  • You will probably get various answers to this question. I do eat my exercise calories and have still lost 14 pounds in 12 weeks. I did have to tweek the calorie intake a little after 4 weeks because I stopped losing. So I checked out the boards and alot of people were saying to eat more when you plateau. I went from 1200…
  • I count them if I remember. But I don't beat myself up if I forget. :grumble:
  • I use MIO liquid water enhancher. Also instead of drinking pure orange juice( which is too sweet for me) I will make a drink with half water and half juice. Good luck BTW I actually water down all my juice drinks.
  • I started a 170lbs and I put my information in MFP said in order to lose 1lb a week I needed to eat 1200 cals. However after three weeks I was no longer losing. So I up my calories to 1350 and now have continued to lose the weight. I am 10 weeks in an 10lbs lost. I think I may have underestimated my activity level because…
  • That is so true. After a day with my granddaughter I am worn out. It really should be in the data base. I guess you could use walking because that is what do alot chasing here from room to room. She loves to play hide and seek. I just love having her for the day but i need a day of rest after she leaves!! LOL
  • This is a touchy subject for alot of people. Let me tell you she was probably trying to justify taking her children to MD's and tried to make is sound better. It is not your responsiblilty to make her feel better about her choices. So don't feel bad about what you said you are aloud state how you feel at the doctors. Now I…
  • I was told the same thing not to eat past a certian time. That is a myth according to alot of people. Now I have not asked my doctor so this is just my personal view. But look at the following artical on Fitday.com. Eating late is only bad if you are just snacking and going over your calories for the day. If you…
  • When I told my doctor I didn't like plain water she told me I could add Flavorings like Crystal light or Mio. I would still reccommend asking your doctor how they feel about the issue.
  • This is a great idea. My husband and I have started to workout together and is a great help when you have that support. We both were in the Navy for many years and have both retired. That is where our weight issues came in. It is easy when you have to PT every day to stay in shape but once you retire you do not have anyone…
  • I am not a guy either but the topic looked intresting. Taking Chance was a boxful of tissues. I know my husband was holding back tears also. We are both retired Military and that one just makes you think.
  • That is great that you are starting now. My husband and I started exercising in a pool about a month ago. Since you are on your feet all day this may be an option for you. If you can't afford a gym membership you might be able to find a community (YMCA) pool close to you. They are usually cheaper than gyms and some are…
  • I talk to people if they want to talk. It passes the time for me. My husband and I are working out together so we discuss what is going on in our life. Another lady shows up about 15 minutes into our workout and we start talking to her. Pretty soon 45 minutes have gone by and we are about done with our workout. It…
  • How about cheese snacks or deli meat.
