There are ways of reducing your body fat percentage while maintaining your current weight. You should research how to do that and it will involve more lifting. As you become more muscular your legs should become more pleasing to you. Here is a visual of body fat that I posted in y blog recently:…

My frig and cupboards are bare this morning and I grabbed the following on my way out the door: AM Snack: - 1 pc bread with peanut butter - blueberry nonfat yogurt Lunch: - 1 small potato - 2 T homemade vinaigrette (makes baked potato taste like hot potato salad) - orange Afternoon Snack: - 2 babybel - grapes This is a…

Do you know what your body fat percentage is?

I'm on the almond milk bandwagon! I've also had almond based yogurts and they were pretty good. But as far as calcium goes eat your greens! They have all the calcium you need. You don't need dairy products for calcium. There are alos a lot of other non-dairy sources for calcium, just google search. I am also a big fan of…

We are having brunch with some family. I'm not sure what to expect but will try to make the best choices I can! They asked us to bring angel food cake and fruit and that is all I know that will be there. I'm sure it will be fine. I'll make a healthy dinner at home and we'll get some exercise that day, too.

Ha some of these posts are a riot in here. I keep vegetarian during the week and only eat meat products on the weekends, but often I go the whole weekend without any meat products too. For example, this past weekend: Friday for dinner I made butternut squash soup using some homemade chicken broth from my freezer and…

Hi I just joined this group since it sounded interesting  I eat a plant-based whole foods diet for the most part. I eat vegetarian during the week but I allow meat on weekends. I make almost all my own food from scratch although we do eat out occasionally. I am not super strict about clean eating but I try to eat…

On my last juice fast I think the first 3 days were pretty rough and I felt lousy. Starting on the 4th day my headaches disappeared and I felt really good, although low energy. I continued working out for the 10 day fast but I took it easy. I had only fresh homemade juices and coconut water, no other supplements or…

That link is very helpful! Thanks! I track my juices by using the data here on MFP. If you search for example "beet juice raw" or "beet green juice" or "apple juice raw" etc. there is usually a listing I can use. For more common items I usually add "raw" to my search but for things like kale juice I find you don't need to…

Hey fenix I'm wondering how you are doing? I hope the medical stuff went ok? Sara, I did a 10 day juice fast earlier this year and I used a program you can probably find by googling "New Year New You Reboot with Joe". I highly recommend drinking juices before jumping into your juice fast just so you can get a feel for…

I did a 10 day fast earlier this year and am planning another 7-10 day fast in April. 100 days is a really long time though! I hope you are under the supervision of a real doctor if you are fasting for that long. Good luck! :drinker: and Juice On! PS - I only lost 5.8 pounds in 10 days so your loss so far is very…

Good luck! I did a 10 day juice fast a few months ago and i am planning another 7-10 day fast in April. :drinker:

If you are unhappy with your progress or hungry all the time I would try the new calculation for a time and see how that works for you. I also wonder if there is a way you can sneak in more exercise on you work days? Maybe a 30 minute walk on your lunch break or after work? Or sneak in squats and lunges every time you go…

Another thing that is soooo easy to do! If you ever make pasta and sauce for dinner just throw some fresh spinach into the pasta water right before you drain the noodles. Since the spinach wilts down you don't even notice it in there but you are eating greens.

Hey when I was 22 I didn't know what I was doing in the kitchen at all but wanting to eat healthier inspired me to learn how to cook and now I'm 40 and a dam good home cook if I do say so myself :) Roasting is a good way to cook veggies. Basically turn the oven up to about 400 degrees and put a tray of whatever veggie you…

I love cabbage! My favorite go to cabbage reipe is just a simple saute with some earth balance (fake butter) and a strong flavored seasoning like chicken or meat seasoning although I've used many other types too. Recently I've been using a tandoori seasoning since it is what I have on hand. :flowerforyou:

I am another big fan of oatmeal. Someone here on MFP shared this link with me and I made this recipe this week and I love it! http://ohsheglows.com/2011/09/20/make-ahead-steel-cut-oatmeal-4-new-oatmeal-recipes/ But I also have a mid-morning snack. Breakfast all the way to lunch is usually too long for me to wait!…

I juice daily and I love it. Watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. I also make smoothies quite often, usually green smoothies. I seriously don't care about the sugar content from fruits and veggies. I think the more fruits and veggies, the better. But a lot of people disagree with me. Personally I want to eat as many plants as…

I usually eat around 1800 too, I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks most days. My diary is open too. :flowerforyou:

It sounds like you are doing good to me! I think MFP gives guidelines but the practice takes a bit of tweaking. Do you lift? If not incorporating that might help transform you body measurements more quickly. Keep eating the same (and I assume you are exercising too) and focus on strength training for a few weeks and see…

Thanks for this! I tried it today and it totally worked! I realized then that I had used it this way before and had just forgotten how to do it! Thanks for the reminder!

 I'm going to try this - I have made taco "meat" with chickpeas but never with lentils and I LOVE LENTILS!

Last night I had homemade tomato sauce over a combination of whole wheat pasta and spaghetti squash which was very filling and I'm pretty sure it was fat free. I also had a salad but there was oil in the dressing so none of my salad dressing for you

Yes just go to Food -> Recipes and click on the one you want to view or edit. This has to be done online though. I don't think there is a way to do it from an app. :flowerforyou:

http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Lebanese-Lentil-and-Rice-Pilaf-with-Blackened-Onions-108813 I made this last week, just substitute brown rice. It was yummy and I skipped the blackened onion part.

Friend request sent, my diary is open :flowerforyou:

I tried to look at your diary but it is closed. What are you doing now? How much are you eating and how much are you exercising? What type of results do you want to see? :flowerforyou:
-
I think that is a really high protein goal. I would recommend you do a little research on how much protein you should be eating and adjust your macro goals under Home -> Goals -> Custom. But if you do want to eat that much protein add more beans, quinoa, brown rise, greens, lentils, etc which are all pretty high in protein.

I kind of set my own goals and ignore the way MFP calculates things but I set a range of 1600 net calories or 2000 max regardless of how much I exercise. That way I can eat back some if you look at it that way. But you have to figure out what works for you. There are a lot of paths to success here. :flowerforyou:
