What causes people to overeat? Really? They choose to. I didn't think I had to spell that one out for you or anyone else.
-
By consuming more food than they needed to and not using the excess energy - which was then stored in fat cells and caused them to balloon up to an uncomfortable and / or unhealthy weight. People can also LOSE weight by NOT cutting out sugar from their diets, and many do. Imagine that.
-
An opinion isn't stated as fact. An example of stating something as a fact: "Sugar is dangerous and causes cancer!"
-
People are getting on your case because you're spreading misinformation. Sugar is only "DANGEROUS" if you have diabetes, and even then only if you take in too much. Sugar is in most things, and in many things that are a very nutritious and important part of a well-balanced diet. To tell people they should stay away from it…
-
I got fat because I ate too much of everything, not because I ate things with sugar in them. Now if I ate 1200 calories a day of pure sugar, there might be some health issues to come, but I don't because I know what balance means.
-
You don't burn fat, you burn calories, a.k.a. energy, which is stored in fat cells. Fat cells are important, as is energy.

Chocolate milk - still is. lol

My mother had decided to move to NY right before it happened, for a new job. After it happened, I had to decide whether I wanted to go with her or move in with my boyfriend and his mother. I stayed in Ohio. I remember visiting my mother in NY several months after she had moved, and I was pregnant with my son by then. I…

Saving about 200 cals for something in the evening after I work out has worked for me in the past - but I have less cals to work with now that I'm trying to lose this 10lbs I gained back. I plan my food for the day the night before now, usually plan to eat something semi-sweet after workouts to satisfy my cravings.…

Calories aren't an exact science, anyways... they're just a tangible representation of the energy that comes from and is stored within the foods we consume. This can differ from serving to serving, and even bite to bite, and everyone's metabolism utilizes the energy from food in a slightly different rate / way. It's more…

OP - your abs are scary... in a good way, I swear. I think I want to try making a protein cheesecake now.

Six Star Whey Isolate in vanilla is really good, I like it better than the last brand I bought, but ON Natural Whey in vanilla was my favorite. I just saw a buy one get one at Meijer when I went shopping and grabbed 2 tubs of the Six Star, one in vanilla and one in chocolate - which I haven't opened yet. My only issue with…

I'm thinking this banana chick probably sh*ts rocket fuel.

So true... when I saw a picture of myself at almost 200lbs that is what finally made me decide I needed to DO something about my weight.
-
Well if you want to split hairs, be my guest. My point was that you really can't gain substantial, or even visibly noticeable, muscle mass on a calorie deficit. Hence the use of the word "negligible". It's nothing someone should be worried about and surely not something they should be upset about. Muscle is a good thing.
-
It's negligible and is usually only known to happen in people who are very overweight and / or have never done any real strength training before or in the recent past.
-
You can't gain muscle on a deficit, nor can you gain actual weight. What you have is probably extra water weight or glycogen. Your muscles need to heal and sometimes our weight fluctuates due to this process. Everyone's weight fluctuates on average between 5-10lbs from the beginning of the day to the end of the day and is…

Love yourself. No one else has to if they can't love you for who you are then they aren't worth your time. You're beautiful inside and out. Once you believe that it won't matter to you what anyone else looks like or says you should look like.
-
I'm so jealous of your figure... your waist... and boobs! (Sorry) Seriously, you're gorgeous!
-
Cubed and roasted in the oven with olive oil and herbs / spices. Yummers.

I gained about 15 pounds over the course of several months, due to not exercising and over-eating, from 130-145 pounds. I noticed... big time. I'm sure other people noticed, too. I couldn't / still can't really fit into my booty jeans. :( Between 5-10 pounds never seemed to be a big deal, though.
-
 OP  You're my new role model. Your back looks amazing!!!

Females are bombarded with unrealistic images of underweight or incredibly slim, fit women from a very young age. It's programmed into our minds that the standard of beauty must include x, y, and z or it's just not good enough. Men are conditioned, in many cases, to believe it's alright and perfectly acceptable to judge…

This drives me insane. Obviously, the container is meant for one person, since it's a small, microwaveable bowl... to eat out of... smh.
-
I feel bad for you. We shouldn't expect our partner to fulfill all our wants / needs anyways... that's just naive. But, if and when you DO find someone that can do that, THAT is the one you marry.
-
Love me some abs and intelligence. :3
-
I do, and always eat at least half if not all. I don't think I could deal with the lower calories if I didn't get to eat a bit extra that I'm given from exercise. :3

I'm on my second Mirena IUD. I had the first replaced back in March this year. My first one was put in by an intern so it didn't go very well and was quite painful. I had very bad cramping for about 3 months after the first was put in, and had a large, dime-sized cyst rupture on one of my ovaries. However, I kept the IUD…

From my own experience, when I reached goal weight, I gradually increased my calories every 2 weeks by 200 until I got up to 2000 calories and decided I shouldn't eat more than that. I was originally eating 1200 calories when losing. It worked really well for me for over 2 years until I left MFP and stopped working out for…
