  • Great, now I'm craving a Tom Collins.
  • In addition to many other things mentioned... I often add sugar-free coffee creamer for sweet/flavor -- or sugar-free pudding mix -- I love pistachio in fage 0%plain --
  • If you join a good gym, they include daycare :) I know mine does and most of the women in my zumba drop them off there!
  • I wish someone had given me a letter like this when I was 25. Maybe I wouldn't have spent 25 years of my life as a fat cow in denial ... But little kids? No..
  • I tried at home.. and while it was fun, I lost motivation quickly... I started going to the gym and love it! Stand in the same area every time and you'll get ot know people... I now have about 15 people from class on my facebook and I get harassed when I don't show up -- plus we're friends and often do dinner after class,…
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Also not mentioned - very high rate of infertility.
  • Yep... been dealing with this for 30 years.. but not diagnosed untl 20 years. Nothing you can't live with... :) It does make it harder to lose weight, especially if you also become Type II diabetic. There are several PCOS groups on here too... Soul Cysters to name one.. do a search. This is extremely common -- and lots of…
  • Ten Inch Hero -- my favorite movie no one has ever heard of :)
  • Taste of protein is a very personal thing.. I personally cannot stand ON but some people like it. I would never pay for shakeology when there are so many cheaper options that taste great -- you just have to figure out what you like and how to mix it and you're set. Here are some ideas of where to get samples:…
  • I actually found one specific bra at Target that is a lifesaver for me and is the only thing that holds the girls in place while I jump around at zumba like a crazy woman. I pull the padding out (sure dont need it) and I took the straps and crisscrossed them instead of normal bra style -- I have one in every color now.…
  • My protiein goal is MUCH higher than yours ... the MFP default in my opinion is way too low. Because of that, I do have at least one protein shake a day and sometimes I add it to oatmeal, greek yogurt etc. My macros are 40% protein, 30% carb, 30% fat I guess the question is just for you... is 50-70g enough for you? I…
  • I had developed Type II Diabetes and was shooting insulin in my stomach a few times a day. I went to the doctor and had a heart test as was told my heart was 73 years old.. I was only 45 at the time. I went home, quit smoking cold turkey and changed my life, my diet, my exercise... I was killing myself.
  • Use the one you like... I like Nectresse for some things, baking with half real sugar, half splenda, splenda brown on my oatmeal, sweet-n-low in my coffee, equal never. stevia rarely unless its in my whey protein. NOTE: If you do decide to try Xylitol make sure you know it is highly toxic to pets -- this is why I do not…
  • I count anything fluid in water intake --- but if it has calories, I also add it to my diary
  • I quit cold turkey 6 years ago -- after 25+ years of smoking (sometimes up to 2-3 packs a day) I had a wake up call -- at 45, overweight, diabetic -- the doctors told me my heart was 73 years old. I quit that day and never looked back. Now I'm down 120lbs, no longer diabetic, no more insulin, no more cigs and feel 30…
  • Now we need a list for how not to be a gym douche in group fitness classes....
  • I'm always a fan of the small plates... I'd get chicken spiedini skewer and some polenta.(if you don't like seafood) From the dinner. anything under secondi looks fine... without seafood, go with woodfire or steak or chicken - nothing wrong with asking for sauce on the side - people do that all the time. PS if you have…
  • Top 5 Shrimp Bacon Avocado Yogurt anything on the grill HATE Cilantro Green Pepper Any fruit with savory dishes - but love both separately
  • I can easily gain/lose 2-5 lbs over night .. and its usually because I had way too much sodium the day before and didn't have enough fluids.
  • I lost a fashion model.... dang, I would have liked to keep her and just lose fat.
  • There are lots of places to get samples ---- I wrote this blog post some time ago but I know most of it still exists. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/MissMaryMac33/view/protein-samples-101-260411
  • No one can tell you what you're going to like ---- I personally think Optimum nutrition is one of the absolute worst tasting, yet someone mentioned its their favorite. I often make protein shakes for breakfast...and if you mix them with almond milk and coffee you can mask the flavor of any crappy tasting protein you don't…
  • Have not read the books --- but watched all 3 seasons. l love Sansa -- but Daenerys is definitely my girl crush!
  • I have both a Polar FT60 and a FitBit ONE -- I use both for different reasons. The Polar HRM is good for a specific activity -- like going to the gym and doing zumba for an hour. FitBit doesn't track things like that -- it keeps a running tally of your entire day -- steps, stairs, calories burned etc. FitBit also tracks…
  • My results from http://SelectSmart.com/religion: Spiritual Belief System Selector Rankings: 1. Unitarian Universalism (100 %) 2. Liberal Quakers - Religious Society of Friends (93 %) 3. Mainline - Liberal Christian Protestants (86 %) 4. Reform Judaism (79 %) . . .. . 27. Roman Catholic (18 %) This is interesting... I was…
  • This is a pretty interesting little quiz: http://www.selectsmart.com/PRO/myreligion.php tells you which religion your beliefs actually fit into best and ranks them all in order. I went to Catholic school from kindergarten through college ... and it appears 26th out of 27 in my beliefs :) This is pretty accurate as I have…
  • They have a better manual online --- but make sure you update the settings to fit you. (age, height, weight etc.) The FT7 doesn't have the VO2 max setting so you don't have to worry about that I had an FT7 for a couple years... just upgraded to FitBit plus Polar FT60 -- who doesn't love fun gadgets? :)
  • 1200 is too low for just about everyone... I'm not sure where that "magical" number came from. I eat about half my exercise back just to account for food miscalculation and exercise tracking differences. I wear a Polar FT60 so I think the calorie burn is pretty accurate but I would never go by the numbers programmed in MFP.
  • Of course.... I count ANY fluid as water as I NEVER just drink plain water... I drink a ton of decaf and regular coffee, ice tea, protein shakes, almond milk, crystal light --- its all fluid and counts. NOTE: If it has calories, I count it in my meals AND then I add it to my water tally. NOTE 2: I think its ridiculous that…
