How's everyone doing today? :)

Amazing! Congrats!

I'm in Arkansas, too! :) I started using MFP because of their mobile app--love it! I especially love the barcode feature for scanning items into my diary.

No leggings. I'd say go with the more conservative, professional look. Even if it is a gym, it NEVER hurts to look professional. Oh, and good luck! I hate interivews!

We went to Victoria and Vancouver, Brittish Columbia (Canada). It was gorgeous...the coast, the mountains, the weather (mid-July the weather was PERFECT). It was really great! I didn't want to go to a tropical location, because I had spent the previous two years in Thailand, so Canada was perfect for us.

I'm so sorry, hon! That is a lot to take in one day. I've been at rock bottom before (not necessarily with weight issues, but with other really difficult things), and have cried for days (weeks, months...) over them. But it does sound like you've got family and friends who care about you, so that's good. And there's plenty…

Expensive, but I got some recently from Williams Sonoma. They also have odd-size measuring cups and spoons (2/3 cup, 1 1/2 cup, etc).

I love my job (pharmacy supervisor), but if we're talking about dreams, stay-at-home mom, actor on Broadway, Olympic gymnast, or astronaut. Of course, I could never really do any of those things (except be a SAHM), but they'd be cool!

I'm 33, mother of one! Feel free to add me! :)

Pistachios, fish (salmon, tuna, etc), paprika, seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, etc).
-
Way to go! I'm starting to get to that point, too, with my pants!
-
This! I LOVE it now, but I didn't always. It definitely grew on me, though.

Hi there! I'm also fairly new here, have also done Weight Watchers Online in the past, and am also trying to lose my pregnancy weight! Good luck to you!

Love basil chicken (pad gra pao...although it is stir-fried)! That's what I usually get at Thai restaurants. Watch out for things with peanut sauce, too. And a lot of the soups/curries may be made with coconut milk. Most Thai restaurants will also have some generic chicken/veggie/stirfry type dish.

Now this is an article I can get on board with! :) I think the default fiber intake recommendation on MFP is too low. I changed mine, but it could lead pepole astray, IMO.

It is possible. The tricky thing about it is that it can manifest in so many different ways, so without testing, it is hard to know for sure that it isn't something else. I have been avoiding gluten/wheat for several months now, and I feel so much better! Less bloating, less headaches, and way less joint pain. I don't find…

Running! Hate it!

IMO, the fiber recommendation on MFP is way too low! For women, at least 20 - 30g per day, and for men, 30 -40g. Those are just ranges...depends some on age & lifestyle, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Always consult a physician. But the default on MFP is way too low. You can adjust the settings for your diary to…

Looks tough, but I'll try!

Way to go!

I really like this one over sparkpeople, which I used and liked a few years ago. It had some great motivation, but was pretty busy. I've also used WeightWatchers Online, but decided to look for something free and with a better mobile apparently. A coworker recommended MFP, and it fit my needs...a large food database, easy…

I've found that any diet that tells me I cannot ever have a cookie (substitute whatever other tempting goodie you want) on occasion is probably going to lead to burn-out, and I'm probably not going to stick to it long term. Allow yourself some "cheats" every now and then. Maybe do a bit more exercise today to make up for…

LOL...my mom did that, too, when she went to WW meetings in the 80's. I have also heard of WW members who would actually undress (mostly) before weighing. BUT, before you judge, consider this: I just looked at a thread here on MFP that asked when & how you weigh in. Nearly everyone said AFTER they pee, and while naked. Go…

Yep. Same things that WW promotes. I made the switch to MFP from WW Online for a few reasons: the mobile app was better, it was FREE, and you can better track other nutrients, such as fiber and calcium intake. Otherwise, nothing else is different...I still exercise, make the right nutritional choices, etc. MFP just uses…

I used to do WW online. The only comment I have is that I was never hungry when I ate all of my points...they do not promote starvation. You are encouraged to eat all of your points...jst like you are here with calories. If you read their articles, they promote healthy choices, finding the right balance of…

That's cool! Good to know for the future... Edited to say: I just went to check it out, and there are different options for different stages of breastfeeding (i.e. exclusive breastfeeding, breastfeeding older baby, tandem nursing, etc). i am actually still breastfeeding--mostly just morning and before bed, and so I chose…

Congrats to you! I think you've gotten some good advice, and I'm sure your doctor will be able to point you in the right direction. In general, 300-500 extra calories is a good range, but I think more important than focusing on or restricting calories is making sure that you are eating foods with really great nutritional…

I'd definitely try changing it up. Maybe even increase calorie intake a bit...if you burn 500 cal per day, and only eat 1500 cal, this could actually be too few calories, and could have a negative effect on your metabolism. Different exercises, maybe varying calorie intake for a while. Good luck!

I can relate. But what I've found is that it usually takes me four to six weeks to see any actual weight loss. And in the beginning, I may even see weight gain, since muscle weighs more than fat. Have you taken measurements to see if you're losing inches? Have you noticed a difference in the way your clothes fit? I'm sure…
