I eat red meat all the time. I certainly can't fit carb heavy pastas with fattening sauces in my macros. I plenty of carbs and good fats, but pasta is a killer for my macros. You can get protein in places other than red meat, but unless she's putting chicken or fish in her pasta, she's missing out on the protein, which is…

I gave it up a few years ago. I'm so glad. You'll hear people say you don't have to give it up, and they can do what they want, but if you're interested in giving it up, go for it. I have started focusing more on macros in the last 4 months or so, and there's no way I would make my macro goals if I ate fast food. I still…

I don't count them, even if I do lots of extra cleaning or chasing of the kids. Only time set aside spent exercising is what I'll count.

Amazing transformation! Congratulations on all your hard work and success!

You look incredible!

Looking great, keep up the good work!

You look amazing! Look at how far you've come! You look years younger.

I was too embarrassed to take any pictures when I was obese. I think you can see in my comparison pic that I posted, my before pic kind of shows how my stomach sat in my lap (I had already lost 25 of the 35 lbs. of baby weight). After the c-section of my second child, after they removed the tape and bandage covering my…

I guess I didn't know that I was a lazy, excuse making person until I read this thread. I DO think that people sabotage, and the way I avoid it is to avoid them or the situation. I was under the impression that this was taking control and stopping the excuses, but I see that I am wrong. I guess I just have to own up to…

My gut hung over so far that you could only see the very bottom part of my panties when looking at me from the front, and only if I stood tall. My stretch marks were deep, purple, and angry. I was so repulsed by my own body. I refused to believe that surgery was the answer. I worked hard, and am still working hard.…

Don't know if the pics will post since I don't have my husband helping me, lol. The first one is after my 3rd child, and I had already lost almost all of my baby weight (topped out at 235 lbs.). I weighed 210 in that pic. Also, my second child was a C-section. The second picture is of me tonight at 150 lbs. I still have…

Lift heavy. If I understand correctly, you're not worried about losing weight necessarily (which I personally don't think you need to at all, so please don't think that I'm suggesting that you need to lose any weight). I think you are in a fantastic position to benefit from strength training. Do some reading in the forums…

My rule is if I can pull my jeans off without unbuttoning or unzipping them, it's time for a new size down.

Do NOT worry about toe striking. Also, your calves will be just fine.

There are some great tips on here. I agree with logging every single day, every single bite. If you want help and encouragement with that, keep your food diary public. If you are going to end up lying because you feel ashamed of your food choices, keep it private. That really depends on you. I have mine public, but I…

Russian kettlebells yesterday, taekwondo today. I NEED to get on track with running, though! My first 10k is on Jan. 1 and I'm not prepared!

I'm just learning how to be in a group, so sorry about not checking in here! :) SW: 235 CW: 151 (Thanks, TOM) LW: 148 GW: Undecided Right now I'm trying to lower my body fat % as well as build muscle, so I'm not sure what to expect from the scale. I just started Russian kettlebells a couple of weeks ago, so am excited to…

Don't worry about skin. Deal with it if it's a problem when it's a problem. The only people that I have talked to that have had any problem with it are gastric bypass patients, and it's from losing so quickly. Most people lose at a slow enough rate where it's not an issue. Remember that your skin is not just a covering-…

I'm afraid of fast food and it has nothing to do with the calories. Nasty. Eat all you want, I'll stay fast food free, and we'll all be happy.

I have Vibram's, and their website has an entire PDF to download about how slowly you should ease into running with them. I don't know how quickly you started running or the distance or how you eased back into it after the time off, but my guess is just that you pushed yourself a too quickly. Many people have injured…

I didn't take pics before I started lifting, but... I hit 150 lbs., which was 5 under my goal weight, and I did NOT like what I saw. I was size 9/10 jeans. About 6 weeks of body weight exercises, I was still 150 lbs, but was a size 5/6 jeans. That's what I'm wearing in my profile pic.

Nice muscles!

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/theologynerd This is my personal experience so far, and why I am just astonished what weights can do for women. Do NOT worry about getting bulky. Women that get like that do it on purpose, and work super hard at it, and know what they're doing. If it were so easy that it could accidentally…

Seriously! Like if people lift heavy, they'll get super muscular. I'm glad it's THAT EASY, like they don't work they're butts off to look that way. People promote strength training because it's good for the body, not so you can wake up huge. Just doesn't happen.

I waited to lift and regret it. I got to my goal weight and was SO disappointed with what I saw in the mirror. Totally skinny fat, which of course, sounded GREAT when I was fat! Anyways, I was a size 9/10 at 150 lbs., and within 6 weeks of lifting, I was a size 5/6, and at the exact same weight. I was 149 this morning, and…

I haven't re-sized mine yet, but I did use a metal spacer that was put on for about ten bucks. They said it would last longer than a plastic one. The metal one lasted a few months, maybe three or four, before it got bent badly enough where it couldn't be fixed (by us, anyways). At that point I set my wedding ring aside.…

Fantastically written. Made me teary! Congratulations on all your hard work!
