Start with MFP defaults- don't make yourself crazy focusing on macros when you're starting out. You want to get into proper habits. For myself, I prep my breakfasts, lunches and dinners and snacks on Sunday night and put them in portioned tupperware. I HIGHLY recommend using measuring cups and a food scale so you are…

There's a Jackrabbit near my office...I'm going to go and try running and let them tell me what's best for my feet.

Did you have to repeat weeks? When did it get difficult for you?

I can walk NP- for me, breathing is a BIG issue as well, maybe even more so than my legs. My legs I run into issue with my shins hurting, since who the hell ever really uses those unless youre a runner?!

I volunteered at 2 TM events, including the World's Toughest Mudder. While I know that the running is secondary, there is still at least a mile between obstacles, and I can't currently run a mile. And I'm running with a friend, who is definitely a seasoned runner! My goal for the next 8 weeks is to get up to comfortably…

This. This is exactly why I know that I have to buckle down and just keep at it if I want to do it. How often should I run? Every other day like the program suggests?

SLOW. I mean like, 4mph..It's a jog. My lungs are on fire, my legs hurt instantly. I don't understand why it's SO hard for me

There's no "right" way... When I do TnG (touch & go), I tend to keep the weight lower and do more reps (about 135# for 8-10reps) or PRs, where I'll to 3-4 reps MAX at 165#-#173# with about 90sec- 2 min rest in between

Incredible. You look awesome :)

I'll take it!

An honorable man...someone who respects his family, his friends, his woman. Someone who is a good man, a good friend and an honest person. I believe a gentleman is a good man, even when no one is looking. Don't hold the door open for me and treat me to dinner if you are lying or disrespecting me when I'm not looking.

I'm a single mother. I do not get offended if a man doesn't want to date me because he doesn't want kids, doesn't want to deal with the baggage of my having a kid, doesn't want to fall into a step-father role or doesn't want to deal with my ex (who is a great and very present father)...That just means they are not the man…

Food processor! I need to add that to my list too!

The Garmin is great, but it is pricey. Have you considered a more moderately priced HRM? The Garmin 110 is considerably less? If you're looking for GPS functionality, you can maybe combine tools, such as using a Polar FT4 HRM (about 65$) and a running app, such as Edmodo or Nike+ Run? Just throwing some idea out there :)

Over the years, I had a lot of "moments"...Ones that would get me to diet and workout for a few weeks or months but didn't lead to anything substantial. I lost 40 lbs 4 years ago and have kept it off, hovering around 200lbs and a size 14. Not in plus sizes any longer, I was complacent, but thought "good enough". This past…

Did you wet it prior to starting your workout? It needs to be damp. Is it sliding up or down or over your sports bra? Have you changed the batteries? All 3 of these things have been the reason mine had given me that message in the past- Ive had it for over 3 years and it works great except under these conditions

This. For me, it started with the elliptical and an aerobic DVD, then I tried Spin classes, and kettlebells, I prefered kettlebells... then I read "the new rules of lifting for wome", and soon it became lifting as well. Additionally, I taught my 6 year old to bike ride and got a bike and soon it became bike riding. Now, 10…

This. I do Crossfit and there are certain workouts where we'll use dumbells instead of the bar and I always find myself having to use a lighter weight.

I sure as heck am! However, my industry involves a lot of client lunches and dinners and happy hours around this time, so I am meticulous about scheduling my workouts and prepping all my meals for the weeks around that. I know that I will more likely be maintaining than losing with the number of "cheat" days, because even…

Please please please step FAR FAR FAR away from the Smith machine. There are So many resources to help you with proper squat form, lots of youtubes, people at the gym... just Please. Away from that awful contraption

I started about 2 months ago and I'm in love. First and foremost, FORM FORM FORM. Ask questions, perfect your basic form. If you dont set a solid foundation, you're setting yourself up to get hurt. Of course, with a number of CF workouts, your form starts to break down at max reps, max effort, but make sure you are…

FIND A NEW CROSSFIT GYM IMMEDIATELY. I tried out 3 different boxes before I chose the one I joined 2 months back. 1 was only 2 blocks from my house, but I didn't get a good vibe. Make sure you have a conversation with people there, and with coaches. The box that I'm in now is great. My coach will ALWAYS take time to…
