OK, here's a question you've probably never heard before: Do carbs make you fat?
-
It doesn't matter that they say "Atkins" on them. They're just food products, like anything else. Like the above poster, I really like the Atkins bars. They DO taste like candy bars!
-
Wow, big change! Congratulations!

This. ^^^^

Just sustain your usual 5:30-per-mile pace, and you'll do just fine. I predict you'll finish in well under 17 minutes, so it'll be a short race for you. [Yes, I'm kidding. I couldn't run a sub-17:00 5K even in high school!]
-
Just curious, why are you ditching it? Looks like you've had a lot of success with it! I'm enjoying mine, and think that it's helped me out a lot with my weight loss.
-
How many calories is that? Like 700?
-
I love PB&Js too, but I haven't eaten them much since I started losing weight a few months ago. But I've always loved them.
-
Yes, exactly! That's why I'm pushing the pedal even harder as I approach my goal!

I did this workout three years ago when it came out. I don't think you can use resistance bands; at least Chalene doesn't show that as an option, if I recall correctly. She emphasizes lifting as heavy as you possibly can, and I don't think you'll find bands that will provide enough resistance. That's just my recollection.…

Wow, so great that you did it together! Congrats!

Don't get too hung up on the macros. Look, you're only eating a miniscule number of calories anyway. If you're under whatever number of calories you think you should eat, you're fine. Leave it at that.

This sounds yummy. But for people who are cooking-challenged like me, could you please share the details of how you do it? How much chicken? What kind of pieces (breasts, thighs, etc.)? How much sauce? Cooked for how long? :flowerforyou: Thanks!

How do you expect us outsiders to understand it, then?!? This Wikipedia article is all I know about the political structure of the UK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom But at least I now know that Ireland isn't a part of the UK. Gosh, I feel dumb.
-
Your former PM's website described the UK as four "countries within a country": http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/+/http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page823 If it's not a country, what would you call it?
-
No, I understand. What I'm saying is, Jamaicans do speak a different language. But it's not called "Jamaican." I get it.
-
That's the exact opposite of vanity sizing. The clothing in those stores runs really small, not large. So, for example, a "large" there would be a medium elsewhere. Until I lost weight, I had to buy XL t-shirts there -- and they barely fit! Polo by Ralph Lauren, on the other hand ... a medium t-shirt is big on me. I was…
-
Try watching The Harder They Come as an American-English speaker. Trust me, it's a different language!
-
Wait. You're not?
-
Sure I do. I lived in Michigan until I was 21.
-
I edited my post -- Northern Ireland is a part of the UK. Ireland is not. See what I mean? It's confusing.
-
Yes, but you have to admit that the UK is an extremely unique situation that not everyone will understand. I just found out a couple of weeks ago that the UK is really several countries within a country. Hell, until I read that very informative article, I thought Ireland (rather than Northern Ireland) was a part of the UK!…

Try being from Phoenix. Everybody says, "Oh, but the summers aren't too bad, right? It's a dry heat." Yes, a dry heat that makes you feel like you're being cooked in a freaking oven, thank you very much. :explode: Stop comparing your stupid 90-degree/high-humidity summers to our 115 temperatures, okay? There is no…

The article says that "One McDonald's employee confessed to slathering grilled chicken breasts with liquid margarine to keep it from sticking." It doesn't say that every employee does it, or that McDonald's instructs its employees that it be done that way, and thus the nutritional info the company provides is completely…
-
Just look up the nutritional info online and figure out which item(s) fit within your caloric budget today. If you have at least a few hundred calories budgeted for dinner, you should be able to find something.
-
We don't go outside in the summer here in Arizona. For us, July is like your January. It's almost intolerable to be outside for any length of time.
-
What about hobbies? Why not indulge yourself in those while your son is away? It's okay to sit at home sometimes and read or watch TV. You don't need to fill up every spare second with activities just because you're "free" for awhile. It's okay to just relax.
-
Why do you care?

This. ^^^^^

Great results, Steffie. You're killing it! Keep up the good work!
