I am so excited that the new season is starting. I have been a fan since Season 2. For workout motivation, I record the episodes and then watch them on my portable DVD player while doing cardio.

I think you're only counting the calories that you earn when you're working out. You body burns calories all day, not just when you go to the gym. It's called your Basal Metabolic Rate. Mine is 2099...which means I burn that many calories everyday simply by existing. You have to eat more because if you don't give your body…

I'm so glad you started this thread. I thought that maybe I was the only one who felt like the # of calories recommend by the site was a little off. I work out with a personal trainer three times a week, and he has me eating 2300 calories per day (just got bumped up from 1747:bigsmile: ) My gym has a Polar Body Age machine…

I completed my 1 hour spin class this morning...burned 847 calories. Unfortunately the indoor spin bikes don't tell you how many miles you've traveled, though I wonder if a pedometer would work on the bike? I wish I could bike outside! I know HOW to ride a bike, but I am the most accident prone person on earth and I don't…

Spinning is my FAVORITE cardio exercise. I do it at least 3 times per week and it is great for toning the hips and thighs. Since starting spinning, the cellulite on my thighs has done a disappearing act! I usually burn between 850 and 950 calories in one hour (per my Polar HR monitor). Two suggestions... (1) don't let the…

Half way through my cycling class this morning (just about when I was ready to throw in the towel for the day), a song came on that will probably be the new #1 song on my playlist...Stronger by Kanye West. I'm not a big KW fan, but the first line of the song did it for me..."that that don't kill me, will only make me…

Ditto! Especially peanut m&m's. I also have a problem walking past them in the checkout like at the grocery store.

I think her first single was S.O.S. Rhianna makes good workout music!
-
And for my pm workout today, it was Queen - We Will Rock You & Missy Elliot - Work It (cuz that's what I needed to do to make up for my two days of binge eating:laugh: )

Ok...I'll go with you...I like that song too. :embarassed: But hey, it has a catchy tune!

Same situation for me...my heart rate monitor is usually 100 to 200 calories more than the machine that I am using.
-
I was wrong...it's under "my home" and then "settings" and the "change forum signature"
-
No just copy and past it into your signature (i think it's under tools) and it will show up everytime.

I have several "workout" playlists on my IPOD, but my favorite right now is "Proud" by Richard Niles (aka, the theme song from The Biggest Loser). That song always gets me going!

Oh boy...I got bored and binged for two days straight:sad: No matter, I will be at my Weight Watchers meeting at 6:00 a.m. to face that scale, even though that's the last thing I want to do. Tomorrow is a brand new day...and it's going to be GREAT:bigsmile:

It depends on what type of workout I'm doing. I wear a Polar F6 heart rate monitor. It has a chest strap, so it constantly monitors my heart rate. When I workout, I aim to keep my heart rate above 140 BPM, which is 70% of my maximum heart rate. When I do an hour long group cycle class, I average between 850-950 calories.…

Ok...almost had a relapse at lunch today, but somehow I managed to fight it...sort of. I was craving McDonald's badly, so I got a kid's meal with milk. Has to be better than getting the supersized Quarter Pounder meal:ohwell:

I'm with you...I HATE running too, so I only do it once a week and only for 30 minutes. I try to do activites that I like (especially cycling) because I know that I will stick to an activity that I like. As far as no weights until you've lost weight, my personal trainer says that that is the biggest fitness lie out there.…

I LOVE cycling. I try to do it at least 3 days per week as it's one of the best cardio workouts I've found for myself. I wear a Polar F6 whenever I workout, and I burn between 850-950 calories (at 197 pounds) for each hour long workout.

When I joined my gym, it was explained to me that that HR numbers are lower for the fat burning zone because at a lower working intensity, you will be able to sustain the activity for a longer time, thus burning more calories. In the cardio zone, you are working harder, but will not be able to sustain the activity as long.

This a certainly a challenge that I need to be involved in. My binge item...anything from a fast food restaurant. As of last week, I had gained 5 lbs, so I know my binging has to STOP! I started on Monday, and as of today, I have not eaten any fast food. I weigh-in on Saturdays, so we'll see how it goes!

I have a desk job like you, so I chose the sendetary level on this website. However, my personal trainer has given me a different number of calories to eat than the number that was recommended by this website. According to MFR, I should be eating 1200 calories per day. However, my PT did a bodyfat analysis and based on my…

I have the same problem...except i also have the back fat to match the belly fat. I've been working out with a trainer and have lost about 7 inches off of my waist. Our formula: high protein (no less than 150 gm per day), low carbs (no more than 50 grams per day), and TONS of cardio (at least 60 minutes 6 days a week) in…

Thanks! I think I was struggling with the program because I felt like I wasn't eating enough to compensate for the amout of physical activity that I engage in (60-120 minutes 6 days per week). I love that trackers on this website look at net calories. I love seeing that I have calories left over at the end of the day after…

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! Is anyone out there following the Weight Watchers program? If so, I'm curious to know how that is working for you. I've been "trying" to follow the program for a few months, and it doesn't seem to be going too good for me.
