It's going to vary from person to person based on a number of parameters (age, weight, speed, incline [in the case of using a treadmill], heart rate, and so on). I tend to burn over 800 calories spending 50 minutes on a treadmill based on the parameters I enter prior to it…

It's funny you bring this up...this past Friday I also had a craving for fries. I "satisfied" said craving with a value size order of BK fries (but paid for it in terms of calories...ugh). I concluded it was more of a hunger for something salty.
