My boyfriend (Maryland) and I (Colorado) will be together for 4 years on May 16th. We've definitely had our ups and downs, but we're planning out future and talk about it a lot. Of course they work, you just have to have tons of patience and commitment. (: And we didn't start off close, we've always been separated.

I was on SlimGenics for a while, and they always said it was better to weigh yourself before doing any exercise because of water weight.

I'm 5'6, but I'm going for 150lbs. (:

Breakfast Club, hands down.

One word. Muscle. Especially if you notice inches coming off of you. Muscle weighs more than fat, yada yada, you're absolutely fine. A lot of people go off of inches over scale because that's more meaningful.

Wow, seems we're getting extremely sensitive.

Welcome to MFP. You and everyone else are welcome to add me. Been here for about 18 days now and loving it. (:

Welcome to MFP. Feel free to add me (:

Congratulations! I can't wait until I can say that for myself, but I'm glad you can. (:

ABSOLUTELY not. You are correct, and she is on a very unhealthy path. The way MyFitnessPal works is that they create a calorie deficit, so really if you just ate exactly within what it tells you without exercising, you'd lose weight. I'm currently 5'6 and 276lbs. If I were in a coma, my body would still need 2086 calories…

I've heard to eat back half of your exercise calories in order to keep your metabolism going. Don't stuff yourself, obviously, but I also wouldn't STRIVE to eat any of them back. If you're hungry, you're hungry, but I try to leave about half of my exercise calories over.

I have this problem and I just started. I lost 10lbs and gained like 5 back. Granted, my PCOS is acting up right now, but now my time of the month is over and I still have 3lbs back. I don't burn more than I eat, and I don't eat over enough to gain that back. Somehow I doubt it's muscle, too.

I'd love to be a member! 75lbs to go!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Not only are you probably gaining muscle (which weighs more than fat), but a lot of people lose inches while the number on the scale stays the same. Also, once you get closed to a healthy weight for your body, it's harder for those lbs to come off. Just keep at it, you'll get there (:

Looking good, thanks for the pics (:

Wow you look amazing. Thanks a lot!

Wow, thanks!

Wow, that's awesome! Can I ask you kind of a weird/personal question? Obviously fat is fat so whatever kind I lose I'm going to be happy, I was just wondering if you noticed your chest shrinking much. I've seen a lot of different results, but I'm assuming it changes for everyone like everything else does?

Helpful, thanks!

looks awesome!

I love this, and this is how I hope to be when I reach my goal weight. I never want to look down on or mock anyone overweight, because I've been overweight all of my life. I really don't want to change just because I lost weight. Not only would it be hypocritical, it's just wrong. Props to this woman.
