  • Ohh sorry!! I saw that you posted that right after I did so even though you didn't quote my post, I thought it was directed toward me since I'm new to the group :) Sorry for the misunderstanding!
  • [/quote] Yes, that is what I'm here to do. I truly believe in this lifestyle and want to reap all of the benefits. I know that any seemingly minor setback has huge repercussions. I currently have my own blog following my journey, but I would prefer to share my experiences with the MFP community. It's ok to assume my weak…
  • Ok so I feel like a stalker-from-afar because I monitored the October group daily after finishing reading both the Primal Blueprint and the Paleo Solution. I have been almost 100% compliant, but have had a couple snags along the way in the past month, such as a funeral, Halloween, and a couple other times when I was…
  • I didn't like Fat Smash, because I need a lot of variety in what I can eat.
  • If you have good knees, go for it. If not, you will need to modify a few of the moves. I don't do it every day, but I do it on days when I need an effective strength training workout and I'm short on time. I'm still super sore from 2 days ago. I've seen amazing results from people on here.
  • I don't believe there is, but I saw a post one time from someone that did the following: -Create a meal name in your food diary called "Vitamins"...you know, how you have like "Breakfast" "Lunch" "Dinner"...it's under your settings -Create your own food with the nutrition facts of your vitamins (unless they are popular…
  • I would ask them if their veggie burger is frozen and/or store bought (aka like a Boca burger or Morningstar). Some restaurants have really good veggie burgers that are worth trying, since you can get chicken anywhere.
  • Woo hoo Gaithersburg!!
  • I know you can set your own percentages for protein, fiber, sugars, etc, but I am interested to hear anyone's advice on proper amounts of those.
  • I love OxyElite Pro for appetite suppression and intensity in my workouts. Look it up - there's tons of information out there.
  • Don't be scared that you will appear like you're struggling, because NO ONE knows what resistance you have on the bike! Spinning is a "go at your own pace" type of workout. As you get more comfortable, you can push yourself harder, but your goal for the first couple classes is to sit on the bike the whole time and keep…
  • Ah you look great! The program was starting to get really hard on my knees (ex-volleyball player) so I kinda fell off the wagon because it prevented me from spinning and doing other exercises. My sister said to improvise for some of the parts that are not joint friendly, but that's like half the workout!
  • My old personal trainer always said to DECREASE your carb intake throughout the day, and INCREASE your protein intake. This is because you don't want to eat carbs (which are supposed to give you energy) and then go to sleep, because then your body can't burn them as effectively and it will store the carbs. At night, she…
  • My friend made these and they were sooo good. You can modify the recipe according to your taste/what you have in your kitchen: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Spicy-Turkey-Burgers/Detail.aspx
  • I love this - thanks! You're totally right. And I love how you introduced it by saying to make small changes. I hired a personal trainer earlier this year just to jump start my routine, and she pushed me much harder than I ever thought I could go. Now, I know how to do that myself, but if I hadn't had her, I would be doing…
  • OMG I'm on this site like everyday!
  • Sorry...can't answer your question BUT I am starting today :) I'm curious if anyone has any input on what other exercises they did in addition to 30DS. I've heard doing extra cardio is really effective since the video is only like 20 min of mostly strengthening/toning.
  • That's good advice, thanks :)
  • The best thing to eat when you're drinking is protein and veggies....they will stay with you the longest so you don't keep munching all night and are typically pretty low cal.
  • Progress, NOT perfection!
  • The Happiness Project :)
  • I used to love strawberry cream cheese on an onion bagel...the people at the bagel shop always gave me a grossed out face when I'd order it.
  • Weight Watchers worked for me for a while before I joined MFP. But there are only so many zero point pieces of fruit you can eat before you go WAY OVER your calorie limit. I was only eating about 2 pieces of fruit a day, though, and I still plateaued eventually. The problem is, their lowest Points Plus value is 29. And the…

  • I hate to say it but if you keep up with the running, you may eventually have to have surgery...which your doctor is right, you don't want it. I recently started running but due to volleyball injuries and a family history of bad knees, I think I may have to give it up if I want to stay active in the future. I've recently…
  • I agree with the jealousy statement. People feel better about themselves if they can bring you down with them. By saying "you're losing too much weight" or "you should eat more," it makes them feel better to see you fall behind in your efforts.
  • Woo hoo Rockville! I typically love spinach with feta, tomatoes, onion, and Bolthouse Farms honey mustard dressing. Their dressings are low cal and super delish.
