DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T! Everything they said. It was awful! AND, it's unrealistic AND your body NEEDS fats. Just dont.

Overcoming a fear of lifting at the gym is HARD. I was terrified at first, but after a while, I realized that NO ONE was looking at me or judging me and if anything, men seemed IMPRESSED that I was lifting free weights rather than judging. You can do it!!
-
I cant do a chin up either!!! But I'm working on it. It's a big part of CF to be able to manage your own body weight, but I still struggle with it A LOT
-
Ive already registered with a friend, but it would be wonderful to have a group (especially of veterans) to run with!
-
Foam roller is my best friend. Is it your calf or your shin? I got shin splints when I started running, in which case ice and compression are your friends.

Neither shame nor regret will do you any good- let go of the negative feelings and instead replace it with *THANKFULNESS*. We all go through life feeling like the hand we were dealt is somehow not good enough, and unfortunately it;s not until we see someone who has it worse that we appreciate what we have. My journey has…

Single full-time working mom of a 6 year old. I workout 5 days a week and cook healthy balance lunches and dinners for both of us every day. If I can, you can!

Thanks. I know they scale it, but just from what Ive seen it looks like even the beginners are miles ahead of me. Fingers crossed >.<

Ill make meatballs/meatloaf/burgers/chili with veggies in them (blender FTW) I'll make mac& cheese with broccoli bits Mashed potatoes with carrots mashed in Rice with diced carrots and peas I never hid veggies, but my son refuses any raw vegetable. We're pretty limited to broccoli, carrots, peas and eggplant in my house,…

Ha, yes maam. About 190 now...and THANK YOU. The greatest lesson I've learned is that I need to love myself and respect myself at any size. Self worth isnt dependent on a wieght or a size. Treat yourself like you are Worth it EVERY SINGLE DAY

WHUT!!?! All 200 lbs of 5'3" me cosplays and it's always freaken AWESOME. I make sure my outfits are tasteful. Yes, a big girl wearing a tiny non-body conscious outfit is going to get a negative reaction, but a beautiful women dressed beautifully will ALWAYS get a positive one. GO AND STRUT, at whatever size. I think it is…

I have an hour lunch break, so I joined a gym a block away... I rush over there, get a 45 minute HIIT sesh in or a lift sesh, quick shower and back to the office. I also ride my bike to and from the train to get from brooklyn into manhattan
-
I'm 5'3"... you have wonderful body composition...youre going to look so killer when you get to goals its gonna be unbelievable
-
You look great! Can I ask how tall you are? I'm halfway bwtween your before & current weight and certainly do not look as wonderful as you do!
-
Say NO to the scale. I have lost measly 6 lbs this time around on MFP, but fit into clothes 2-3 sizes smaller... I have been working out, lifting, HIIT and building muscle. I refuse to let my relationship with gravity make me feel like all that is in vain. Take weekly photos, take measurements, but try to weigh in every…

This post in incredibly powerful. Too often those of us in the beginning of our journey struggle with perception...we fear the sideways glances, and the way we look when we're struggling to run a 20 minute mile on a road along some roadrunner type, or the fear that some jerk is going to moo at us as we ride our bike past…

Saying "only" undermines the success of this loss- that's an entire toddler. That's 34 lbs you no longer have to carry around. It's not ONLY 34lbs- its 34 lbs of hard work. You should be proud!
-
Im going to try to get to the gym and try some upper body stuff. I just have a "routine" and deviating from it is stressing me out
-
Congratulations! That's awesome. Ive repeated weeks but made significant progress...But shin splints have forced me to stop, at least for the time being. I went from crying after 60 seconds of running to being able to run a solid 12 minute mile, which was my own success.
-
I think it depends on the brand... mine looks like this and on the higher level settings it is ROUGH. But I feel it so much more on my thighs and bum than I did the elliptical so I love it. I wish I didnt ghet awful shin splints because running was doing wonderful things for my jiggly thighs, but this will do.
-
I was a huge fan of the elliptical but gave it up for running. Now that I can't run, I've tried to go back to the elliptical. I still like it, but my gym has something called a "Precor" machine...its an elliptical and stairmaster mushed into one and that KILLS ME. I try to do a minimum of 30 minutes regardless of which…

Aw man I wish I had pics on my work computer! I have cosplayed at NYCC the past 4 years, as has my (now 6 year old) son. Ive done a pretty sweet steampunk Han Solo, Harley Quinn, Boba Fett and I was working really hard at a Lobo outfit before learning I wouldnt be attending. Im sad to be missing it this year, but my best…

It depends on your settings- if your settings are "active", but your activity is your workouts, then no i wouldn't eat them back. Mine is set to "sedentary" so that my workouts count as additional burns and I eat them back. I also manually adjusted my settings to be at TDEE-20% so I wouldnt have to worry about MFP math and…

The youtubes Ive seen look intense! Hope I can keep up

Ive def heard stories of bad boxes and coaches that push people out of their comfort level. That's why I signed up for 2 different ones, a few days apart from each other, to see how I liked it, if I liked it at all, and try diff boxes. I can't make a decision until Ive experienced it.
-
That sounds like you had a great coach. The gym by me is a little pricier, but sometimes it's worth paying the price for something you love. Im nervous because I don't know if I'm "fit" enough for it, but I would know unless I try, right?
-
bump. Anyone tried this?
-
I'm not worried about that so much, Im very good at saying no. I can also lift pretty heavy, but I want to try CF because I want to work on my overall fitness, whereas I feel like my cardio and weightlifting are 2 separate things right now
