I never considered one for myself, but I received one as a gift through work, and I love it. It's the jawbone UP, and the numbers it gives me on lazy days is fairly close to all the formulas Ive used for my TDEE. Is it fool-proof? Absolutely not. But it makes me conscious of how much activity Im getting, and it let's me…

FOAM ROLLER. My calves, ankles, shins, thighs EVERYTHING was MISERABLE when I attempted C25K. Im still not a runner by any stretch of the imagination, but the foam roller is the only reason I was ever able to run longer than 30 seconds at a time

Planet Fitness is cheap, which makes it an easy and sometimes only choice for people. However, the issue with Planet Fitness is that little of their campaign and goals actually have much to do with fitness. I went to one briefly- they are one of those "no lunking, no grunting, no effort" places. I got yelled at for doing…

I'm impressed, maybe jealous, but to declare it WAR because she does and I didn't (and still don't) look like that after a baby? We as a society have lost our goddamn minds! I am all for campaigns that promote *HEALTHY* body image, like Dove's campaign and others that advocate real bodies over airbrushed stick figure…

I'm not a big fruit person myself, but I pre-log them as part of my meals or my snacks so once it's in writing, it gets done. I throw a banana into my oatmeal or put an apple on my desk so when I get a hankering for a snack, I HAVE to eat the apple because otherwise, I'm being totally silly getting anything else. All my…

I just need to be able to find my way back here and drool a little later.

The herniated disc is an old injury, and I have the go ahead to workout and surgery was ruled out. Unfortunately, I have to live with a slight bulge in the back of my neck. It's minor, but when I load up the bar, the pressure is what causes it to hurt.

I have a herniated cervical disc, it's at the base of my neck/upper back. Ive had physical therapy and my doctor and I have ruled out surgery. I have the go ahead to work out. The pain from squats doesn't come from the disc itself, but because it's a slight bulge, the bar rests really painfully on it.

Go ahead and add me! I lift and do HIIT. I also eat a balance of carbs/fats/protien and my diary is always open. Although, you're going to have to disregard this week--- kitchen remodeling and no prepped meals, oops?

Yep... that "falling forward" feeling had me dipping my knees in to come up. It didnt feel right at all.
-
Yea I def feel myself coming forward. Just a little background, I do CrossFit, and so I was working on 5 sets, 5 reps @ 65%, so I had 85lbs on the bar. I had to take it down to 75 for the workout, but later in the day I loaded up max just to give it a shot and it was just NOT happening. I am going to work on this bar only…

I love this thread, I lift heavy weights and do a lot of HIIT. I have seen AMAZING progress in my strength and in the shape of my body. I haven't stepped on a scale in ages and I dont need to because my pants are falling off of me at a rate Ive never experienced before. Amazing!
-
This is why numbers are silly... I'm,5'3", 195 and wear a 12 or 14. Every body is built and shaped differently. I was a 16-18 at 220lbs. I have noticed a HUGE change in my body with Crossfit and weight lifting, but not on a scale. DO NOT define yourself by a number, not on the scale or your pants. Just sayin

...Wait, a man acts like a real man should and all of our panties are getting wet? It's kinda sad how low our standards are. But this man really is delicious...

Yes, and I found it extremely useful and had great success. I left that model and got involved in CrossFit instead, but I see a lot of the same exercises and theories applied in CF as in NROL. Give it a read, great book...and GO LIFT!

I'm doing a Tough Mudder in April, a Spartan Sprint at the end of May, a Super Spartan in June, Rugged Maniac end of June and the Warrior Dash in July, and another Tough Mudder in October... YES, I've LOST MY MIND and I'm beyond excited for all of it. They are not easy, you will want to work on OVERALL fitness- do…

I never consider men I date in terms of who I would bring home... My family is very old school European and conservative, which I am not and neither are the men I date. If they are a good man, my family will have to deal. I have a very specific type, and I will never apologize or deviate from it- personality is VERY…

I have to agree here. I find that a little sweat really makes me feel better. I often stick to cardio when I'm sick, helps boost my energy. I went to CrossFit 3x last week with strep throat (while on Anti-biotics, not infecting the whole gym!). And while I was TOTALLY miserable during the workouts, I felt much better…

That's awesome! Nothing like having someone else acknowledge your weight loss. It's like HELL YES!!! My winter clothes from last year look awful on me too..I'm living in sweater dresses because my pants make me look like a sloppy mess. Similarly to you, I lose a ton of weight a few years back, but then I maintained for 3…

Technically, YES, you can do this. However, anyone who has had long term success understands that a calorie isn't just a calorie...It's fuel. Do you think your body will run more efficiently on 1200 calories of chocolate or of a balance of protein and carbs? I have found far more success in the quality of the food instead…

I actually found that being REALLY REALLY public about it helps me stay on track. I "check-in" at the gym, I post all my prepped meals, pics of my HRM after a workout, screenshots of my WODs, new gym gear or whatever on Instagram, those cliche but wonderful "fitspo" quotes litter my facebook and my instagram. I signed up…

The best thing I ever did for myself is swap 80% of my cardio nonsense for weights. REAL weights, not Barbie barbells and hip abductor machines. Im still overweight but my god, I feel so much healthier, have so much more energy and I can see & feel my body reshaping it. You DO NOT NEED CARDIO to lose fat- a steady healthy…

I hate fast food, but my god do i LOVE me some whiskey. Cheat meals are always BBQ ribs or Thai noodles. RIbbbbbs..... mmmmmm Ribs & Jack... mmmmm

Technically, I have 60 lbs to lose. Or maybe about 50 now... I'm not sure. I haven't stepped on a scale in months... But I am working towards a specific body rather than a number, but ideally, it would be able 50-60 lbs from where I am. I log every day, prep almost all my meals, lift regularly and am training for 2 major…

You wont regret it! Splurge on an early xmas gift to yourself and get one session with a personal trainer and ask them to walk you through free weights... youll feel better about your form and the moves youre doing
