Oatmeal! I eat it nearly every day. Only 150 calories per serving and it fills me up for the next 4-5 hours. And it's soooooooooo goooooooood mmmmm ooooooaaatttsssss

um....like $20-30/month rsrsrs. Some months I go over and buy big things in bulk, like oatmeal, rice, beans, and things like that that I can eat over the course of a few months, so most of my grocery shopping is just buying produce and such.

You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There's uh, eggplant-kabobs, eggplant creole, eggplant gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple eggplant, lemon eggplant, coconut eggplant, pepper eggplant, eggplant soup, eggplant stew, eggplant salad, eggplant and potatoes, eggplant burger,…

Use cinnamon instead of sugar! I eat sugar-free cereal with sugar free soymilk sometimes and it's kind of boring, but a little bit of cinnamon makes everything better (a packet of splenda or equal doesn't hurt either)

Heh, never done lent-y things. I'm more of a Pastafarian. Maybe i'll give up noodles in honor of His Noodly Greatness (though I'm not a huge fan of noodles to begin with...I don't even remember the last time I even ate noodles).

That whole thing about eating spiders in your sleep isn't true. I mean, what kind of spider would be stupid enough that it would crawl down someone's esophagus? No spider, that's for certain. They're just not that suicidal. On another note, if you do like eating spiders or other insects, I've heard they're actually quite…

^ Hurr durr derp. Couldn't tell I was upset. I know there are several rants per day. I'm hoping this will cut down on needless annoying posts and people can just have a central spot to complain about whatever they feel like complaining about without creating 5000 topics a day all complaining about the same damn thing.

Yessssss. Honestly, people should never believe anything they read on the internet. Unfortunately, most people do. What ever happened to "before starting any weight loss program, speak to your doctor to find out what's healthy for you?" This forum is absolutely NOT for people to come on here and get medical advice. In…

I always weigh more at the doctor. Not only is it food and clothes, but lots of people use the scale at the doctor's office all day, so I'm not totally sure how accurate their scale is or when the last time they checked the accuracy of it was.

Tea, some coffee, wine, vodka rsrsrs

I wouldn't eat if you don't feel like eating, especially if you feel nauseous. You don't want to make yourself sick. Just eat when you're hungry, and eat whatever you can handle. Just speak with your doctor if you're concerned. Remember that no one on here is licensed to give medical advice (and even if they say they are,…

Just burned off my entire 600 calorie lunch by simply walking back home from the restaurant :D

I've been trying to read In the Mind's Eye by Oliver Sacks, but school and exams got in the way so I've been neglecting it :( Oh, yes. Reading this in hardcover ;) Other than that, I've been reading the enthraling texts of Essential Cell Biology, Abnormal Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology, and The Practice of…

Only 3 years. I'm 21, he's 24. I've had lots of (married) men in their 50s try to hit on me, and I find it so gross. That would be like dating a parent. Euuu. I kind of get what they want me for (I'm young, they're bored with their wives) but (1) I'm not a jerk face and I'm not going to break up 20-30 years of marriage and…

Dude, have you guys ever tried that sweetener that's at whole foods by the pre-made coffee? I'm not sure what it's called, but there's a "z" on the package and the package is orange. It tastes cold! I don't even know how. It's so confusing though.

I honestly cannot taste aspartame. I don't know if it's because I'm so used to it because I chew gum all the time or what, but I've never noticed it. Maybe I just don't have taste receptors for it (which is entirely possible). My boyfriend can't taste it either.

Depends on who's calling (though normally it's on vibrate since I'm in class all the time). Regular calls - Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine Le boyfriend - A Glorious Dawn by Symphony of Science (Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking) Le best friend - Devil Made Me Do It - RuPaul

rsrsrsrsrs :D Yo, man, what happened to respecting differences of opinion? I teach a workshop on abusive relationship and not allowing differences of opinion is an unhealthy behavior. I thought people on here wanted to be healthy rsrs. Maybe everyone should just chill and have some chocolate. I had some today. It was tasty.

It's likely genetics. Some people have just have fewer sweat glands than others. Some people (like me) sweat a lot, others barely sweat at all. Sweating is how we cool our bodies, though, so just be aware of how you feel when you work out. If you feel lightheaded, stop and take a breather because you might be overheating.…

Did you know your alleged "real" wheat, corn, etc is genetically modified? Humans have been genetically modifying food since they started doing agriculture 10,000 years ago. Most of the time, gm crops are engineered so they provide more health benefits (e.g., rice with a higher percentage of vitamin A, corn with a lower…

"oh my god you stupid little sht why do you not go to 0 when I step off? Nothing does not weigh +/- 1 pound"

I'll for sure have to try that sometime. I'm not totally sure if I don't like tempeh because of the taste or just because of the texture, but I guess trying it in a tasty way will solve that issue.

I was a vegan for a few years. I should have probably found out I had low blood pressure before starting a vegan diet, since I was dizzy all the time rsrs. I didn't really have that hard of a time adjusting though, since I never ate milk products anyways, I don't like most meat, and I've never eaten eggs. I still keep to a…

Exactly. If you deny yourself the foods you crave, you're only putting yourself at risk for binging on them if you keep pushing back the cravings. I know. I've been there before many times. I just made the decision one day to step back and say "now wait a minute food. You're inanimate. I call the shots here" and ever since…

Not really a huge fan, but I have to represent the North Side (even though I'll probably be made fun of) and say the Chicago Cubs. Yes, I know they suck, but the fans have....spirit? (ok, so they actually have lots of beer, but the drunken enthusiasm counts for something, right? ....right?)
-
If I were you, I'd play up the fact that my mother works all day. I'd say "oh, you must be so tired. Let me make something for dinner" and then make her something healthy and totally delicious.

I give extra food to homeless people. It's cheaper than shipping stuff off to another country (especially since it could get lost in the mail and then the next thing you know, Somali pirates have intercepted your thin mints....or something). But where I live, there are homeless people all over the place, especially outside…

Aww, pain sucks. Have you ever talked to your doctor about birth control? It really does wonders for PMS and general menstrual pain (though sometimes it takes a lot of switching pills before you find one that works for you). Besides the obvious reason, I take the pill for my PMDD. Before I started, I was absolutely insane…
