  • LOL! We were at a gourmet store the other day and they had gourmet dog biscuits out. My husband popped one in his mouth just to watch our 8 year old grossing out. Men! Plus he said "There aren't any dogs in here, why would they have these out as samples unless they wanted us to eat them?"
  • December 2010 when I finally had the AH-HA moment and stopped making excuses for being fat. 55 pounds so far and stuck at 180 for the past month *sighs*. (35 to go, my target is 145)
  • Me too, I can't ever seem to be able to eat more than 800 to 900 calories a day! Every night, I add them up and it's just so frustrating. I don't even feel hungry but I know I have to eat more than that. I had a bout when I was 12 where when I just never got hungry. I got really sick and I'm worried that will happen again.…
  • I eat between 1200 to 1500 calories a day, regardless of what I did that day. It's easier for me that way. I listen to my body, if I'm hungry then I get some fruit and if I'm not? Then I stop at the 1200 calories. I'm going to start training for my first marathon soon as hell takes it's weather back so my calories may…
  • My opinion? Doctors who do them without making sure their patients also receive nutritional and emotional/psychological counseling along with it should lose their license. Heck, I'd even give them jail time if I could get away with it. Too many encourage their patients to do this without addressing the underlying condition…
  • WHOA. I'm not sure that this is the best way to get people to lose weight. Also, you keep saying that was aimed towards those you train and yet over and over you make comments about people who "come on here." Anyways. Here's the thing, yelling at people isn't going to accomplish anything. It's not until they look in the…
  • I was too skinny as a child and I can only recall two obese girls and that was in high school (there were twice as many boys though who were obese). I think our eating habits have changed. When I was younger, it was a treat to go even to McDonalds. Now it's the norm. Also, we didn't have the snacks and all these sugary…
  • When I first started trying to lose weight, I got so depressed because weeks would go by and nothing happened! So I packed the scale away and didn't get it back out till my clothes were falling off. I was stunned to see that I had dropped over 50 pounds. Now I get on the scale every morning, at the same time. My issue…
  • Hi, I've wondered this myself. I was 120 through high school and 130 through college. At both those weights I looked too skinny and even got the comments asking if I had an eating disorder. I felt healthiest and looked my best when I was around 145 so that is my goal. The BMI is flawed, it doesn't take into account body…
  • It was 95* outside today, our office was 70* and I was cold! I actually had to go out into the heat to thaw my fingers out. It's kind of nice not always being over heated and sweating.
  • LOL it took how many years to see yourself as overweight/obese? Well maybe it takes just as long to change that mental image? I know that this weekend I went shopping with my boys (husband & son) and literally did a double take when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I stopped and did a couple of goofy poses…
  • I have a Starbucks Frap every single day but I work it into my calories for that day. I see nothing wrong with allowing yourself treats in your day. Make them small and worth it! For me, that 200 calorie drink is worth it because it makes me happy lol. If the cookie is worth it? Then eat it and don't beat yourself up over…
  • Absolutely not. Seems sort of detrimental and like binging to me (for me personally, might work great for others but I always feel sort of bloated and gross if I cheat). Plus, I find it harder to get back on track after allowing myself to go off it. I am not on a diet, exactly, more like I'm trying to change habits and…
  • Me! I'm so excited that I finally got to 180. I'm hovering right at it but can't seem to crack it.
  • I went the other way. I was that person who sweated at the first increase in temperature (ugh) but now I tend to run colder than most others after dropping 55 lbs.
  • Thank you! I gained 80 lbs when I got pregnant and couldn't figure out why I couldn't lose the weight. I was dieting, exercising like I'd lost my mind and nothing was coming off. Silly me, it took me 8 years to figure out to start actually counting my calories and I was stunned to realize that I rarely eat more than 1,000…
  • I don't eat enough calories (one of the major contributors to me getting too fat) so I have to log everything I eat to make sure I'm getting what I'm supposed to. Yesterday by bedtime, I had only eaten 900 calories so I had to go and get some more food. So I log everyday (use the app too).
