It's difficult for all of us to stay on the wagon. I guess the key for me is to not deny myself, if I'm craving something I eat it I just don't do it every day and when I do the portions are small. If I feel like I'm missing something I freak out and fall right off the wagon. We have to remember that this is a lifestyle…

I had a few wake up calls but there were two that drove me right over the edge. The first of which was when I discovered that at 5'7" tall I weighed more than Shaquille O’Neal weighs at 7'1" tall. The next came at my doctor's office. I am a cancer survivor and had to have a mastectomy while I was pregnant. Because I was…

My husband is diabetic as well and the other night his sugar dropped to 46 and it was the first time I have seen him show some control while trying to get his sugar back up. We recently went to a class and the woman leading it told us that while it is very important to listen to your body when your blood sugar drops you…

I'm with you, like you wouldn't believe. I actually said to my husband last night, "Oh my G-d, baby my cankles are gone! Baby, I have ankles again!" And then we did a little dance around the living room with our son singing, "Yay for ankles, yay!" Really we did. I promise, you will have ankles again, you will.

Great work, you should be really proud of yourself. I know how difficult it is to get the BP down my was always about 160/90 and last time I went to see the doc it was 90/60. Keep it up, you're doing great!

I love this one and totally relate! For so long I had to have my seat all the back in the car and work the pedals with pointed toes. Now when my husband gets in the driver's seat of my car he says, "Baby how close do you sit to the steering wheel?" and there is a good foot between me and the wheel now. YAY!

This is going to sound crazy but... Don't workout for a couple of days, give your body some time to rest and when you workout again completely change up your routine. For me the plateaus come when my body has become too used to my workout and food routines and once I give my body some time to rest and relax and change…

Stretch after you workout or run, it is so important to stretch your muscles while they are still warm. If you wait until you get home or until the morning the muscles have cooled and you don't get most of the benefit of stretching. I was plagued with gym injuries because I had forgotten about stretching the muscles while…

I love my Wii Active and my Wii Fit, they were all I used for workouts when I first started losing weight. I think the workout you get from it depends on what you put into it. You need to make sure that the resistance is a little difficult so that you actually get a good workout (I think someone else mentioned getting a…

I got a new workout buddy last night and we had an amazing time at the gym and burned over 1,000 calories!

Welcome! I hope you find this site as helpful as I do. So far MFP has helped me lose over 100 lbs. If you need encouragement I'm here for you!

Welcome! MFP has been an amazing tool and source of support for me and I hope it will be for you too. Diets don't work for me. I had to make a complete lifestyle change. I had to finally decide to take matters into my own hands and make better choices about food and exercise. Maybe that's the key, diets end and I was left…

I totally understand. I know you can do this and will it's just a matter of figuring out what your priorities are. A friend request is on its way...

I have lost a little over 100 lbs and have about 80 lbs to go. I have not had a problem with excess skin so far (knock on wood) but I'm sure I will. This is an issue I talked over with several doctors at length and my conclusion is that I need to wait at least two years after achieving my goal weight before my body will…

You're 23, have fun. If you're worried about your calories drink light rum and diet cola or club soda. Light rum is very low on carbs and calories.

She's right. BTW, great job and dedication. I bet you feel great! I'm always so proud of myself when I pull through the "I can't" moments and turn them into "I can" moments! Great job!

I used to eat exactly the same way, I totally get it. I'm 39 and a mother of one perfect little boy. I understand how difficult it is to stay on track with snack food for the kiddos in the house. I'm going to put in a friend request to you A.S.A.P. Let me know if you need anything, even just to vent.

I usually take my measurment once a month.
