday to let my body rest from those push-ups. Today I'm back to work. I haven't been eating well at all, but will give it my best effort to stay within my calories today. I think I might need to add some serious cardio, too. I don't think just doing the shred is enough with the garbage I've been…
  • After thinking twice about getting up and working out, I thought of all of you fitting it into your busy lives and I did it. I'm hoping to try level 2 by the end of next week, too. The only thing I really struggle with on level 1 is the push-ups; but I've never in my life been able to do a single push-up the right way. I…
  • I eventually did the Shred yesterday and it felt great. I can't move a muscle in my body today. This morning I walked for an hour with a friend of mine and I plan on doing the DVD later this evening. One thing that caused me problems yesterday was that we got pizza for dinner. I love pizza more than I love my next breath…
  • OK, I woke up this morning thinking "Time to get up and do the Shred." So, I went back to sleep :) I am in my workout clothes now, though, and I intend to get moving just as soon as I get the kids on the bus. I had a great day yesterday --worked out, and stayed within my calories. I plan on going to bed tonight feeling…
  • Hi Ladies! Haven't logged in for a while and just noticed you are all doing the 30 day shred. I'd love to join you. I bought it with the best of intentions and actually did it for a week. Then I went on vacation and just never started again. It's time to be accountable for my actions, so this is the first time I'm posting…
